Take a culinary journey through South Asian-inspired fare at Tiger Mama. This restaurant serves lunch and dinner in a vibrant space, enhanced by ferns, plants and soft wood paneling. The menu is a love story to Chef Tiffani Faison's culinary brilliance, with a list that seamlessly borrows from the Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian cooking playbook. It offers over 30 small-to-medium plate items, broken down into relatable categories like "rich and earthy" or "cold and fresh."
In addition to its dining area, Tiger Mama also hosts a front bar managed by Brian Callahan. It serves wine, beers and exotic cocktails, such as the Taiwan On: a sweet mix of coconut, key lime, Batavia and Thai basil. Tiger Mama is open all through the week.
Great food and ambience
The food was excellent and the wait staff were great.
Great family style food and drinks. Some stuff is pretty spicy so be sure to check if you care about that.
We went for brunch on Feb 2nd. Unbeknownst to us, the first Sunday of the month is a drag brunch. We had an absolute ball and will definitely go back. The food is fantastic and the drag show was tons of fun. It was, however, very lively in terms of noise so if you are going to catch up with friends, it will be very difficult. Otherwise fantastic. Warning: there is a $10 cover which surprised us but it is well worth it.
Dinner was great! The ambiance was energetic and obviously very popular, for good reason. The sticky ribs were phenomenal. I have a mint allergy, and the kitchen staff marked up a menu for me.
I would go back with a group, as the plates are made for sharing. Also unique drink menu, with great presentation.
Our waiter was very informative and friendly in helping us select a complementary combination of dishes. The spicey mushrooms, laksa, ribs and rice created an excellent meal in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Slow to get some orders made for delays and less than optimal dining experience. Otherwise great. Food is delicious and creative. Friendly staff.
Just amazing. Best restaurant in the area. Oh, and the rice/coconut is from another world. Make sure. Get at least one serving per person otherwise the table will fight with each other!
Brunch at Tiger Mama is out of this world. So delicious, cool ambiance, and great service!
Love the food here...always fantastic. The atmosphere is really fun too.
The food this time was inedible. It was either too spicy (I enjoy really spicy food) or too salty. While the server did replace the dishes, they were poorly made and she acknowledged that the chef agreed that there was way too much spice and salt in the dishes. The noodle dish had NO noodles, just a bunch of bitter bok Choi which made that dish inedible as well.
We’ve been there a few times, I’m guessing they have a new chef who made some bad food this time around.
Food came out quickly, and everything was delicious. Very attentive and sweet staff too ❤️
Very poor service. Need to train their staff on what it is to wait on tables. Took 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order. We were on the verge of getting up and leaving.
This was my first time dining at Tiger Mama based on many recommendations. Food, drinks, and service were all great. However, what really put a damper on the meal was the mouse that was visibly running around the restaurant and in and out of the kitchen during our meal. Food was great but I probably will not be returning any time soon.
Service was terrible but the food was great, as always.
Our waiter was rude, unfriendly and curt.
The food was sub par. I had eaten there before twice a few years back and remember enjoying the food and recommend the restaurant to others.
This time I had a different experience and was embarrassed for recommending we go there. I hope there is a good explanation for such a decline in quality and service.
The papaya salad should come with a warning. It was so spicy hot that it was inedible and as our first dish it completely destroyed our taste buds. There was no indication on the menu that it was supposed to be a super spicy dish. Interestingly the “spicy Okra” was only mildly spicy.
food was good not great.. service was pretty good but not great.... based on reviews I read I expected a lot more .... We ordered the duck ($80) and were not wowed... It was good but not great by any means....
Oh well.. we tried TM.... there's better to be had in this town
The brunch is top 5 in Boston without a doubt! The rotating donut was so freshly fried but not oily and not too sweet. The breakfast sandwich was so damn different and so good. Best of all was the shrimp benny, what a a gem. Loved everything. Service was super friendly and prompt too!
Even though we had told them we were celebrating our wedding anniversary we weren’t given a private booth or anything of that sort. We were disappointed as we were pretty much sitting on our neighbor’s table. Seating was less than ideal. But, having said that, our experience was wonderful. Those too close neighbors ended up being friendly and telling us about their
We had a great time. Food was delicious Enjoyed every bite
It was awesome and delicious!
Great food, unique dishes, excellent service. Highly recommend.
NYE at Tiger Mama was fabulous. We loved our food and drinks and the atmosphere was decked out for ringing in 2020. Our waitress was also great with our large party. She was attentive to our allergies, which was so appreciated. Will be back for sure 👍🏼
Great service and creative food
I eat out at many different places and this has been the best so far. Love the food choices.
Soooo good! The Singapore noodles, bacon waffle and shrimp toast Benny were amazing! Oh and don’t forget to get the donut, amazing! Will definitely be going back 🤗
Excellent dishes. We ordered 11 items for 5 people and 3 desserts separately. The items are all shareable. So the more people in your group, the better. Ask for the tiki drinks menu to see unique tiki cocktails.
The service was pretty terrible. And we could hear neighboring ranked complaining of the same as well. The ambiance was nice inside, but the tables were so close that it was hard to focus on anything when the table next to you is basically talking in your ear. This would all be fine, if the food was worth it. So much of it was over salted. The flavors were good, it's a shame that it was too hard to eat. The execution was a bummer. Just expected way better on all fronts.
Great for groups & enjoying the tiki bar, Cocktails are outstanding and so is the ambiance. Will be going back!
We had a show at the House of Blues. It was a great place to pregame.
The food was delicious and there was a great ambiance but the portions were very small.
Cool decor, lively crowd, superb menu mixing interesting new items with East Asian classics (though most everything with a twist). The "PadThai" Salad (their quotes, not mine) in particular was unlike any we've had before, lighter, but delicious. The Crispy Pork Ribs were excellent, the Spicy Okra was superb, the Coconut Chili Shrimp was even better. Our only disappointment was the Mala Mushrooms which were delicious but just too spicy for us (and we have lived in SE Asia and like very spicy food). For dessert the Miso Nutty was a revelation.
In all a great time, a great meal and highly recommended.
Declicous food! Every bite, so interesting and some unexpected flavors!
We were thrilled to get the two top tucked back near the back bar... wonderful food, wonderful service. Always a pleasure to dine with y’all!
I want to start off by saying we love this restaurant and will continue to go.
We made a reservation for 5p to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We drove an hour to be there, unfortunately because of traffic, we were about 5-10 mins. late. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table, in a back corner next to the bar. Not a great seat but whatever. Our server came over about 5-10 mins. later. She struggled to explain the one special to us, saying “broth” about 15 times in the process, even after we told her we weren’t interested. After another 5-10 mins. she came back and we ordered drinks and our food... 2 Mai-Tais, Crispy Pork Ribs, Pad Gra Pow, Singapore Street noodles. We always order the last two. Our drinks were promptly served as were our ribs and noodles, in that order. For the next half hour, our server never checked on us. Other servers were sent over to remove plates, refill water, etc. It was obvious to us, as we both have worked many years in restaurants, that the server never placed the order for the Pad Gra Pow and didn’t want to deal with it, even though if we had just been given an explanation, we would have been fine with it.
When our server finally came back, she had no explanation as to why the Pad Gra Pow still wasn’t there. About 10 mins. later it was delivered, but the egg was not fully cooked... the white part was still clear and runny in parts. At the point we just finished out meal, waited for the server to return, cashed out and left. No apologies for the mix up at all.
Again, we will return as it is one of our favorite restaurants, but the service this time was terrible. We didn’t expect to have the red carpet rolled out for us, but when they asked while making the reservation if it was a special occasion, we figured we would have at least been given a better table instead of being stuck in no man’s land with a server who can’t recite one special correctly.
My favorite restaurant! It somehow gets better each time!
The food was fabulous as usual. We tried two dishes that we never ordered before - the halibut and the monkfish - and they were great. Our service was excellent too
Amazing food and service. Couldn’t recommend more!
Delicious food, great recommendations from our waiter Evan. Beautiful atmosphere. Booked another dinner in a week!
Once again Tiger Mama exceeds expectations. I had the best shrimp I’ve ever had along with other delicious dishes. Cocktails are always masterfully crafted and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
