Take a culinary journey through South Asian-inspired fare at Tiger Mama. This restaurant serves lunch and dinner in a vibrant space, enhanced by ferns, plants and soft wood paneling. The menu is a love story to Chef Tiffani Faison's culinary brilliance, with a list that seamlessly borrows from the Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian cooking playbook. It offers over 30 small-to-medium plate items, broken down into relatable categories like "rich and earthy" or "cold and fresh."
In addition to its dining area, Tiger Mama also hosts a front bar managed by Brian Callahan. It serves wine, beers and exotic cocktails, such as the Taiwan On: a sweet mix of coconut, key lime, Batavia and Thai basil. Tiger Mama is open all through the week.
The server was very pleasant and full of recommendations-she knew the menu very well.
As usual the food was very good-the lamb rolls were a little salty, but certainly edible. The potatoes were outstanding as well as the house fried rice-I look forward to ordering them next time!
Great food wonderful drinks. Great service
awesome place but disappointed with the duck for the price. I personally loved the shrimp and the hanoi.
The food is Asian street food fusion served to share. Some dishes more successful than others but nothing stood out as very good or very bad. They try to be original and they do present unusual combinations but overall we got the feeling that style won over substance. Smallish plates and very small cocktails.
Tables for 2 arranged too close to each other. You are almost eating together with the next table. High noise volume if you next table neighbors happen to speak loudly...which they did.
We paid around $90 with tips which we considered expensive for what we got.
Was it a bad experience? No.
Was is a memorable one? No.
Would we go back again? Probably not.
Endroit très plaisant. Bonne ambiance. Nourriture et cocktails excellents.
Server was great, food was great, we live this place anytime.
Amazing, as always!
The atmosphere and the service is good but the food is a bit salty and hard to consume
Tiger mama was a great place to dine out.
It was my first experience and t was a great one. the inside is very instagram worthy and the food was super delicious defiantly will go again.
My wife and I were quite pleasantly surprised . I had picked out the place for our anniversary. The food is shareable and in very good taste. In runs a bit spicy which is how I like it. We chose to go meatless and ordered from the appetizer menu, and Veggies and the noodles menu. Loved our choices and our server, Patrick was excellent. I recommend the Japanese Yam and the Pad Thai Salad.
Tha food was fantastic. So many unique flavors and creative dishes.
My biggest gripe was the oversell. The waiter said that the restaurant serves "small plates" and that for four of us we should order 6-8. Turns out that each plate was quite large so we had lots uneaten. Sounds great on one hand ... leftovers, yay! On the other hand, ended up being much more expensive than necessary. And, were definitely oversold. Felt like we were targeted and marketed. I don't like that. Also, two of the dishes were super spicy. So much so that they were hard to eat. That's fine, but either the menu or the waiter should have given us advance notice so that we had the option to choose differently if we wanted to do so.
If I did refer to a friend, I'd tell them to ask about spice level and order in stages. The food came out super fast, so it would have been better to order a few at a time rather than a quantity all out once.
The food was good but the service is some of the worst I’ve had in a long time. On multiple occasions, they they brought someone else’s food to our table. They also put our food down on someone else’s table and then had the other couple give us the plate of food - not sanitary especially for a restaurant of this caliber. The drinks that we got were delicious.
Everything from the food to the staff was outstanding!
One of the best in the city! Incredible food and staff!
The food was very delicious - you couldn’t pick a bad dish if you tried. We love spicy food so this was a perfect spot. The only thing is the small tables are too close together for comfort...Other than that, great experience
It’s a good hang out spot. It’s high energy and youthful and moderately loud. Better for a bunch of friends socializing than a date night kind of thing. I’d go back but I’d visit other places first.
Everything we got was delicious! Service was on the slow side even though the restaurant wasn’t very crowded but food was definitely worth the wait! Coconut shrimp, drunkie noodles and sweet potato roll were all to die for
Love the food and vibe at Tiger Mama. And our server was outstanding! We liked it so much we changed dinner plans for two nights after our first visit and returned again. When we return to Boston, we'll definitely return to Tiger Mama!
The food is amazing as is the ambiance. I will definitely be going back again. I was a little thrown off because our waiter explained that it was a small plates restaurant and the food is great for sharing. So we ordered one or two things and then he took away our menus so we didn’t feel like we could order more. I would have spent more money and eaten more food had a menu been left on the table like they do at Barcelona or other small plates/tapas style restaurants. He also could have been a hair more attentive.
The food is always great. As was the service. Shared small plates is an excellent way to have dinner with friends.
I came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and had a great meal! The service was excellent and very attentive and the dishes were well-paced–there's nothing worse than getting all of your small plates at once. Our server made good recommendations; the food and drinks (Mai Tais) were really tasty; the portions sizes were filling, we split 4 dishes and a dessert between the two of us. Plus, the ambiance was lively without it being too loud to hear each other.
We have visited many times and found this experience to be even better than prior ones. Food was on point, cocktails were delicious and the server and service very attentive. We all walked away in awe of the tasty food! Tumeric shrimp, mussels, pork ribs, roasted yams, chili potatoes (favorite!!), and tandoori cauliflower.
We were a little disappointed with this place. It was recommended to us for our anniversary dinner. While the menu offerings were unique and the food was tasty, we found the place a bit noisy and the tables too close together. It would be fun for a more casual dinner but not a special night out. Oh well.
Food and cocktails were excellent. They did a great job accommodating multiple food allergies.
Food and cocktails are always excellent. My friend hadn't been and enjoyed everything. Its sometimes a bit of a wait to get help ordering drinks and food arrives in a somewhat chaotic fashion.
The food was phenomenal. Service was a bit sassy but adequate. The noise level was decent but the seating was GROSSLY INADEQUATE. The strait and unpadded benches used as seating was so uncomfortable I didn’t want to stay for desert.
It was beautiful. Our server was really sweet and I wished I remembered her name because she was awesome in helping us with food selection and making it a very cute experience for my girlfriend and myself
I love this restaurant. Highly recommend it for brunch as there is a very similar menu but the place is almost empty - definitely don't need to wait 3 hours for a table like on a Friday night. :)
This is a very robust restaurant with a lot of energy. The portions are a bit small but work well if you eat with a group of people in a family style way. The food is amazing and staff very personable and awesome.
Great food, drinks and atmosphere! Great spot for a large dinner party.
Excellent food and the server knew a lot about wine and made a great recommendation for what to pair with our food.
Great food and cool decore. Drinks were great as well, a must have the pork spare ribs and drunken noodles!
Food was great. Had to wait about 20 min past our reservation for a table though.
I love tiger mama! The food is always incredible, and the service is excellent. Great Asian fusion with very tasty cocktails, too. Totally worth the price— love it for special occasions or if I’m just feeling myself.
This review will be done by using voice text so please understand that some of the words may look a little screwy.overall the food was decent. I really liked the Singapore noodles. Everything else was fine but there was nothing that was really out of the ordinary. I did expect to have a superior experience.overall it was pretty much what I would consider a standard Thai restaurant.it certainly had a very upbeat atmosphere I will give it that very very popular place. The food however was about what I expected nothing nothing really special.portion size was adequate for the price. When they said it was spicy they were certainly correct! I did like the fact that they did warn you certain dishes would really have a bite to it. I certainly be willing to go back again but I won't necessarily go out of my way. Personally I think we will give the sister restaurant sweet cheeks a try
Great food, great service. It is a bit pricey considering the price, but it's all worth spending.
You are greeted by blasting music, so loud that it precludes conversation across a table. The table itself was sticky, and service was indifferent. Good food; unpleasant experience.
Excellent and thorough presentation of allergens. High class service from everyone from the waitstaff to runners.
Aa per usual the food was very, very good! Thought it was unusual, however, that for a non drinker, choices of beverage were sweet juice concoctions and/or soda: an Asian type restaurant with no tea (either hot or cold) was not an option...so with the spicy food a calming tea for the palate was not available....either water or very sweet.
