Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill - Euless
Brunch at Thirsty Lion is fabulous. Our server Maegan made it event more memorable !
Great place for food and pretty good service most of the time. Unfortunately this place is known for continous advertising of "specials" that have bizarre restrictions and employees have no knowledge of. Discounted drinks when the temperature is over 95, BUT you have to order and drink outside in the sun! College football beer specials, BUT only until 3:00PM even though no games they list start before that time!
We went here at the suggestion of our daughter-in-law for a birthday celebration for our son. Because of some of the reviews we had read, we decided to arrive early in order to get the table for 4 and wait for them to arrive. When we arrived, we were met and seated fairly quickly to a table of our liking. We noticed that there are a number of tables that are a high top type, probably 60% maybe more of the tables are this type both inside and outside, then only 20% of a traditional height table/booth. The remainder of the tables were at the bar. We opted for a table that was a traditional height since my wife is short and does not like her feet to rest on foot rests or "dangle" for extended periods of time.
We were met promptly by our server Savanah, who was most likable and easy to please. She mentioned that "Happy Hour" was still in progress but we noticed that it was a very limited menu. The menu itself was quite varied and fairly easy to find something to eat. We ordered everything from we had their bacon wrapped dates & queso dip to start (both were very good) then on to the main course. We had salads to a dressed up burger to one of their specialty chicken dishes to even their specialty scallops & veggies. All were good to very good. Savanah then brought out a brownie & ice-cream desert (complimentary) for the son's birthday, she said it was delicious.....I am glad it was complimentary, terrible way to end the evening.
We would go back but I would certainly get there in time to get one of the traditional height tables. One further note. They do not offer napkins for your drinks so you are always dripping condensation all over your clothing. I asked for a napkin, the answer, we don't have them. They should re-think that one.
Yummy food and attentive service. Several in the group complimented my choice on where to go. Thank you for making me look good!
We had brunch for a friend and were able to make reservations, which was terrific. The offerings were unique and the various flavors blended terrifically. Our waitress saw the gift bags and asked if there was an occasion, and we told her it was a birthday. She said "happy birthday" and I kinda said, "That's it, right"...meaning we weren't reeeeally wanting a singing party. She said yep, but at the end of our meal, she had a brownie dessert brought out. Which was fantastic. A pleasant relaxing experience.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Will return soon.
Always a great time at TL!
Love the atmosphere in this restaurant. They have good happy hour and brunch specials on drinks. We will definitely be back!
First time here and LOVED it. The oven-baked pretzel with the three dipping sauces was worth the trip all by itself. Everything else was a bonus. Eclectic menu, good prices, fun atmosphere. We'll be back!
The fish and chips were delicious and the Mediterranean pasta from the seasonal menu was okay. The service was pretty good. We will definitely go back.
We happened to have a large group, 30 people, next to us. A bit on the noisy side. Food was tasty and well presented. Parker, our server, was very attentive and helpful.
the restaurant wasn't clean and they switched staff 3 times within a hour
Brunch is wonder. The French Toast was delightful service was great
👍 great place!
Food was disappointing, was expecting Korean flavor from a fried chicken dish but tasted more like ketchup than real Korean flavor. Very expensive for the food and drinks, don’t feel it was worth the money
A large, varied menu. Service is always good. The restaurant has a great atmosphere.
The food just wa
Brunch menu variety was decent. Portions were good size for the price and drink specials very fair.
This place is amazing and visit multiple times every time I come to town. I’ve never ate the same thing twice and every dish is just as great as the last.
Excellent service, great menu and enjoyed the beer. Nice dining area but very loud. Will go back and highly recommend others to go
Great food and lots of smiling happy hostess and servers. Love their brunch and happy hour. Have brought many friends and family members to try food.
I know the British are not known for their great food, but the Thirsty Lion certainly knows how to serve fantastic, tasty food. We've been several times and tried a variety of dishes; every one of them has been excellent. Their service is also exemplary. They even greet you at the door.
The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but we had trouble getting our waiter to respond in a timely manner. The fish and chips, I'm told, was ok, but not great. I had the pulled pork cubano. I had that sandwich in this restaurant several months earlier, and it was really quite good, so I ordered it again. This time it was quite dry, and lacked the flavor and spice of the previous sandwich--it really wasn't very good at all. The overall ambiance was good, noise moderate, menu has good variety, and good selection of beer from which to choose. Sadly disappointed in the sandwich.
I don't write many reviews, but just felt like this one needed to be out there. As you all know, there are not a big selection of nice dinig patios in our area. It's Mother's Day, and this momma just wanted to be on a nice patio. We made our reservations in advance, and when we checked in we requested a shaded patio table IF they had one (they had many, weren't all that busy considering it was a big restaurant holiday). Their main patio faces the West, so if we were going to sit out there it needed to be shaded.
We are doing great, having drinks & a few starters before our main courses, BUT THEN this man that I can only assume is a manager (based in his dress shirt & slacks) out of nowhere raised the screens and made our table and all others around us be in the blazing sun. Not all of us had sunglasses either. I went in and asked him if he could please lower it back. He did, BUT THEN 10 minutes later raised it again! This went on THREE TIMES. Is this a joke? Same employee doing this over & over. Everyone around us was clearly just as annoyed as we were. This manager clearly has no intrest in the comfort of his guests while they are eating dinner. We scrambled and tried to finish quickly. Not eager to go back, and definely not for their patio scene.
We sat outside on the south patio for a Mother’s day dinner. Beautiful day for eating outside. The beer was cold. The grilled artichoke starter was great. Two of us had the spicy chicken sandwich but without the bun. It was good. My daughter had the sea bass and said it was good. They have a happy hour menu before 6:00 that looks like a great deal. We will be back.
My reservation was for 1:45p. I made this reservation a week ago and really wanted to try something new.
Checked in at 1:45p. Seated right away. Waitress ,Tara, came to our table after about 10 min. The place was busy. It took them 40 min to get the 2 mimosas to us. She said they were $5 today! Tall champagne glasses but only 1/2 full and no ice or straw and more liquor than needed. Glasses could have been cleaner also.We waited and waited for the waffles, French toast and omelet . After an hour the manager came over without us asking for him to tell us the food was on it's way out. Well we waited another 40 min and nothing came. I asked 2 waiters to have the manager come over . I wanted the check for the mimosas. The manager chose not to come over. One of the waitresses started talking to me saying that the other waitress was really sorry and that the drinks was on the manager but when I touched her arm saying it was ok she jecked her arm from me. I meant no harm. But for a manager not to come to our table or even offer a discount is really absurd. We watched every table get food that came in after us.
The atmosphere was nice, the waiters and waitresses seemed nice, prices were extremely high and for the service we got it should have been free. Will never go back. And will tell everyone I know about what it was like . Mother's Day from hell!
We went for Mother's Day brunch. Our waitress had to be reminded over and over to bring requested items. The kitchen was very slow. So slow the waitress asked of she could bring us something to tide us over until the food came out. We said yes and ordered toast which she forgot to bring and had to be reminded to do so. We waited for over an hour and half for food. When it arrived my food wasn't cooked properly and had raw, crunchy potatoes. They were out of a lot of items. Not a professionally run restaurant at all. Great potential but severely lacking in performance. Go somewhere else!
Service was very slow
We have gone to different locations for Thirst lion. The food and drinks are excellent!
new concept, menu very varied which is great for all palates wine choices a winner too!
The califlower appetizer was like a meal in itself - DELICIOUS!
Just need to turn the screen volume down just a little bit.
Always a great meal and dining experience at TL!
It’s become our go-to spot!
Great menu beer and wine choses great location and nice patio ambiance.
We had Sunday Brunch at the Thirsty Lion in Euless TX. The food as usual was outstanding. The server was very well trained and took care of all our needs. The only drawback to having a meal at Thirsty Lion is the unrelenting noise level. Sunday brunch was somewhat better than the evenings we have been there, but we could barely converse with our guest. Hopefully something can be done or we will be eating
less at the Thirsty Lion
This is a wonderful, enjoyable restaurant. It's hip but not overly trendy, spacious yet intimate, and the outdoor patio is stunning. The waitstaff, including the host staff, are all pleasant and accommodating.
Excellent service by server. Caesar salad had too much garlic. Otherwise very good. Really liked their Reuben. It was a bit loud but not as bad as some places.
Nice establishment but the waiter left us with out checking took forever to place order. Came back 3 times with water but never bothered to engage and ask if we would like another drink. Our food was taken to 2 other tables before it finally landed at out table. So customer service is lacking at this establishment and the back ups and waiters take no responsibility just play the blame game on each other for lack of service and mistakes
Have been there several times and had a good meal and great service. Not so much this time. My meal was too greasy or oily. We waited a long time for anyone to come to the table after we were seated and we even had a reservation. Although the room appeared wide open, we were seated by the restroom doors. No one should be seated there. Our reservation was 5:45. By the time anyone got to us, it was too late to order the appetizer on the happy hour menu. Not an accommodating atmosphere. No offer to try to do anything about it. Having had so much fun there in the past, we'll probably try again, but not in the near future.
