Not a quiet spot to have a convo. Ensure your rest is upstairs where it's quiet as downstairs is full of parties. There was a wedding and some Christmas party, and it was loud AF. Food is BOMB though.

The food was fantastic as always however, our experience was disappointing due to the following reasons: -it took 45 mins after ordering to receive our dinner -there was a holiday party happening right at our table -we kept getting bumped -it was so loud that any communication was impossible. We left with sore throats. Workman’s Friend has always been a staple in our household but this experience has made us rethink that.

Loved this place, definitely felt like a proper pub and those sausage rolls were awesome. I had shepherds pie (yes it had lamb), my wife had fish and chips. Guinness and wine were great and a 99 dessert to top it all off. We will definitely be going back !!

Our waiter was attentive, friendly and made us feel like welcomed visitors to a pocket of Ireland. Now that I've been introduced to HP sauce, I'll never have Shepard's Pie without it!

The food and service were very good. It was my birthday which I included in our reservation, we had a party of 6. We were sat next to the front door, next to the bar, tables were pieced together. The ambiance and noise level were not what I expected for a birthday reservation. No offer to seat us in the back with the fireplace and no piecing together if tables. For a bar atmosphere fine but not a good dinner location.

We went here for dinner before a show at Ovens Auditorium. We each ordered a cocktail from the menu, shared the smoked salmon board appetizer, and ordered the vegan curry and the fish and chips. Everything was cooked and served perfectly. The vegan curry was particularly colorful and delicious--not spicy but full of flavor. I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Our seats by the fireplace were delightful--perfect blend of cozy and energetic.

If you like pubs and European football this is a great spot. The Shepherds pie was fantastic , the boxy Benedict was excellent as well. It’s a true Irish pub atmosphere

Not worth the price or the time to travel there. The restaurant was recommended to us but there was nothing unique or interesting. The food was fair. Certainly not rushing back. 75.00 with tip.

Our cocktails were very good as was the food. The prices were very good for what you got. Cocktails cost almost as much as the meal. But the parking was tricky.

The boxty benedict at brunch was not great, and most people in my party didn't love their brunch entree. That being said, it was not bad either. Service was outstanding, a little dark for brunch inside the restaurant, but overall a good experience. Would definitely go back for brunch drinks but maybe not the food.

Having spent time in Ireland this was as close as I’ve found to it in the states. Well drafted pints, delicious mains and apps. Ginger beer is a must!

The Workman’s Friend is a favorite of ours but I was pretty disappointed with my recent brunch there. I ordered Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Asked for the eggs over medium. What a received was a pile of roasted potatoes and cubed corned beef which was dry. No onions. Not much of a hash. Would not have been so bad if my eggs came as ordered. They were overcooked and hard yolks. Miss their incredible Monte Cristo!

Fun place to be, excellent beer selection, not very good wine selection. Some items ordered were very good, like the fried oysters and okras, however the Irish stew (beef stew) and the shepherds pie could have been more flavorful. Good vibe.

Finally tried this place early evening on a Saturday in spring. The good: cold beer, fried oysters, fish and chips, grilled cheese, overall vibe, and attentive wait staff. The not so good: dry shepherds pie, overly sweet cocktail. The bad: having a reservation for six several weeks in advance with “special occasion” birthday clearly noted for my 80-something mother only to be seated in the loud bar area directly in front of the host’s check in. We would have preferred the much quieter fireplace area that was half empty. That is not enough for us not to return, more of a comment for the owner to pay attention to the reservation notes. Overall we liked it and will try again without elderly parents in tow.

Food was fantastic! Waiter was efficient and had a great attitude. Fun atmosphere and food served in a quick amount of time. Stew was absolutely delicious -- just wish there was more meat in it. ;-)

This is one of our favorite places to celebrate everything from St. Pattys Day, family birthdays, random Wednesdays…. We love the patio on a nice afternoon off and, by the way, we drive an hour from Rock Hill to get here. The food is great but the atmosphere and the service keep us coming back.

I ordered the purple gnocchi. It was tasty but wasn’t as “pillowy” as tradition versions. But, I love this place none the less. Neighborhood gem.

We have driven by many times and finally decided to make a reservation. We went to Ireland this summer and I’m telling you the food here was on level with the food in Ireland. The atmosphere is just like an Irish pub and the ambiance is laid back but also classy feeling. The drinks were great as well. We went on New Years Eve but will definitely be going back as a regular spot to drink as well as eat. If you haven’t been you’re missing out.

The food was great and environment festive and a little noisy. If you want quiet atmosphere and intimate conversation, this is not the place. It was a little chilly inside with that patio area and no doors to the main dining area to cut down on drafts. We would definitely go back. One negative note is the amount of trash on the ground outside and heading to rear parking lot.
