    Although we have dinned many times at the Woodhouse and always had a great experience, on this occasion, we came across much difficulty trying to secure a table for nine people (2 families) even though our enquiries over the phone and via email were made 2 months prior to booking. We were extremely disappointed with all the difficulties and conditions attached while trying to make the booking and finally were not offered the table we required. We chose to book online with one family booking a table of 4 and the other family a table of 5, but even then, we couldn’t get them at the same time so they were booked 30 minutes apart. After spending a considerable amount of money at such a Restaurant like this, it would have be nice if the two couples could have dinned together with their partners rather than be divided over two tables in two different rooms. There were obvious spaces where a table of nine could have easily been arranged. I understand that establishments may have their policies in place for whatever reason, but their ability to be inflexible in making it work for the number required, seems to put the Woodhouse in place where it has lost its understanding of hospitality. While dinning, the waitress could not explain the cut of Wagyu being offered on the specials boards so in the end, out of 9 people dinning, four Wagyu Rostbiffs were ordered and even though they were cooked medium, each of them was tough, chewy and unseasoned. Our countless dining experiences at the Woodhouse had us coming back for more, but unfortunately after this experience, this will be the last time we dine at the Woodhouse or recommend it to anyone we know.

    Had a fantastic meal at The Woodhouse with my wife and cousin from Geelong. The food was absolutely delicious — cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Great atmosphere with warm and cozy open fires. Highly recommend if you’re after a quality dining experience in Bendigo!

    We absolutely love Woodhouse — every time we go, it’s such a great experience. The food is always spot on. The oysters are one of our favourites, and the prawns are seriously delicious too. The cocktails are a real highlight. I usually ask for something that’s not on the menu, and they always come up with the perfect drink that suits my taste. It’s like they just get it every time. Great food, great drinks, awesome atmosphere — Woodhouse never lets us down. Can’t wait to go back again!

    We shared a delightful evening meal in this cost venue last Tuesday evening, and really enjoyed our "date" night out. Service, food and wine - all impeccable - lived the Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz from 2020 - beautifully balanced, smooth and a perfect match for our shared Scotch Fillet with pepper and cognac sauce, mustards and perfectly cooked vegetables! Having started with the fresh bread, and 2 taster of the Sydney oysters and the duck liver parfait, dessert had to be refused!
