   E went for a special occasion after being recommended by family. Everything was fab. We will be back and we'll absolutely be telling everyone we know how much we enjoyed it. Thank you very much

   We were looking forward to our dining experience at our 'go-to' fine dining in Bendigo. The Bar pre-dinner drinks and olives were the perfect way to start our night - well done on a great area. The dining experience left a lot to be desired based on our many previous visits. Whilst the eye fillet was perfectly cooked the lamb, with belly fat, lacked flavour and the fat did not crisp like pork so left a congealed flavourless cap on lamb that did not have the rich flavour you come to expect from that cut of meat - I would give this plate a miss. The bread (at $4 per slice mind you!) was another disappointment. The whipped salted butter seemed nothing more than some margarine out of a packet mixed with some salt and then topped with some charcoal (?) - a far cry from what we have had in the past with a true whipped mixture full of flavours and blended through - I would also give this a plate a miss until they bring back the original recipe for the butter. The waitress forgot our wine order and asked on two occasions if we wished another drink - to which we could only answer that we would like the bottle of wine we ordered initially. The level of apathy emanating from her about being at work was palpable . We even had to articulate the order again as the original wine order was forgotten. I'm glad we did not order the Muck Duck like our last visit! Unfortunately on this occasion The Woodhouse fell well short of our expectations and previous experiences - certainly on this occasion not a fine dining experience one would expect with the price tag of some of the dishes. We will continue to visit our other favourite dining experience in a laneway in town which has never let us down.

   Andrew, thank you for your review. We always take on all feedback for our learnings and to improve our food and services. There's quiete a bit we fell short on your evening. We are always trying our very best but at times don't succeed. To unpack a few of your obsivations Our gundigia lamb back strap is cooked on our woodgrill for upto 20 minutes Im unsure how the fat didn't render down and crisp up but it should of had plenty of flavour. Peppa saye cultered butter is a very good butter that we put in a paco jet to whip, it defiently is not cheap margarine and the black salt ontop is not charcoal. As for your service truly applogise for our lack of drink service, we will inquiry this with our Manager. We do a appreciate your great reviews for when we did a great job not only when we don't

   Table of five sitting. Service was excellent and the steaks cooked to perfection. Thank you, Woodhouse, for a fantastic night. Worth every penny.

    My partner and I always have an amazing experience at The Woodhouse. This time we were celebrating our 3rd Anniversary. Three years ago, my partner asked me to be his at the Woodhouse over a lovely cocktail. It was very special for us to return and celebrate this with another incredible experience. The brisket skewers were mouth melting and delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked and the sides accompanied very well. I should also mention the amazing bar staff, each time we come, they are able to make my favourite cocktail which is off menu! Our waitress had a lovely, calm nature and also gave us time and space. She was very soft spoken and this only added to the soft ambiance. My partner and I have now decided to make this a regular 2 monthly date night visit. We could not have asked for a better time. Thank you.
