Different foods. I had the salmon cakes and a house salad. The salmon cakes had too much mayonnaise - not much salmon in them. I would not order those.
Menu provided good choices. Food presentation was excellent and the food was tasty and satisfying.
I am never disappointed with the food that I order. I always look forward to the summer when the grill opens and the walleye tacos return.
The place is super cute and service was really fantastic. The menu is large and creative and the food tasted excellent! The noise is really too much however. We were there at lunch time and there were 3 crying babies who were all so loud and the place amplified the crying/screaming. We could not even hear our server talk about the specials. I would recommend going after the large lunch group - perhaps dinner may be more quiet. I would recommend going - the food is very good.
The food is always good. The service was simply outstanding. Love the outside patio.
I put my hands under the chair to pull myself up to the table and stuck my hand in something sticky and disgusting. That kind of ruined it for me. My food was not what I expected. It was not as good as it was when I’ve been there in the past.
The food here is always good. It is tasty and a lot of attention is paid to details. It's not "twee" or "precious". It's just creative and good!
Very limited menu. Very strange blend of flavors. Not for me. Many other better choices in the are.
Our server, Maya, was great. She understood my allergies and totally looked out for me. Our meals were delicious and well presented. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent unique small plates. Our server was Christopher and was fairly new and you would have thought he had been there for years. His menu knowledge and smooth friendly demeanor enhanced our experience.
Everyone loved their food. I was worried when we ordered because the server only said "good choice" to the person who ordered the turkey sandwich. But we all loved each of our dishes; turkey sandwich, kale salad, tandoori salad substituted with salmon and the lunch box. It was a business lunch and we agreed to keep this on our list of meet up spots. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the tables are tight; giving a cramped feeling and it's a little noisy.
Had not been in for a year or so, was disappointed with the menu. Only six or seven choices for an entree. Quality of the food was ok, just not the selection. The service was also not up to par. We stared at the menu’s for some time and then waiTed again for our drinks. We really expected more.
We've returned to the Wooden Spoon for several years as we love your mushroom soup. However, it was really served luke warm and my friend asked for it to be warmed a little. At coffee time, the service person brought her coffee and creamer, but she had to ask for the sugar and spoon. I asked for regular coffee and a 2nd cup of decaf and the service person brought the decaf as our waiter had not returned with my regular coffee as being warmed to serve hot. Both coffees were not hot. Some mixups and confusion, but the food is lovely!
Love this restaurant! The food and cocktails are so creative! Wonderful service! ❤️
Unique dishes. A local favorite!
This was our first visit to the Spoon. It was a warm evening and we enjoyed the patio. Our server was exceptional sharing her love of the food with us. The four of us shared two appetizers and an entree each. We were very full with doggie bags for the next day. Our entrees included the chicken and cashews, flat iron steak and a Indian special. All very good
Great food, freshly made. Great coffee and selection of teas. My only suggestion would be to select different mood music. The 80's rock playing didn't fit the mood/vibe of the restaurant.
The Wooden Spoon is always an excellent dining experience. My family and I look forward to going there every time, and usually contemplate the next occasion on the ride home. The staff is personable and professional, and the food is very fresh and cooked to perfection. It is gratifying to have this restaurant in Brighton, along with several other very good restaurants serving a relatively small population base. At this point I don’t really feel compelled to leave the Brighton/Howell area to dine out. We were celebrating my 60th birthday, and I was glad it was at the Wooden Spoon. Thanks for the nice dinner.
Excellent dining experience! This was our first time dining with The Wooden Spoon and it was quite a treat! We started with some tapas, then soups and salads, then our entrees and shared a dessert at the end -- everyone left full and with leftovers! Our waitress was friendly and very accommodating, everything was great!
We sat outside on patio. Travis Root was playing some music which was quite enjoyable. I had Caesar salad, crab toast and a fish taco...all of which were very good. We finished off with a slice of Key lime pie. Food is always great. My mojito was outstanding.
Had an outdoor table-area was roomy and well ventilated. Service was great, very friendly and professional, attentive but not pushy. Portion size was really generous, more than expected, and the food itself was great. This is the first time going and will definitely plan to return in the future.
I love the creative menu options :) Delicious! Ate every bite of our plates!
This was my 4th trip in 2 weeks time. What a hidden gem! Everything is amazing, fresh and worth every penny. Also if you’re lucky enough to have Cassie as your sever she’s the best!
We love the Wooden spoon. Well worth the cost of the food. WE took my youngest son there and he had the chicken entree and made the comment, "This chicken is like...real chicken. Like something YOU would make at home. " LOL This is literally the only restaurant in town where we go and get dinner and leave feeling satisfied and saying "That was really good." The food is healthy and delicious. Not like going to other places where it feels like just a grease bomb and you leave feeling stuffed and yucky. We go here quite often. I highly recommend it. But don't go here if you're looking for a cheap greasy burger and fries. It's better than that. :-)
I would highly recommend the Wooden Spoon for adults and any kids who eat a variety. My only regret with our meal was nothing to do with the restaurant or food itself, but my youngest is quite picky. She ordered an entree but ate very little. I do not think we will go back with her/our kids. My husband and I loved the food, drinks and atmosphere, as usual!
Love, love the food here .... Sitting outside in the warm weather with your lovely food offerings is a joy. Portions are generous. The only thing we dont like is the Noise inside. Please - add some fabrics & spread the tables a smidge !!
Came for a birthday celebration and had an incredible meal. Our waitress, Leanna was absolutely wonderful. Her recommendations and attitude were appreciated and welcoming. We will absolutely return again in the future and will ask for her by name.
Excellent meal. I had one of the specials, a halibut dish that was wonderful. My husband had the salmon salad and loved it. The noise level was very high when we arrived at 7:30 pm. It got better later. I will definitely come back.
Waitstaff polite but not attentive;had to repeatedly ask for the bread requested. No salt & pepper on table; had to ask. Table next to ours asked to borrow salt because they were missing too. Attention to small things count.
Food good; noise level high.
Great place. Casual place but food a couple notches above "family" restaurants plus they have great beer (bottle and draught) and good wine selection. Highly recommended.
It was a quick lunch with relatives. We were seated immediately as we had reservations. The menu items were varied and creative. Everything tasted great.
love this place! Fried gnocchi is delicious!
Great food! Tapas was outstanding ! Menu could use a few more options, but what we had was delicious
As always the food was delicious. We made a reservation and our table was waiting for us promptly!!
def come back, cute joint excellent everything
Zach was the best waiter. The food was great, service even better! We will be back for dinner and a monthly wine dinner.
Great service, great food, and a nice atmosphere for lunch.
Met some friends from out of town here....their first time. They loved the food & the atmosphere. We picked this meeting spot as we love the food and the vibe :)
Very good food, but there was quite a bit of confusion from the wait staff.
Excellent food! Superior service!! I highly recommend The Wooden Spoon!!!
