We booked this only because it was the closest place for food to where we were staying. We read the many glowing reviews on the journey down so we’re looking forward to validating them. It did not disappoint - the menu was interesting with plenty of choices and the food we ordered was superb-tapioca crusted halloumi with delicious dips, chicken goujons with Asian slaw and fish & chips ! Service was excellent-invested staff, knew the food, served with enthusiasm & a smile etc. They were busy but the wait time was perfect! We will definitely be back! Have already recommended to friends who intend visiting! Don’t be put off thinking, with the many locals sitting drinking outside, that this is just a pub - it is a pub but with a great restaurant! We can’t wait to go back!

We found the pub very quiet, only 3 people in there and one couple decided not to eat or drink so left. The food menu was not too good, not much choice and the food was very difficult to eat, in that it was stacked up high on wooden plates and kept falling off. Unfortunately we won't be going back there.

My husband and I were celebrating father's day even though our daughter could not join us. We sat in the conservatory area which was lovely and light. There was a lot of activity toing and froing past our table due to a lot of people being served in the garden. We had the fish soup which was absolutely delicious. Also the lamb wellington which was also delicious. It came with roast potatoes, a huge yorkshire, which unfortunately was cold, as well as a parsnip, roasted carrots and a large selection of green veg and gravy. We also had starters - salt and pepper squid and belly port bites which were gorgeous and a very generous portion. Next time will have the pork bites between us. I had a non alcolohic sauvignon blanc which tasted like an odd slightly sparkling drink - would not have again. The service was a good as it could be on such a busy day. Our main complaint would have to be the wait for the first course to arrive. We were offered olives and bread whilst we were waiting which was a nice gesture.

We live in Portugal but with family in England. When visiting them this Restaurant is mandatory! Congratulations Carlos and team!

Lovely country pub with great food selection, we visited on a Sunday, I had an excellent roast beef, my wife had the pearl barley vegan option which she says was lovely. The staff were concerned to note down and responded to her dietary and food allergy needs. Decor and ambience is quirky /English country/farming/horsey. Recommended!
