The Waterfront Restaurant and Cafe
"Breathtaking Bay Bridge views from every table, both indoors and from the "tented patio", makes this Embarcadero seafooder a wonderful place to relax and absorb the beautiful setting, while the Californian fare is deemed well executed."
11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Dinner: Monday - Saturday: 4:00PM to 9:30PM
Sunday: 1130AM to 9:00PM
10 minutes walking distance from Bart.
Good atmosphere and heartwarming services.
Then, the wine price was very reasonable.
Great meal with a incredible view.
A little pricy for the quality and quantity of food. Wine is over priced.
Classic San Francisco dining experience: Bay Bridge view, excellent food, attentive service. Diverse menu, with emphasis on seafood dishes, and a comprehensive wine list. Not cheap, but the kind of place you definitely want to consider for special occasion dining. The cioppino is outstanding, but my wife and I have never been disappointed by anything we have ordered. Ask for a seat at the window or in the garden room.
The food was great but the service was quite disorganized. View of the bay was wonderful but I'm not sure worth the price.
We were visiting San Fran for fun and looking for a great seafood place by the water, and found this through Open Table. It was exactly what we were looking for with excellent food and a beautiful evening view of Bay Bridge. We would definitely return if we stayed in the area again.
We have eaten here several times before, and enjoy the view of the Bay Bridge lights. This time the food was good, but not great. My sole was not super tender, but tasted fine. My cousin had never had sole, and loved it. The service with our main waiter was good, but I had trouble keeping my water glass filled and had to ask several times. Overall a good experience, but not great.
We were late for our reservation, and when I called to say we’d been delayed, the receptionist was very gracious and accommodating, and we really appreciated that! We were led to a lovely table with a magnificent view. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. And the food was very good. Even the curmudgeon of our party agreed The Waterfront was a great choice!
The manager (Anwar) was outstanding and extremely courteous and helpful. Thanks to him, we will definitely go back!
Unacceptable: the place was grossly overbooked. In spite of our reservation we had to wait well over half an hour to be seated. We then sat at our table for about twenty minutes without meeting our server or even being offered water. So we got up and left.
Admittedly we had arrived about ten minutes late, but we had called ahead to let them know, and it was clear from talking to other patrons that many others were in the same situation.
Reservations are apparently of no value at this place, and it should not be on OpenTable in my opinion.
Food was fresh and local, service was very good. I had dietary needs and they were very accommodating.
Need to write 50 characters to leave a note
fresh seafoods and diversity of wine, staffs were so kind. crap cake and fresh platter is my recommendation.
The service was good but the food was a bit slow to come out even though there were not a lot of people. The servers or helpers were pretty intrusive. They stepped on my shoes a couple of times reaching over the table to pick up plates. Salmon was undercooked. Decor is outdated and need some care.
Great view Food and wine also good. Very nice service. I believe our server was Alonzo. He was excellent.
Girls first time going to Giants game. Waiter was sweet and attentive
The food was excellent as was the service. Beautiful view of the waterfront. I will definitely dine there again on my next visit.
We had a very good time except I remember my boyfriend's birthday being acknowledged.
Thank you for creating an enjoyable overall experience.
We ordered three meals, two of which were very good, but the third was overcooked, dry and had to use a knife to cut a piece of fish.
Great choice of tables inside and outside with superb views
This restaurant was reccomended to us from friends and I have to say I’m gald we went! Great location, food and staff! Our server Kelsey was fantastic and we loved that the maître d (not sure if he is also the owner) came by and checked in with our table. We sat outside and it was a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Spectacular waterfront setting. Good service and delicious food.
We were led to a corner table with an impressive view of Treasure Island and the Bay Bridge. The golden glow of the sunset melted into the Bay as the magical lights of the bridge began to flicker. The attentive service provided a leisurely beverage hour followed by delicious salads and chowders and soups and fish and shellfish. Our waiter was professional yet friendly, helpful but not intrusive. We had a wonderful evening with fiends in town from Florida who were enjoying San Francisco's version of seafood. The Waterfront is a solid choice for some of the city's best seafood dining.
The service was great, food delivery perfect, and the food was fine. Have been going to the Waterfront for years, probably 50 times.
Excellent food and service.
We made a great choice for lunch, and we'll try it again for dinner in the near future. Loved everything about it!
Really great time was had by all. The host is delightful and he made all of us feel special.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday afternoon late lunch before walking up to ATT Park for a Giants game. Picturesque view of the Bay complimented teh food!
Rafik was our waiter and he was great!
The whole staff treated us like special guests, from the owner to the busboy. everything was fantastic.
Host and Hostess both very gracious and accommodating. Service prompt, very good food, and a terrific view of SF Bay.
The atmosphere was dry and boring. The view was great from the outside patio but the weather was extremely cold. Cold winds found their way through the porous doors and windows. For an expensive restaurant like this, you would think they’d place heaters outside as cold winds are typical on the San Francisco embarcadero. And the food was awfully pricey. We indicated in our reservation that we were celebrating our 1yr wedding anniversary and had hoped for some kind of recognition - a complimentary dessert or even just a verbal acknowledgement of it, but nothing. There’s nothing about this place that made us feel special. I will not be returning nor will I be recommending this restaurant to any of my friends and family. It was unfortunate.
Views of the Bay Bridge light show and the SalesForce tower and light show were just wonderful from our table on second floor of restaurant.
Predictable, last century approach to seafood. Too much had spent time in the freezer and all the seafood on the mixed grille was over cooked. Dry, dry, dry. Best thing was the fresh arugula. Was visiting the city, and wanted a water view. Saw mostly piers. Acoustics not good; child on lower level making bird sounds echoed throughout the entire space. Waiter was bored. Prices too high for both the food and the service
Food was delicious and service was excellent. The view of the bay is beautiful. They have a lot of window tables and outside seating when weather is good. The mussels were especially good with a delicate, flavorful sauce.
Excellent food and service.
