Dining selections, •Shrimp DeJohgne—delicious, bite size shrimp, well balanced seasoning, light breadcrumbs, would have been nice to have bread to soak up the remaining sauce! •Wedge Salad—simple presentation, fresh, crisp, tasty light dressing, satisfying. •Crispy Lake Perch—Wow!!! This restaurant has the best prime rib in the Chicagoland region. Perfectly cooked to temperature, served with a delicious red wine reduction and thoughtfully accompanied by a blueberry-tinged horseradish dipping sauce. Delicious. The sides were outstanding. The wedge salad is presented beautifully and the house made blue cheese dressing is the best I’ve tasted anywhere. The whipped potatoes and roasted vege mix were freshly made and piping hot. Our server, Hope, is the definition of great hospitality. She is warm and engaging and made excellent suggestions on the craft cocktails, which are not to be missed. Her pacing of our meal could not have been better. Atmosphere is fun — like a clubby little speakeasy hidden behind a street front retail space. This place is terrific. Go discover it!

A wonderful experience; pleasant ambiance. Chatty bar area separate from well-spaced dining area. Short rib, steak frites, coq a vin, and Thursday $29 supper club special were outstanding and perfectly cooked. Excellent server Melinda helped make our celebration very special. Will definitely return.

My wife and I have lived in Geneva for 23 years. Tonight we tried the Walrus Room for our Anniversary. The atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy. The waiter, Cooper , was incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the drinks and menu items. The food is fantastic. I have had the blessing of eating at very prestigious restaurant around the country. The Walrus room is one of the very best I have visited. The owner, Marshall, is extremely friendly and welcomed us at our table. The food is very well portioned and absolutely delicious. Seasoned perfectly and expertly prepared. You must treat yourself and visit the Walrus Room. We will become regular visitors after tonight.

The service and ambience were great. Loves this place and so wanted to list it as a place to rerun to again and again. The food was good not great - for the price and portion size, not a decent value . i had walleye - good though extremely small portion for the $. Hubby got steak and likes it a lot. fries that came with it were good but just normal, nothing special

Have been to this restaurant several times in the last two years, always with positive experiences. Unfortunately last night was just the opposite. Not sure why things have changed so much. Here are my listed observations and disappointments: - although my Old Fashion was fine, it was a very light pour. Rocks glass with large block cube makes for not much volume. All for $14. Not sure why downtown Chicago drink prices have made their way to Geneva for a basic cocktail. - $18 Burrata and focaccia appetizer had tomatoes that were at least a week away from being ripe and the bread so hard the steak knife barely cut it. - $55 9 oz New York strip steak came somewhat rare after ordering medium and meat quality was way less than one should get for that price. Accompanied by only an included side of fries it totally lacked value. - An attractive quality of this restaurant has been its reasonably quiet vibe and romantic ambience. A desirable separation of the more typical bar scene or high vibe places in the area. Not last night as high volume uptempo music played so loudly one almost had to shout to be heard at a table for two! Went there to celebrate our anniversary at a quality place with a romantic feel. A total miss this time…. But in fairness, they do offer a free desert to celebrate the special occasion. Thanks for that.

Its been a while since i have been to the Walrus Room. Cocktails were outstanding, very happy that Art History beer on tap and the wine list is nice. Our food from appetizers to main course were phenomenal, exceptionally fresh and full of flavor. Actually split the steak frites and walleye(Wisconsin surf and turf), which both were excellent choices. The service from bar to waitstaff was also great!

100% recommend dining at the Walrus Room! I can't wait to go back. The FOOD!! It is sooo delicious! The bread was perfect. The mussels were so unique and yummy. My scallops were to die for. I follow Isaac on social and the food is as wonderful as it looks on his socials! He is so talented! The service was excellent. Chris was thorough in describing the menu and the specials and she really did a great job making sure we had everything we wanted and needed. I love the vibe here too. The music, the artwork, the color palette ... Truly a Geneva Gem!!

We have always enjoyed Walrus Room - like the wedge salad, clams/chorizo, walleye. I just felt the menu needs to be updated, more creative and fresh. It seems like the basics have been there a while and don’t appear to be evolving. The Geneva dining scene is competitive and I don’t see this restaurant growing and thriving unless given some attention - has all energy gone to the alchemist?.

Our first time experiencing this restaurant, we were taking a day trip to Geneva IL and came across this restaurant stuck away. The food, cocktails, service and ambience (Suffer Club Feel) is a must experience if ever in the area.

First time at this restaurant and was impressed with the overall feel of the room, the ambience was great and the people working there are terrific. Everyone was super friendly, our server Linda knew the dishes very well, and everything was served with good timing and great presentation. On the way out, every single person working in that restaurant bid us a good evening. Speaks volumes about the importance of their customers. Thanks for making it an experience and not just a meal. We'll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our 1st Walrus Room experience!! We loved the Alice in Wonderland inspired space. We were greeted by the most genuine hostesses and enjoyed a wonderful cocktail at the bar before our reservation. The server was patient with us as we had lots of curiosity about the menu. Some in our party enjoyed the Friday night special - fish fry. They said the coating was light and perfect which brought out the fantastic taste of the perch. There were so many unique fish options on the menu! I had the scallops which were mouth-watering! The flavors in the accompaniments were delicious. We also tried the burrata with the melon and prosciutto and it was fabulous! The wedge salad is very generous in size and flavor. Our service was great - perfectly timed/not rushed! It's safe to say that we will be back to try more menu offerings! Well done Walrus Room!!

Cute place—service was outstanding. Food was amazing —had the special halibut—to die for! Wine recommendation of True Myth-awesome.Loved that every person introduced themself, greeted our table—plus it seemed like they all pitched in and did whatever needed to be done. Will definitely go back.

Adorable little place that would be awesome to go to with friends. Drinks were delicious! Cheese curds were yummy too! The steaks were kind of plain for $55. They looked broiled and didn’t have much flavor. We stayed away from the pepper crust because we don’t care for spicy foods. We were disappointed that it wasn’t grilled. I’d go back for sure, but I would probably stick to appetizers, drinks, and burgers instead.

We decided to try the Walrus Room for our wedding anniversary. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the Saturday prime rib and it was huge and it came with a wedge salad and 2 sides. He is very picky about his prime rib and really enjoyed it. I had the Walleye which was also delicious. It was a smaller portion than what I would have expected at that price point but still very tasty. They gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary which we were pleasantly surprised! Usually when I choose birthday or anniversary on OpenTable, the restaurant ignores the notes. We appreciated that they acknowledged our anniversary. We recommend this restaurant will definitely be going back there again!

My wife and I had the trout and the walleye. Both were excellent. Ate in the bar area and it was loud. People forget to use their “inside” voice. Maddie was a great server. Our first time at the Walrus Room. We will be back and soon.

Another outstanding dining experience @ The Walrus Room. Our meals [Halibut (3) & Steak & Frites (1)] were all well-prepared and well-received. Hostess and server both performed in an attentive, professional manner. Bar staff, after our dinner, was busy but retained focus and high-performance service standard toward our group. In summary, another overall great evening and dining experience for our group @ The Walrus Room !
