The Wallace Restaurant is a London dining experience just waiting to be discovered. Flooded with natural light and dotted with trees and sculptures, the restaurant offers an elegant lunch and afternoon tea in a sublime setting protected from both the elements and the bustle of the West End. Stop by our stunning courtyard and enjoy our drop-in café.

Make a reservation for:
A La Carte or Set Lunch Menu any day between 12:00 - 14:30.
Afternoon tea service, 7 days a week, between 10:00- 16:00.

Please provide any dietary restrictions and/or allergies at least 48 hours in advance so we can guarantee accommodation.

We kindly ask all guests to vacate the building by the museum closing time of 5pm.

Very disappointing experience, menu choice is wintery and unimaginative, very limited. Air conditioning is needed, on a hot day it feels like we were eating in a greenhouse. Food quality disappointing and service lacked friendliness .

We enjoyed our experience, our waitress was very attentive and made us feel comfortable. The bar was very slow but she helped by chatting to us and made us feel relaxed. She seated us in a shady area on a very hot day. Excellent staff. Janet

THIS EXPERIENCE WAS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB AND WORTH EVERY PENNY (OR SHILLING)!!! I have to begin by saying that I'm generally skeptical regarding "big ticket" venues that are popular and publicly touted; having found that many such experiences are overblown and more about the show and less about the quality of the experience provided (especially with regard to the quality of the food). But this was NOT the case with the Wallace "Delusions of Grandeur" Afternoon Tea - which was simply a peak life experience, from start to finish. As I've noted in other reviews, the true test of a high-quality culinary experience is when you take that first bite, and immediately are compelled to issue an involuntary groan of delight, followed by the equally uncontrollable impulse to share the experience with your dining mates, ala "You MUST try this!!!" Such was the case here, where every single item (four individual sandwiches, four sweet treats) was off-the-hook delicious. My wife and I kept looking at each other, and going, "OMG, you have to try THIS one!!!" The ONLY point of disagreement was which one was the best (although there was a certain degree of convergence regarding the braised beef and mash tart). And when we had worked our way through all of the amazing offerings, the experience was capped with a cup of hot chocolate, which we both agreed was THE most delicious we had ever had. So yeah, I booked our tea several months in advance with a certain degree of cynicism and skepticism regarding how it would be (I knew it would be "fun" but didn't anticipate much beyond that); but walked away with the firm knowledge that this was truly a transcendent culinary experience.

The food on the set lunch menu was very good indeed. This kitchen knows how to cook vegetables and the balance of flavours in all dishes was perfect. The restaurant itself is not as good as the food as the decor is a bit bland and the service could do with sharpening up.

The food was quite good, but a little cold. We had to move tables as the rwo seater tables meant sharing a two seater sofa with complete strangers on the next (very close) table. Not conducive to a lunch with a friend. The restaurant had a fantastic ambience, but the prices have really increased lately e g £16 for a glass of fizz!

The venue is wonderful, service great but the selection on the menu is disappointing and could be so much more, although the food was tasty. It really could be a very special place if it was upgraded. Also not ideal for people with disabilities as the toilets are downstairs with steep stairs although there may be a lift.

It was an expensive tea at £50 each. There was more food than we could eat and there were no boxes provided to take the remaining food. We were asked which water we would like and then charged £5 20 for the bottle. Service charge was added so the bill was £118. More than we had anticipated.
