Last day of ski season and they were short handed. Waiter was good and did a great job keeping up with little support
Gorgeous view of ski mountains with an amazing fireplace centered in the middle of dining area. Food was excellent.
Four of us dined at this restaurant and found the food to be delicious, the wine excellent, and the cocktails quite enjoyable. Our waiter was prompt, courteous, and helpful. One entree was overcooked but good nevertheless. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
The only thing I can comment in is I asked if salad area was free of nuts because I was highly allergic. The waitress assured me that they would pre clean and make sure there was no contamination. I actually had an allergic reaction after we left the restaurant. I would just suggest trying to have nut free area .
Food was amazing and a great atmosphere
The best atmosphere, food and service we have ever had. Highly recommend.
Very nice experience, Cory our waiter was very attentive and friendly.
The menu choices suited us well, and each course was delicious!
Beautiful location. Great service. Steak could have been more tender.
Great service! Delicious food! Fabulous view!
The old restaurant was much better. Especially for a family. Everyone we know loved the old restaurant.
Everything was excellent!!
Good American fare. Accommodating with dietary restrictions. No kids menu. Its a pre fixed menu for everyone in the table. The view is fantastic.
Excellent service w Kory at Mountain Lodge the view, quant seating right by the huge lodge fire, overall excellent!
Our Halibut entree was dry and way overcooked
The rest of the dinner was delicious
$200.... Poor atmosphere. Smelled like chlorine in the dining room and people in robes and wet towels walking through the dining room. Awful experience and would never recommend EVER.
Vacation from Florida
The restaurant itself is beautiful. Fantastic setting. The pre-fixe menu had some good options on it and the food was decent not great, and two dishes came out cold. The waiter seemed nice and very helpful initially. However, he attempted to overcharge us $120+ because he accidentally keyed in an entire bottle of rum and again an entire bottle of vodka rather than an individual drink. Then there was an auto gratuity of 22%. I generally like to think the best of people, but hard to see someone accidentally doing something twice in a row, not to mention the 22% grat on a $1100 bill. Hopefully it was an honest mistake but I had to catch it.
the food was outstanding. Great value for the price. nice ambience.
Food was excellent and service was great. Server brought a taster of two wines to try which was most appreciated. Had the fixed price four course meal and every course as well as the sides were delicious. Would definitely recommend.
So great! Amazing service. Kory was the best waiter. Price fix menu was terrific. Loved it.
Fabulous food - everything was delicious, terrific waiter, and very nice ambiance (we sat by the fire!). Our party tried the steak, chicken, and fish along with appetizers and dessert. Loved the chocolate mousse! But everything was great! This was a very special dinner that we will remember for a long time. And thanks again for the shuttle ride back to the gondola station (it started snowing so this was especially nice)! The View has a great view, but beyond that it also has great service and great food!
Great view. Excellent service. Truly, best service on a long time. It’s a prefix menu, for $65 you have 4 courses with dessert. Worth it. You should stop here if you are in Telluride!
It is prix fix menu but worth it! Staff extremely friendly. Food is fabulous.
Great service, try the paella and the mixed green salad with the pecan vinaigrette dressing.
Excellent service and the food was incredible! I really enjoyed the pre-fix menu and felt it was a great value for only $65. It was more food then I could eat!
Great food. Great views. Really good service. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Great food and service, loved the ambiance!
This appropriately named restaurant--the view from the dining area is beyond compare--has been our Telluride favorite for about 10 years. We've always had a 5 star meal for quality & value. The upscale, indoor pre fixe effort is a nice alternative, given present dining restrictions in Colorado. A meal by a crackling fireplace in the Lodge is "what you want" after a day of skiing or hiking/biking (in the Spring/Summer/Fall). My wife's brie quesadilla was truly delightful, while my artichoke dip was quite nice. The leek bisque she ordered was excellent, and my Caesar salad was fresh and clean. She enjoyed her NY strip over campfire beans while I went for the comfort of grilled chicken breast over au gratin potatoes&corn. Both were just perfect, as was my creme brulee. Highly recommend the chocolate studded big whiskey bread pudding which was the star of the meal.
Absolutely Wonderful! This was by far the very best dining experience in Telluride!
This was a beautiful evening...Food exceptional and service super. Best Valentines day ever!
Outstanding meal and service. My wife loved it, so did I.
Everything was absolutely delicious!!
Would definitely go back again to try the other stuff!!
Everything was fabulous! From our arrival welcome, through every course and our departure, we were treated to an amazing dining experience. We were greated warmly, seated promptly, and the food and wine suggestions were perfect. All of the four appetizers: Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, Pan Flashed Mussels, Brie Quesadilla, Grilled Artichoke, were sampled and thoroughly enjoyed. The salad and soup options were delicious. Everyone raved about their entree. I had the Blue Cheese Basted Petite
New York Strip medium rare w/Campfire Barbeque Beans, Grilled Asparagus and Tobacco Onions. It was amazing! The steak was prepared perfectly and the Campfire beans and smoky onions added a casual flair to an amazing dinner. The desserts were over the top and delicious. The vanilla bean ice cream served with the Chocolate Studded ‘Big Whiskey' Bread Pudding was decadently heavenly! Everything was plated beautifully. Their team provided top-notch service. Can't wait to return to The View!
Lovely quiet atmosphere in the lodge dining area with beautiful views of the mountains.-great service and fine food.
The food, service and ambience were very good, but the prices were outrageous. $10 for a bottle of water that I did not want. I asked for water, assuming a pitcher of table water would be coming in my direction. No! An overpriced bottle of flat water was opened and served before I could say anything. As stated, the meals were very good, but also very, very overpriced. Value for money- definitely not at this place!
Waiter was not personable. Food was disappointing. Not happy with the set menu. Would not come back.
The surroundings are unbelievably beautiful. Value is great. Too bad the food is poor., Had "new york strip" a very easily identifiable cut. What we got - was nothing like it, not a strip, and of very poor gristle-quality. Left most of it.
The Food and Service were fantastic. I would recommend The View to anyone and most of all I would take anyone there. I will go there again!
The prix fix menu is well intentioned but too much of a reach for the kitchen. For instance, the beef carpaccio delivered on a hot plate, not cold! By the time it arrived, it was thinly sliced well-done filet.
The halibut entre was crazy spicy hot. I mean like, habenero hot! It was too hot to eat and we eat spicy food all the time. Also, it was served too late after it was cooked and plated as it was both cold and overcooked by the time it was delivered. Didn't eat.
The paella was contrived. Paella is formulaic and the chef went off formula and created something that should have a different name. It wasn't fidebua and it wasn't paella. Call it "seafood mishmash with white rice" as it had no flavor and they even made a point of saying, "saffron scented rice". That didn't mean there was saffron in the rice because there wasn't any.
Desserts were creative and mostly delicious. The chocolate mousse was fine, even excellent as well as the creme brulee, but the bread pudding wasn't good. It was contrived in a sheet pan, sliced up and dry.
Wine list was satisfactory with good choices and reasonable prices, but I wouldn't go back.
