When you name your restaurant The View, you’d better keep your windows clean! Comfortable seating. Just okay food.

Food was very good. The view was excellent. Depending one where you are sitting. The service was outstanding.

Honestly it was pretty disappointing. The waiter seemed very fake, it took 30 minutes to get our drinks and over 50 to get our food. We booked a while in advance and asked for a nice view, and although there were plenty of open spaces at with nice views, we got stuck at a table so I had to have my back facing the scenery. It was a wedding celebration and just felt tacky. The table next to us ordered coffee and got it, but when we ordered coffee the waiter said they were out and could get some from downstairs but it “would be old”. Like just make another pot, bro. When my husband ordered a beer toward the end, it didn’t come until we got the check. Just very slow all around and very disappointing wedding experience.

It was our first visit to The View, and we wanted to like it. It is appropriate named, since the view is very nice. We had a bit of trouble locating the restaurant once we were on the Chaminade property - more signage would be helpful. We appreciated the complimentary valet parking. The hostess brought us to a nice window-side table, and mentioned that we two couples were celebrating anniversaries. Two members of our party ordered steaks, which they really enjoyed and were cooked nicely - however the accompanying fries were cold, and when we asked for them to be replaced, they didn't arrive until we had all finished our meals. My salmon was fair, as was my friend's halibut. But the potatoes on her plate resembled charcoal, rendering them inedible. We ordered a bottle of bubbly to share, but once it was poured, our server never returned to refill our glasses, which is standard fine-dining service procedure. The last reason for my mediocre review is that although both couples were celebrating our anniversaries, there wasn't any acknowledgement such as a complimentary dessert for us to share. I'm afraid this was a "one and done" experience - we didn't find it a good value for the expense of the meal.

I really wanted to love this restaurant. It was a disappointment from the very beginning. It took our server over a half hour to get to our table for the first time. The food and drinks did come out quickly. Once we ordered however, the brussels sprouts that were supposed to be roasted or basically raw. The other entrées were OK, but nothing really fabulous. For the price and the extra 4% service charge I will give this a hard pass the next time.

A great spot with an amazing view! Our server was fun and did a great job. Our food was fine and presentation was nice. I wish management could get it together… it always seems to be chaotic. The wine glasses never match, twice they’ve run out of martini glasses and served my drink in a brandy sniffer. this was the first time we had great service and the food was good.

Beautiful day, beautiful view, excellent menu - my friends and I were impressed with The View restaurant (first time for 2 friends, many times for me). Staff was helpful, accommodating, friendly, pleasant and agreed to take a photo of us on the deck. Overall, great experience and one of my favorite restaurants. Highly recommend!
