The View at Mountain Lodge Telluride, led by our new Chef Lonny Shepard, offers an exquisite alpine cuisine experience focused on locally sourced ingredients and healthy options.

In 2023, The View proudly won the OpenTable Diners' Choice Award for Denver/Colorado, recognized as the best for scenic views and the mountains' best for brunch.

The View is easy to get to and offers breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains. The elegantly designed great room features a cozy fireplace, lofty ceilings, and stunning mountain views, creating a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy a meal in the dining room or out on the pool deck.

The View is just a short walk from the Village Market gondola, or call our front desk at (970) 369-6001 for a complimentary shuttle ride from Mountain Village Core or Village Market gondola.

We had a reservation for The View on the patio which we were surprised to find was just the pool deck of the Mountain Lodge. We were splashed by children throughout our dinner and it was fairly noisy with families playing in the pool. The food was OK, but we knew that it wasn’t supposed to be spectacular prior to going there based on reviews. Would not recommend this place unless you’re staying at the Mountain Lodge and just want to grab a bite at your hotel.

We were a bit unsure about going to The View (with guests) because we hadn’t eaten there before and because it’s a hotel restaurant. Holy Hell- our doubts were forgotten almost immediately. The service was professional, the ambience was quiet and pleasant, and the food was top- notch. My Caesar salad was just the right size and sported some lovely croutons and generous shavings of parm. My trout was perhaps the best I’ve had in Telluride, and I order trout almost everywhere I go. The fish was crispy and not soaked in brown butter, and surrounded by a plethora of gorgeous assorted mushrooms and a glistening roasted carrot. Truly a memorable plate. The peach pie was ample for the 4 of us and was incredible- not overly spiced, allowing the Colorado peaches to shine through , along with the very good pastry. Go to The View soon so you don’t miss this dessert! But really- just go to The View. You can thank me later.

Great view, of course. The food was surprisingly good. We ordered entrees, not just burgers, and were extremely pleased. My trout was perfectly cooked and the presentation/ ingredients were inventive. My family will be back!

The ambiance and design was incredible! However, for a luxury restaurant we were a little disappointed that none of the food was seasoned correctly. The ragu was way too heavy on pasta, you could tell that they didn’t season pasta water with salt at all, and the serving size of the elk in the sauce was extremely minimal. The sourdough bread it was served with was the best part of the meal. Maybe it was just a poor serving, because I wanted this to be way more of a culinary experience. It looked incredible still.

My husband & I had a wonderful time at "The View". Everything was amazing, food was delicious, ambience was perfect, staff was so nice especially Erin! It was my husband birthday and Erin made it so especial by offering surprised Champagne and delicious birthday cake! Thank you Erin!!

Drove in and got our room walked up and had a wonderful dinner. Perfect for a long day in the car! Chicken pot pie and braised beef shank were delicious. Pricey but that is expected in a mountain town resort. Staff was very friendly and nice.
