Cash grab. Everything on the menu is overpriced for what you get. I also booked a room based on previous visits expecting the room to meet similar priced rooms elsewhere... was disappointed to say the least. I will not be returning to this establishment.
I gave it 3 stars because I'm not an animal and I respect hard working people. And by that i mean the people grinding it out in valet, registration, and in the kitchen. Otherwise, this place sucks.
The venue is breathtaking, and the cocktails were amazing, but pricey ($16). So if you just want drinks and a view and don’t mind paying Las Vegas prices this venue is awesome. They also have themed nights that sound fun and we likely will check out in the future. They were also very flexible with our reservation change. The basic ingredients were good in our plates (Fish Tacos and Lasagne). We gave three stars because the dishes lacked the spark of creativity a great recipe adds. The veggies on the side of the lasagne were bland and unseasoned. No cilantro on the tacos, no fresh herbs. For the price point we expected more. Still, likely will return if only for drinks and appetizers.
Service was a bit slow. Food just ordinary. Limited menu. Nice outdoor space and view.
Outdoor seating is peaceful, meaning noise level is nice and low.
Nice evening...good service...wonderful cocktails.
All went well and staff was accommodating in seating two unexpected guests.
Really great quality food. It’s right next to where the resort hosts weddings so be ready for that.
The view at the restaurant exceptional, hard to beat the stunning view however the food was just okay. Not sure why they have such a limited menu at a "Resort & Spa". They supposedly had "Tapas Tuesday" however their menu really did not have "Tapas" super limited. If they expanded their menu this would be a great destination restaurant.
We ordered salads with undetectable dressing. The salads were very small.
The main courses were overcooked and dry.
It was very difficult to get the attention of our waitress.
Wonderful peaceful dining experience overlooking treetop and water in the distance
Don't eat here..we booked a table in the shade because we were bringing our dog. Our reservations were for 1:30. We arrived and the hostess told us they don't serve food until 2:00. OK well why didn't someone tell me that when I made the reservation? Or why didn't someone call me? She said she could seat us and we could have cocktails until 2. So we walked in...but wait everyone in the restaurant was eating food!!! HUH?? I asked why the other people had food and she couldn't give me an answer. So we sat down and asked if we could have the umbrella moved to our table since I requested shade when I made the reservation..she said yes I will have someone move it right away. 20 minutes later we STILL didn't have shade and we were roasting and we STILL didn't have water or a cocktail. I asked the waitress and she said it wasn't her table. Well who's is it then?? no answer. We walked out!! I asked to speak to the manager and of course He/She was not available. IT WAS A TERRIBLE experience!! Save yourself a headache and eat somewhere else!! The worst part was it was our anniversary and they ruined our day. DON'T EAT HERE!!!
We had a wonderful lunch with a great view.....
We enjoyed our meal there but was really frustrated when three different people messed up and never corrected the problem. The waitress only brought my husband a drink finally a guy came around with a whole bunch of waters and offered at the water. I asked him for a straw which he said he would be right back with and never came back with a straw. The man who brought us our meal asked if we needed anything else and my husband asked for Parmesan cheese and crushed red peppers. He said he would get them right away and be right back. We waited and waited and waited and finally decided to eat that lasagna without it. He never came. Our waitress never came back to check on us the entire evening. We had to flagger over to get our bill. We also overheard from the table next-door that she forgot to bring their bread to them. And then it was too late they had already eaten their dinner when she came back to check on them. So overall the setting was great the food was great but the service with all three people we worked with under performed. And I have never had a waitress not come and check on you even one time during your meal. She took our order and never returned until we flagged her down for a bill. It’s not a cheap place for dinner, so we were really disappointed with the service. We are usually big tippers, this time only 15 percent.
Liked the view, they brought heater when requested, drinks and tapa dinner good. We are staying in a nice patio room so glad we had a nice dinner right here!
Large wedding going on right by our table. Not a good place to celebrate a birthday. The beef short ribs was really pot roast. For 36.00 pot roast it left me pretty upset. Nothing special about the food. However the local caught salmon dish was very nice. Service was slow as expected with a restaurants in this environment. 22 corkage was fine but the server never poured the wine. Sad and average all around.
I have been here once before a while ago and was excited to eat here again. Online when I booked the reservations, it was confusing saying i had to book it at 1:30 pm on Saturday. When we arrived brunch was over and appetizers were only available not a full menu. The service was very slow. No one could seat us till 2:00 pm and it was slow, tables were available. Then we sat for 15 minutes before a waitress came over to ask for our drinks. Then we ordered appetizers and food was not so great! Overly greasy beans and calamari was fishy. Nachos should have real cheese just saying not your ballpark "nacho" cheese. We ate because we were hungry and than sat for 45 minutes and our waitress never came out to give us a check...no one noticed as we walked away from table into bar...i could of walked out but we didn't. We went to the bar area and finally after 10 minutes of sitting there, we said something to the bartender that we hadnt' paid. Weird experience for such an upscale hotel restaurant.
I really hope you improve overall experience.
Loved the locale and the breakfast menu was loved by all the whole party. Just a nice place to have a nice catch-up meal in a quiet setting.
We stayed two nights at the hotel for my husband’s birthday. The first and second dining experiences at the View were great. The food was good and our servers were awesome. The third time, my server forgot about me and I sat for over an hour waiting for my breakfast. I was frustrated by the lack of communication. My server came by once to tell me they were busy and my food would be up soon. But then I sat waiting for another 25 minutes for my order. Finally, a manager came over and explained there was a mistake with my order, and provided a discount. But to be honest, it would have been nice if the server had just apologized. We all make mistakes, I get it. But in the future please keep your customers in the loop.
Loved the ambience and the view was spectacular. Friendly service good food.
They make a great experience. The food is good enough; the deck is very pretty, service is prompt but not intrusive. Not cheap, but worth it.
We went to enjoy the view and lunch. View was as good as always....cant help it there was fog! I was disappointed in the meal. The salad was very small and boring, the chicken on the salad was less than average. I would expect a more pleasing meal for a $17 salad. My daughter had a small quesadilla. it was unmemorable. Overall, the best thing about the lunch was a glass of house wine!
Food was delicious, with a nice offering of selections. Sitting outdoors on a warm evening with trees and the Monterey Bay in the distance provided a relaxing setting. Service was attentive.
Would definitely come again for special occasions.
Service was slow and live singer was not enjoyable.
From the moment we walked in the door, the staff ignored us. No one ever came to our table to greet us or bring drinks for our brunch. We asked 3 times simply for water, and it was never brought to the table until I offered to go get it myself—and then the person who brought it slammed the glasses down in front of us. I had to go to the bar to get mimosas for my wife (her one request for Mother’s Day lol), and a kindly bartender followed me back and got drinks for our family. When it was time to pay, we had to find someone to get our check and take payment, which took a half hour. We easily could’ve walked out without paying because the staff was so unaware we were there. Even the hostesses ignored us when we walked in and didn’t tell us our table was ready—we had to ask them after waiting a half hour and were told, oh yeah it’s been ready…and we were sitting right next to them. For the high prices Chaminade charges, this is an inexcusable experience, and we’ll never go there again.
Absolutely horrible service. Will never return. Too many problems to list. Please look at the Yelp & TripAdvisor reviews!! I wish I had.
Amazing view, amazing food, & fantastic service
Mother’s Day brunch at the Chaminade was a total disaster. Terrible food, terrible service and had to even beg for a glass of water. The fish tasted very fishy, paid close to 500.00 dollars and spoke to others who said the same about their brunch at this location. It has been a long time tradition and we will not be back. We won’t be back.
Very expensive food station buffet. Long lines, poorly and inefficiently laid out. Food at best warm by the time returned to the table. My daughter had a $75 cheese omelet. All in, $300 for a party of 3. Never again!
I have been here before and had a great experience. But, came for Mother’s Day and had a very rough experience. $70+ per person and my husband’s food was cold. We waited 30+ minutes passed our reservation to be told our table wasn’t ready and asked “if I understand the state of the world.” No apologies, no Happy Mother’s Day, no comped drink to apologize.
Stayed at Chaminade and ate at the View 3 times. Every meal was missing 1 or more items. Had to request water refills, salt and pepper etc. many times.
Horrible service! Why take reservation at 8:30 if you close the kitchen at 9. Kids food arrived 15 minutes after adults dinner. 2 tacos and colds chips for 20 dollers. My server never offered dessert everything was rushed. I should of doordashed it. Sangria was awful??? 258 dollers later we left hungry and not be able to order anthing after 9 pm from the kitchen. We saw our server twice and still they had service added to the bill. I like to say we actually had a wonderful lunch a day before. I believe her name was Pam
Excellent server. Thank you Pam for treating us with kindness and respect.
Beautiful setting. Music was pleasant, not too loud. Food choices were acceptable.
Staff is young and new to the service industry and need time to grow.
Only two entrees? Really??? And you were out of one. One Entree? What? And it
was meat. No choices for vegetarians!! Poor service. Never go to The View on
a Sunday night.
The view was amazing food was very good would love to see more on the menu. our waitress Estella was the BEST!
Great Food and Ambiance was amazing. Live music was a plus that night!
limited menu, no bread offered with lasagne until we asked more than once...waitress was very helpful...will go back
Excellent service and high quality food, amazing view
Given the rating of 4 stars previously provided by guests, we were surprised by our experience.
The menu was not the same menu as noted on the website as it was very limited. The food was equivalent of the food type and flavor found in a cafeteria. I ordered the burger which had a patty that was dry and overcooked.
We were disappointed and the cost was that of a high end restaurant.
The food was not very good. My husband ordered the Benedict and the English muffin had no flavor and seemed to be freezer burnt. The fried potatoes that came with it also had no flavor and just a mushy texture. We saw another guest abandon their dish as well.
