The Union Kitchen (Washington)
At the union Kitchen outdoor dining is a year-round event with ceiling fans and air coolers for hotter days and heat lamps for cooler nights. Just perfect for enjoying an wonderful meal outdoor.
The Union Kitchen offers ice cold draft beers and a huge selection of American and International wines. Imagine a place where while enjoying some Mimosas you can order eggs Benedict and watch your favorite sporting events; and all in company of friends and family.
The staff was so attentive and the location itself had so much space for social distancing! Loved the ambiance as well!
Great to see Union Kitchen Washington open again... a wonderful place for brunch!
Disaster. Didn’t have wines on the wines list. Stored red wines in a fridge. Staff clueless what wine is. No one had any idea what a decanter even is. Had to leave and go to another restaurant.
As always Union Kitchen never disappoints! I love this place!
I love this place! To be honest it's been my go-to place for a while but my ONLY go-to during the pandemic. I can definitely see the staff are going above and beyond protocol with the cleaning and mass wearing. The staff is always pleasant, attentive and friendly. Their menu has variety without being too overwhelming. You can never go wrong with anything that you order. I love going for brunch especially.
On time service regarding reservations; waitress was knowledgeable of menu and specials; very cordial, no lag time between requests and delivery. Food was delicious, out of the norm with flavors utilized in preparing dishes. Was not too crowded, very attentive staff.
SOOO glad this restaurant is back open. I had the grilled salmon, risotto, and sauteed spinach. It was better than I remember. Plus Greg was back at the bar serving our favorite beverages. The carnita eggrolls were a new item and they were excellent! Thank you for some normalcy in these crazy times.
Was great to have this location back open! This is a favorite for the neighborhood for weekend brunch. Food and service were great as always! Definitely recommend. Enjoy the mimosas!
Our fave spot in Rice Military! Excellent food and service with proper social distancing and sanitizing/disinfecting.
Union Kitchen on Washington is the best brunch place in town.
Glad they are back open. Missed the brunch on Sundays’
Enjoyed some of the biggest crawfish ever last Sunday evening. Others in our party ordered pizza and meatloaf and ate every bite and reported it was all great! And that was after an assortment of appetizers and before some beautiful and tasty desserts. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent restaurant, disappointed they changed the menu.
Due to the lengthy illness and recent loss of a family member plus the onset of the Coronavirus, we had no plans for our 25th anniversary, so we went out to have a quiet (not fancy) dinner at Union Kitchen. The service was extremely slow, the food was ok and no one did a thing to elevate our experience for the evening as less than average, except allowing us to select our table. I wasn't expecting anything over the top, but I was hoping for engaging. It was not.
Good happy hour. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it was good, not great, but the price was very reasonable. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the steak was great, but the julienned vegetables were too salty and garlicky. I didn’t poll my friends on how they liked their dishes, but I noticed everyone cleaned their plates.
Enjoyable meal in a casual setting. Reasonably priced, with nice daily specials.
Went for brunch. The omelette were very bland without any flavor. I placed order and food came out quick, but not hot. I won’t go back
It’s was great, I just did not like the fact we were near the kitchen, however I waiter was absolutely amazing!
Courteous attentive staff. Worse variety of food options. Nice happy hour prices on the drinks.
The service was amazing and the pricing was reasonable. Food was great and the drinks were amazing.
Food was delicious... had the lobster and eggs and it was fantastic... I really like the options for breakfast here, it has it all for everyone tastings. We didn’t have the mimosas this time but that is a must. Cappuccino is also a must, strong & flavored. Love the valet parking, specially on the weekends.
Great food and the waiter was friendly with good service, particularly for it being it Valentine's Day. We will definitely be back..........................with friends.
It was over all a great experience.. The food is always amazing and our waitress Madison B. was awesome and very attentive.. We highly recommend Union.
I love this location! The wait staff is extremely attentive and welcoming. The food always comes out hot which is great especially when you are having great convo with a friend and you don't have to worry about it getting cold right away! Came by for brunch and Their menu did not disappoint! lots of selections and choices you can't go wrong with anything!
Every time it's fantastic!!
We were greeted before we even reached the door as it was held open for us by a host. We were seated immediately, and our server was friendly and professional. Our entrees were hot and flavorful, and our glasses were never empty. A nice touch was the surprise brownie to celebrate my birthday. Lovely decor and ambiance; we will definitely return.
The server was disorganized and forgetful. He was friendly, but forgot things, made a mistake on an order and seemed too busy, and then when I asked for half of my meal to be put in a To-Go box, it got thrown away. It was half of the trout filet and risotto with vegetables. I was very disappointed as it was to be my lunch the next day. The server did give us the Begniets for free (after I asked him), but offered no other restitution. So I paid full price for a meal that I only got to eat half of. This is the second time we have eaten at this location, and both times we have left disappointed with the service. The location on Ella is great and we never have these issues.
The biggest challenge with Union Kitchen is the taste of the food. We ordered the wedge salad which was fine. We also ordered the seafood eggrolls which were okay; they could have improved it by using a more interesting sauce than jarred sweet chili. I had the scallops with risotto. The risotto was really good but the main part of the dish, the scallops were terrible. They weren't buttery like they should be but instead really fishy and the texture was a little off too. My husband ordered the lobster grilled cheese and tomato bisque which he said was just okay-- kinda bland. At first our service was really good-- we got there early due to a show we were heading to downtown. As the place filled up our server struggled to keep up.
Union Kitchen on Washington never disappoints... the food and the service combine to make Brunch a great experience!
Great service...nice environment...great for a date or family night...food was delicious...fair prices.
Outstanding food with some additional items on the menu we have not tried before. Visit was for a business meeting and the second time we have met here. We will meet her again and my fellow board members suggested it for the next meet. We meet on Monday night so reservation not necessary but should be made thru Opentable if you want.
Location great just inside loop off of I-10 and Washington. New so it was clean! The Table of people next to us were way too loud!
The staff is amazing. The food is off the charts! Will definitely be back!
Server was the WORST ever. He was tall skinny young man with curly dark hair. He had NO people skills what so ever. I felt sorry for Greg the other server was trying to do the job of 2.
This young man could not bag groceries at Kroger.
I like UK and am a some what regular but if I ever get this server again I will walk out.

Service and food was great!!
The food was delicious. The portions are generous and the prices are great. The drinks choices were outstanding. I can’t wait to go back!
The location is good but parking is a nightmare. Food is just okay.
I really love the service
Go here often. Excellent restaurant & bar. Great happy hour prices. Greg the bartender is a real pro.
The restaurant is in a fairly bland modern business/condo building and the atmosphere is kind of starkly contemporary. The service was friendly enough, but almost intrusive. The food was OK but not great. Probably won't be back again.
