The Union Bank—affectionately known as "The UB" to locals—is a unique dining destination in the heart of Orange. With its rich heritage charm, it offers a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.

At the Schoolhouse Restaurant, our flagship dining space, we take all bookings. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, our stunning courtyard connects all areas and offers the perfect casual setting. While we don’t take bookings for the courtyard, you’re welcome to request it in your booking notes, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll be happy to seat you outside!

For group dining, The UB offers several private spaces, ideal for gatherings of 8 to 40 people. Whether you're hosting a business meeting or celebrating a special occasion, we have the perfect setting for you.

The iconic and heritage listed Union Bank building is spoilt for private event and dining spaces. Whether you're after an intimate private dining room, or the whole Schoolhouse restaurant, we have plenty of options. Spaces include: The Lobby is a small and intimate private dining room for up to 8 guests. The Bank Room is a large private dining room for up to 18 guests. From when we arrived until when we left the service was amazing. Our waitress suggested a selection of entrees and a couple of main meals to share. Everything was lovely!!! We were all so impressed we even stayed for coffee and dessert.

We had an amazing family dinner at UB on Sunday. We were given a lovely private dining area. Our server was amazing, graciously putting up with our shenanigans. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.

A really enjoyable dinner at the UB with a great menu designed for sharing & an outstanding winelist, predominantly local products, which is exactly what you want in a wonderful wine region like Orange. When we return to Orange, we will be sure to return to the Union Bank.

The Union Bank is a favourite of ours. The staff are fantastic, the food is to die for and the courtyard and gardens provide a wonderful relaxing atmosphere.

Service was slow we waited 25 minutes for a waiter to explain the menu. Food time extremely slow, took about an hour just to get our entree and another hour and half for our mains however we left before mains were served due to the slow service it was 10:40pm when we left and still didn’t have our mains. We also requested three different types of red wines, until they finally found a bottle which was in stock. The bottle we requested was a 2019 bottle of Pinot noir, the waiter said they only had the same red but in a 2022, and they still charged us the same price for a younger bottle of wine. Overall the feeling of the restaurant is they want to be up market and charge accordingly however between the waiters and food quality they aren’t in this category yet.

The luncheon was really beautiful. The food outstanding service was prompt and the girls were pleasant.

The food was exceptional as always. Beautiful surroundings, great staff and the UB Spritz is always a winner! Looking forward to many more visits to come.
