About
The food was mediocre. I went for a birthday dinner and made reservations three weeks out when I got there I had a cake brought in and only after bringing the cake did they mention a $25 cake free. One waiter said if we cut it ourselves they would waive the fee but apparently that wasn't the case. Somewhere there was a miscommunication but our main waiter took care of it and that I did appreciate.
We made reservations for Father's Day. The service was sub-par, the server only refilled 1 drink once (out of 11 people). 2 of the 5 kids did not receive their dessert - we had to ask if they got it as well before the options were given. One of the fathers, at the end of the meal, asked if there was a special for desserts for dads. Our server stated he would ask the manager. When he came back he told us that the only Father's Day special was the one that included a meal for $30 (& also included dessert). We stated that we were never told about the special & the server just kind of shrugged. Spoke to a manager who then offered dessert & gave discount cards for the next visit if we gave them another chance. The mahi mahi one person ordered was dry & overcooked, the shrimp & grits was a very small portion, the fried shrimp plate was returned because the shrimp was very fishy tasting. Once we received our checks, we noticed it stated "gratuity 20". The menus state that a party of 6 or more will automatically be charged 18% gratuity so we were expecting this, however it had 20 next to it so we looked more closely. The actual checks (we had 3 checks) ranged from 20-27% gratuity added to the checks. When we asked the server about the amount of gratuity added,he shrugged & stated that the manager added it on there. Asked to speak to the manager again, who did notice that the gratuity was incorrect. He rectified that issue, however we will not be going back. Poor experience all around.
Really slow to get food after we ordered. Had to seek out water refills repeatedly. However, loaded fries appetizer was DELICIOUS!! The food was good and hot when it got to us.
great friendly staff, open kitchen, huge salad bar, great desserts. you won't go away hungry.
If this was my first time at Twisted Fork, it would have been my last. REALLY slow service, but great food. Assuming someone called out and they were short handed. Definitely not the norm.
Went for a birthday dinner. I had the mahi-mahi (grilled, not blackened) with ghe grits and fried okra. It was delicious! I would certainly get this again. Husband had the NY strip with the garlic mashed potatoes and fried okra. He said it was not bad but the steak had some gristly pieces. The $3 beer special is worth ordering. Service was great, and our waiter was friendly and talkative. Very good and varied menu selection.
Me and my bestfriend had a good time it was really calm and quite felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant but it was good had a lot of 101 time other then our waiter coming every 15mins it was good
We asked to substitute BBQ pork for chicken on a he pizza and they were very accommodating. The pizza was excellent. Great crust. Even better taste. It would compare with the best pizzeria style pizza.
Staff was really friendly. Atmosphere was modern and clean.
This is one of our favorite places to eat. My daughter picked Twisted Fork for her eighth grade graduation lunch. The food and service is always great. We will return for anytime dinning.
The restaurant itself would probably get a better rating from me if it was not located at a mall that is clearly going out. Many of the surrounding spaces were vacant and the restaurant essentially was, too. It is not a lot of fun to eat in a ghost town.
The meal was terrible considering how high the Twisted Fork was rated. Service was pretty good but everything else was rough.
We went to Twisted Fork in lieu of a suggestion from Dean's Seafood in Cary because they were completely sold out. The quality of the food and was not the same. The best service we received was from the GM . He checked on us several times and was very attentive to our needs. Unfortunately he was not the chef.
Had a reservation at 1:00 checked in at 12:45. Hostess told us to have a seat. After that she kept seating other people that didn't have a reservation so we waited for about 30 minutes & still wasn't seated so I asked her how much longer before we would be seated. She said she forgot about us. I don't know why that was possible since we sat right in front of her. Really put a damper on my Mother's Day. That's why I made a reservation.
Quick service. Delicious Mother's Day brunch buffet.
Mother's Day brunch was great. Very busy but not too busy that we couldn't get food in a timely fashion. Really wish they had an egg chef or fresh waffle option but given the crowd size I'm not sure if that would have been feasible.
Annual Mother's Day Brunch. Food was OK but may of the items were running out without a refill while others sat out too long. The layout was cumbersome causing everyone to walk up a ramp to the higher seating level just to turn around and walk down some stairs to get to the buffet line.
The French toast tasted good if not a bit to much vanilla which also made the toast look dark and unappealing. The Poached egg with brisket was very good. Scrambled eggs ranged from creamy in the first tray to dry and hard in the subsequent trays. The small round rolls were too hard to cut. The biscuits were good and the Grits were excellent. I didn't try the sausage gravy.
As with most visits to twisted Fork, the dessert station stole the show! the Choc Mousse cups and Tia Maria cookies were fantastic.
I loved it! Food was great! James did a great job!!
Great variation than menu. In had the chopped steak w potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Delicious. My friend had bbq and chicken combo. She loved hers too and she had a huge piece of dessert that was great. I had a pineapple spicy margarita that i,could have drank two more of but didn't haha. $3 beers, all beers, and liquor specials are coming soon. Were real glad Twisted Fork opened back up after the fire. I hope it gets lots of business.
A great BBQ joint. Beer selection is jammin'. Deserts are delicious.
Met with goddaughter to plan wedding.
Overall the service and experinece was good. The beer can chicken was surprisingly dry even with the very tasty bbq sauce on it. The cheerwine chicken and bleu cheese potato cakes was devine and flavorful. The bbq nachos were good and spicey. The server and management was very accommodating.
We were a party of 7 celebrating a birthday and using the birthday offer Rocky Top Hospitality emailed us. We had reservations made thru Open Table. Our server Bob was the highlight of the evening. The food was decent, and the servings ample. Two people in the party ordered fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were too hard to bite and required a knife to cut. A fork would only make an indentation in the crust. The salad bar was very good. The medium rare burger was perfectly cooked but lacked much flavor. It was topped with some of the inedible fried green tomatoes. Although we were asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, no acknowledgment was made whatsoever.
We ordered 2 dinners to go for a couple who couldn't join us. Those were pathetic. The Shrimp and Grits ($15) had a skewer of 4 nickel sized shrimp on a bed of grits with BBQ sauce poured over. The other dish was Jambalaya ($17). The portion hardly made enough for an appetizer: 3 pieces of shredded chicken, 1 sausage coin, and one shrimp. Possibly 1/2 cup all together. In hindsight we probably should have checked before we left the restaurant but the manager brought them to us in a bag that was closed and we had no reason to believe the portions would be minuscule.
We had 2 $25 gift certificates Rocky Top had given us as an apology for failing to fulfill their food contract at our daughter's wedding. (No crackers to go with the pimento cheese, well done beef tenderloin when we ordered rare, and they ran out of chicken before all the guests were served.) The Twisted Fork manager didn't want to accept the gift certificates, siting that their policy is not to combine deals. We reminded him that we weren't combining deals. Gift certificates are virtually money. He balked. We reminded him again and he said "Oh, alright. If you really want me to accept the gift certificates I will". I truly believe the pathetic to go dinners were a direct result of his attitude.
We were very disappointed with the Easter brunch. I have been there before and thought it was great. Unfortunately, this time was just the opposite. All of the meat was fatty and greasy. The egg on the brisket Benedict was over cooked-it was hard boiled. There was no flavor with the food. I had to use salt, which I never do. And no seafood or variety. We could have gone to Golden Corral for half the price and more of a selection.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
Awesome glad I went there for brunch! Yippee hooray
It was fine. Quality of the non breakfast foods was very good- barbeque, greens. Salad bar was obnoxious- plates the size of a saucer and the dressing I had- blue cheese, was stretched to the point of tastelessness.
This was a special Easter Buffet, but the restaurant is NOT set up for this - very difficult to maneuver with waiters and guests going opposite directions. Food was mostly tasty, but nothing that was outstanding. Waffles and bacon were limp. Wasn't a special buffet at all, and it was too pricey for what was offered.
Easter buffet. Too many barbecue style dishes which lacked variety. Should have had ham. Breakfast buffet was better than lunch selections.
Not kid friendly re the vegetables. Maccroni and cheese dry and too spicy and green beans were like mush. Would like more choices for fresh vegetables. Salad bar attractive and fruit very good. Rolls hard. I don't eat all that pork so would like other poultry dishes. Wait staff very nice and efficient. Dessert table very nice.
We booked a table for 3 for the Easter Buffet Brunch and it was fabulous. Everything was delicious, presentation and organization of items was good, and service was friendly. Would definitely do this again.
Great service, food, desert, and beer!
This was the first time I've had a bad experience here. Normally, my food is great and I usually don't wait more than 20 min. for it. However, this last visit, my food was overcooked and not what I ordered and it took almost 45 min. for my food to come out. It seemed that all the wait staff was having to help a big party on the other side of the room. Was disappointed, but will give another shot.
Last minute reservation for four.....Had the NC Pulled Pork BBQ which was very good. Shrimp and grits were just ok. BBQ Pizza was great. Also, house Porter Beer was excellent.
Overall I was unhappy with the menu and the selection of foods. We hadn't been back here in a while, so this was our first time back after the menu change and I was disappointed
Food was great, atmosphere is always laid back. Server was pleasant. Great Beer selection including Red Oak!
We decided to try the Twisted Fork and were not disappointed. Reservations were reassuring but not needed to grab the Sunday Brunch. All were delighted at the dining experience, and the dessert presentation/content was truly amazing. We reflected on the ambiance from the well-attended patio, where Andrew was attentive to our needs without hovering. Looking forward to our next opportunity at this highly recommended venue.
Food was delicious as usual. Service went above and beyond. Our waitress was extremely aware of food allergy issues and was very careful with my daughter's order. Was disappointed that they could no longer verify that the oil in the fryer was not peanut so my daughter couldn't have her favorite fried brussel sprouts.
This place was great! Great food! They smoke their own meats - yum! The staff was awesome. Thank you!
Great food and good service. The BBQ is excellent.
Our first time dining here and the BBQ was excellent and service was good.
