We ate lunch at the Trellis on Monday Dec. 30th. It was crowded and, a party of ten was seated ahead of us. Then, the Hostess took a party of two ahead of us. No problem, we waited...My husband ordered his burger "well done" and it came out as medium rare. Back it went. I shared my turkey club sandwich with him, which, was very good. Our Server catered to larger parties and we had to ask another lady to please bring our check. I will chalk it up to the so called "holiday season stress" and will try The Trellis again hoping for, better service and food.

The food is a pales compared to when Marcel Desaulniers was the chef and owner of the Trellis. The entrees lack depth and the desserts are a shadow of their former line-up and the cookies offered today are certainly not "Trellis" cookies. It makes me sad to compare the present incarnation of the Trellis to it's past glory. At least I have happy memories of having experienced this cornerstone of Williamsburg dining at it's high point.

We ate lunch here. They have inside and outside seating. We chose inside. We enjoyed the lunch special if BLT with cheese and fries. Staff was courteous and helpful. Would go there again.

I had not been to the Trellis is a long time. It has since changed hands and I was hoping it would of been just as good Unfortunately, its not. We had a good meal and decent food, but the service was off, the food all arrived (Salad and meal) within minutes of each other and in general was simply good. With so many restaurants in the area, I doubt I will return. They Death by Chocolate remains wonderful.

Trellis is a lovely restaurant and we enjoy dining and desperately want it to succeed. Our experience last weekend left a bit to be desired. We had the trout entree which was stuffed with a cornbread/crayfish melange. While it sounded good, the stuffing overwhelmed the delicacy of the fish and left something of a miasma in the end. It was served hot and the appetizer of oyster BLT was imaginative and quite good. It far surpassed the entree. Everett is a talented chef who can deliver cuisine that rivals anything in DC, but Trellis needs his devoted attention.

Sorry this restaurant is leaving Open Table. We had eaten here over 20 years ago and remembered it so fondly that we made reservations to return on this visit to Williamsburg. It was as attractive and delicious as we remembered!

Dining experiences at The Trellis have not always been consistent for us in the past, but on this occasion nothing could have been better. Food, service, etc. We have a favorite table and often in the past our request has not been honored, but on this evening it was waiting for us. A very pleasant evening.
