The Travis - Lakeway Resort & Spa
Great view. Service is top notch. Food was not that great...We ordered a pizza. It was hard bread, warm in some spots. Tasted like a cheap oven pizza.
Only one restaurant at the hotel and it is very good but a little pricey
Service was slow w/it being a slow night. Things on the menu was not available. Had to remind our server for our drinks.
Dined in this restaurant a few time while we were staying at the Spa for the weekend. The staff was very nice and welcoming- Remembered our names when we returned and went the extra mile to make our trip great.
Our first time, had dinner with a table for 2 near the window. Service was excellent. We had a 7pm reservation and we tried to order the Lamb shank and they were out already, so we tried for the Eggplant cannelloni, and they were out of that too. so we settled for salmon and chicken. Food was good, nice portions.
This is definitely a hidden gem for the Greater Austin area. The food was remarkable and for price the resort is lovely.
This was our first time at this restaurant. The decor looks a bit dated and the tables and chairs were in pretty rough shape. The food was really good though. I had a filet perfectly cooked and my wife had a Cannelloni that was also nicely done. Our server was super on top of things and the dining room was still quite busy when we were sat at 835p on Valentines.
All in all we will try this spot
Again during the day for the views and outdoor patio.
I would not recommend this place to friends as I did not like the ambiance nor did I like the layout of the restaurant.
Valentines Day Dinner...
Average food - portions reasonable - pricy for what was delivered..
Not a favorite to go back to..,
Maybe we went on the wrong night but I this was nothing special...
This is the worst place to go!! We sat down for valentines dinner after driving over 1 hour, waiter never asked if we wanted any kind of drinks(we ended up with water), after asking about a appetizer we said lets try that. Finally got around to ordering meal(I've never seen ANY restaurant that has no sides with a main course.... you can purchase sides). SO, for a $36 steak, you get one piece of meat.... nothing else. So, we order, half an hour later we ask about appetizer, he finally admits he forgot to order it. We didn't wait around for anything else. Got up, talked to manager who tried to help but we were so frustrated with this place we left. They ruined our valentines for this year. We also canceled the whole resort stay as well.
DON'T GO HERE
Service was awful and they were out of a few main things on their menu which is why I wanted to try this spot in the first place. Was disappointed we couldn’t order what we wanted, but the rest of the menu tasted great.
Staff were attentive and really wanted to provide good service. Enjoyed the view, the wine, and the food.
Joyce and her team were amazing
Our waitress was amazing and vertical attentive. The food was good but for the price I wish it was more of it. We both had the crispy salmon, although delicious it was served over a handful of beans. For $38 I wish my meal came with a salad or some vegetables as well. Overall the restaurant is nice
The staff was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable and having a good time.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. They gave my girlfriend and I a complimentary bottle of champagne and a free dessert for our anniversary!
Had a great time with family here!
I had ask for a round table with a view. We received neither. Although the food was good, it was nothing special for the price and unfortunately wasn’t hot.
We went for Father's Day on a Sunday and they had a buffet or your could order off the menu. We ordered off the menu and had a great lunch. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, restaurant and staff.
Very pleased. Good food, attentive service and overall excellent value for money.
Breakfast is buffet. That is made abundantly clear as are reservations required. Reservations weren’t required the place was empty.
We say that the “buffet” is abundantly clear because despite the allacarte menu you will be reminded at every turn that the buffet is there. Personally not liking buffets. I prefer allacarte. My dining companion wanted an omelette. He was told to go to the buffet they make omelettes there. I opted for eggs Benedict. His omelette was allegedly less expensive if he went to the buffet. That’s not accurate but a matter of two dollars is not worth quibbling.
The eggs Benedict presentation was well presented but it is apparent in this resort that no one tests their recipes before they are unloaded on the public. The drinks at the pool bar were no exception. The eggs Benedict while beautifully presented had vinegary hollandaise sauce and very hard ham/ Canadian bacon.
We would have liked to be sat outside but we were sat next to an obnoxious group that were overtly speaking loudly and so honestly this was not a great experience. The buffet is abundant and very nicely presented however, we got what we came for nothing more. The prices were comparable to food outside the resort. Service was meh.
Great views of the lake but the food was bad and over priced!
Very friendly staff, but the food wasn’t seasoned well. I’d like to have more options for filet sauces- the three sauces they offer are really similar, and I did not enjoy. It would be nice to see a béarnaise or blue cheese option for the steak. The desserts were delicious, and the view of the lake is beautiful.
we had a reservation for valentine's day and were a bit late because the restaurant is kind of hidden within the resort. none the less, we were seated immediately and the service was excellent! we both had ribeye which was tender and very flavorful. we also had the cheesecake that was delicious! we will definitely return!
Zile was very attentive. Caught an error on bill that saved us $48! Crab cakes fabulous. Salmon Not Fishy😁! Would go with flourless chocolate cake. Good for Gluten free 😍.
We stayed at the resort and didn’t want to leave the property so decided to eat here. The ambiance was nice as was the view. Our server, Cherry, was friendly, professional and attentive. She made good suggestions. We loved the tortilla soup, calamari and redfish. The mashed potatoes and dessert could use some work. All in all, it was exactly what we were looking for, and we were happy to have a good dining option at the resort so we didn’t have to venture out.
I wrote in my reservation that it was my fiance's birthday. Nobody on the staff seemed to know. Not sure if this was a glitch in software or people not paying attention?
Easy walk from the hotel and beautiful outdoor seating. Both the waitress and host were very accommodating and polite, with a good sense of humor. The best part is the view of the lake and dessert. The food was okay, but definitely not the reason we would return. You pay for the atmosphere.
The food was delicious and Jeannette was wonderful.
Didn’t honor our reservation, all food was cold
The service was outstanding. I had a filet ordered medium rare. It was a little on the rare side but melt-in-your-mouth. The grilled artichoke appetizer is a must have. And it's a rare find for happy hour - 4-7 seven days a week.
This place has improved considerably! We've always loved sitting outside and seeing the sunset over the water. Now the food and service are worth going for! The South African hospitality program servers are wonderful.
While staying at Lakeway we went for dinner early at about 6:00. We sat and they had a buffet available which we decided to eat. We ordered a cocktail and a beer and 20 min later after I asked several servers the drinks finally appeared. Way too long to wait in drinks!!!! Mexican buffet actually was good. Nothing spectacular but good.
Based off of the bio on open table and yelp I chose this place for our 11th year wedding anniversary. Since we are new to the area thought it would be nice to see the local resort. Finding the restaurant was a challenge, no direction what so ever. Was treated very nicely. View was great. But the restaurant sits over the kids swimming pool. The atmosphere was not very nice, reminds me of just basic hotel restaurant, dark, windows were very dirty, needs to be upgraded. The service was very good and the food was very good. Their cheese board needs a lot of help though, they should really look into that. Their Filet was outstanding and my husband had their pork chop and he said it was the best pork chop he has ever had. If we came back we would sit at the bar because the rest of the restaurant area is not worth looking at.
Mother’s Day. We didn’t do the main buffet event just the normal dining room. I will return to the restaurant
Ok restaurant. I had higher expectations for the quality of the food and for the price it should have been better.
DELICIOUS!!! From the truffle fries to the generous portion of redfish to the flourless chocolate dessert, it was amazing!!!
Food was fresh, with great flavor. We sat outside, however it overlooks the pool with Lake Travis waters beyond and not quite next to the water experience.
Great place! Friendly staff! Please keep up the good work! Thank you! God Bless!
