   There were three of us dining here for the first time. Our waiter was Sam and she was great. My wife and my son were impressed with their dinners (crab cakes and meatloaf respectively). I had the risotto and was slightly disappointed. Overall good experience and looking forward to bringing other family members here too in the future.

   Beautiful, unique decor with striking antiques and three levels overlooking a central space containing a stage, tables and a large bar. The walls are brick and there is lots of polished wood and warm lighting throughout. An antique brass elevator took us to our table on the second floor. Our entrees, though not unique, were delicious. The portions are generous and our waiter was very friendly and professional. The live band started at 9 pm so we had drinks downstairs after our dinner and even danced a little. Overall, The Tobacco Company provided a great Saturday night out for me and my husband.

   Ran out of the desserts we wanted by 830pm on a Saturday and the level of attention towards guests by the host that seated us was poor and rushed. Our server was pretty decent but had to be reminded about extra soup bowl and steak knife. Ambience was very good!

   We had a variety of dishes, including filet mignon that was delicious Seabass that was very good seafood pasta. That was very good salmon. That was very good and Caesar salad. We also enjoyed the bruschetta on appetizer and the shrimp cocktail. We like it spicy so we got extra horseradish for the cocktail sauce.

Culinary offerings include Southern-inspired dishes such as fried green tomatoes topped with bacon onion jam and white cheddar pimento, blackened Cajun catfish over Carolina Gold rice pilaf, and a decadent pecan pie drizzled with caramel sauce.     We were in Richmond for a conference. We would not frequent this place even if we lived in Richmond. The food was decent - my husband's food was cold. The cocktails that I ordered were delicious. The server was very knowledgeable an enjoyed educating us on the rich history of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is super cool. If I was to come back, I would just enjoy drinks at the bar and have an appetizer or snack. There are lots of steak choices if that is what you are in the mood for.
