The Tavern at the Peter Allen Inn
My family, a table of 8, had dinner at Peter Allen Inn. The wait staff was wonderful, food was delicious, and ambiance was beautiful. We will definitely be back!
Food, Service, and Atmosphere were all amazing! Have already told all my friends to go.
First time at Peter Allen Inn. Beautiful facility. Great menu options. Fantastic server. Quality food and ingredients. Patio area needs shade. Dining in direct sun especially on a hot day detracts the experience. Tarps fans and better table positioning are viable and affordable options.
1st time there. Lovely. Menu not great, but ok. Do pretty i will go back
Ordered the roasted chicken. It was dry. Rolls were very hard. Other family members ordered the burgers. They were cooked to order. Overpriced for what was received.
Food is always delicious. Waitress ordered the wrong meal for one of us.
We had reservations at 6. Were seated promptly. While waiting for our other two family member ordered some drinks and appetizers. The drinks were delicious. The charteutre board was good and the hot peppers in oil were as well. Well as the other family members arrived, we each placed our order. It took over an hour to get our food. The place had some other patrons outside but not busy and the bar area was totally closed off. The food arrived and was sub par. Two of us had the chicken breast. It was fine, but lacked flavor and was luke warm. My husband had the pappardele pasta and it came out looking like a green mess. It also was very bland and not very warm. My sister and I had the lobster ravioli. It was not how I or her envisioned it. It was extremely salty, the dish was described to be in a butter type sauce. That would leave the impression of a light color and tasting sauce. It was a dark green, brown looking sauce. Not at all what we expected. Salty, and again, lukewarm at best. My brother ordered a hamburger and even though they didn’t make a mess of that, he would have liked provolone instead of a cheddar cheese. The waitress said she would ask, but the chef doesn’t like changes to the menu. “He gets mad”! So after the eating, the server did come by and did ask if we wanted anything else. We told her no, and we asked why such a long wait. She gave no reply.
I have eaten here before. I have never had such bad food, nor bad service. If the COVID thing has messed up your timing and business, please let the patrons know. We brought two new people to the Inn, raving about the place and were totally dumbstruck in how the food, timing, and attentiveness was not given. Will try again, but am sticking to basics in the food category!
Dinner was awesome as always! Our waitress Anna was great!
We celebrated an anniversary and had a great experience dining in this historic building. We will certainly return again.
I forgot our 28th wedding anniversary so our 29th had to make up for last year. Peter Allen Inn was recommended by one of my Ohio customers that had been there. I made reservations & hoped that all the reviews on Peter Allen Inn were accurate. They certainly were. Everything was above our expectations. The Inn is beautiful on the outside & inside.
Food & service were great. We can't wait to go back.
The ambiance was amazing! Service was good, although slow at times. Food was touch and go- some items outstanding and others mediocre at be at. We will be back for a second try!
We have fined several times & even held an event at the Inn, so we decided to bring our family from out of town. Out of the 7 meals, 1 was only good. The steaks were overcooked & had zero flavor, the potatoes were under cooked. It was very disappointing as we have had great experiences & meals in the past.
This was our first time at the Peter Allen Inn. We had a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and encouraged us to walk through the inn and look all around. What a beautiful place! We ate in the tavern and we Each had a lunch special. It was fantastic. My husband and I both could not finish our meals, it was so much. We had cocktails, and they were fantastic. The prices are beyond reasonable. We will be back often!
The Inn was festive, elegant and dressed for the Christmas holidays. The food was French region and presented nicely. The waitress was schooled about the dishes and was professional and warm. I go to the Inn often.
Very good meal and service. I have been there numerous times and always pleased.
This was my third time at the Peter Allen Inn. I have had only great experiences. The most recent visit was lunch with a friend to celebrate her birthday. The food, the company, and the ambiance were all great! Looking forward to returning for another great dining event.
Was unaware of this venue until seeing an ad in the Jefferson Gazette. Tremendous venue! Every detail of the renovation is just beautiful; the food is outstanding; the ambiance is romantic and remarkably satisfying; and the service is friendly and effecient. My only regret is not knowing about this establishment sooner. A real gem.
The food was excellent, the service was good and the overall experience was great.
Great food nice atmosphere
Food....delicious!! Server was great!! Beautiful venue!! A very enjoyable evening had by all!!
Ordered pizza. Very little and cheese and mushrooms. No flavor must have been out of box frozen?
Salmon. Not much flavor think it was steamed?
Had the Pot roast. Meat was dry and not tender. Sauce had a strange “vinegar taste. Pride of Kinsman was listed on the menu. Kinsman should be ashamed!
We love Peter Allen Inn. We went with friends - has a fabulous time. Our server, Jenna, was just the sweetest girl. The food was great, and we love the atmosphere.
Everything was nice... although fly's were a nuisance. We sat in lower level, bar area.
We had a party of eight and were seated promptly at a round table requested. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great. The filet was outstanding.
Awesome great service great band on patio
The service was poor. There were flies buzzing all around because the doors were open. My pork chop came without chutney and I had to asked to have the chutney brought out. We were not informed what the specials were. We were the first reservation at 4 o’clock and it took a half hour for food to come out. Overall we were rather disappointed by the whole situation.
Went to the Peter Allen Inn for a birthday dinner. Service & food were both great. Was able to tour the house and grounds and thought it was a beautiful & well maintained setting.
Service was slow and took a long time to get food and drinks but waitress was very nice - just too busy. Salmon was over cooked. Large salad not that large. Likely not to go back
The evening before the 4th of July. I think they were a bit understaffed. My dinner wasn't even warm, microwaved and very good. Been there several times, this was the first time they didn't get a 5 star. They did not have our reservation from open table. Fortunately there was room for us.
Outstanding dining experience. The ambience, food and service was fabulous. Our waitress, Debbie was superb; one of the best, if not the best, ever!
Our first time visiting here. It was a perfect setting for our little anniversary celebration. Had a quiet table by the fireplace in the tavern, just where we wanted to be! Considering the torrential downpours outside and tornado warnings, we were comfy, cozy, and contented in a beautiful atmosphere. The food was outstanding. We finished our excellent dinner right before the power went out! We will definitely return in the future.
Top notch food.
Going back again!
As always the food, service and atmosphere was absolutely amazing!!
Great atmosphere, service was in total disarray. Who ever is managing the wait staff has to re evaluate what exactly thy are doing.
It’s hard to carry on a conversation when a duo is playing and singing music. Volume too high for my liking during dinner. I did not know that there was entertainment when I made the reservation. Next time I know to ask beforehand. Otherwise, our experience was very good. I would of given an outstanding rating if it wasn’t for the noise level..
Visiting from California and am very happy that we found The Tavern. Looking forward to returning to this lovely place.
This is a hidden gem recommended to us by a friend. Beautiful inside and out. Worth the drive, We’ll be back!
Filet mignon was over-cooked and sent back. While I sat and watched my spouse eat dinner alone, I was served a cold baked potato. After picking at that, my meal finally came a second time. By then spouse was done eating and ready to leave. Super disappointing. The last time we ate here, they lost our reservation. Very disappointing experience.
What a wonderful place! Loved the Salmon dinner and Greek pizza. Our server was so nice and helpful. We will be looking forward to our next visit. Hopefully dinner on that beautiful patio.
