Swiss Haven is an amazing hidden gem in Breckenridge. It's a charming restaurant with incredibly friendly staff (we hit it off with our server extremely well). Having spent a significant amount of time living and travelling in the German speaking parts of Europe, we also found it to be incredibly authentic. The Raclette was simply to die for. We had been craving and thinking about it all throughout some grueling hiking earlier in the day and it went beyond our expectations. The only downside was that the menu is on the pricey side. Nonetheless, it was definitely one of the favorite meals of our trip.

The man with a scarf and quilted jacket made quite an ordeal with "Do you have a reservation" which unbeknownst to us was held with our phone number. That was just the beginning, after he sat us in the middle of an active walkway, he left without handing us a menu. The waiter, realizing after 5 minutes that we didn't have a menu, apologized and handed us a menu. We ordered four appetizers and two entrees (one appetizer was to be served as an entree) we were a party of 3. 20 minutes later three appetizers and one entree arrived. 12 minutes after that the last entree arrived to the guest who had to wait a total of 32 minutes. We returned one of the appetizers (who wants to juggle entree and appetizer at the same time! Confused? So was I! Perhaps I should have spoken in French, maybe the basics of restauranting would not have gotten so lost in translation. This experience was very unfortunate, I was looking forward to finishing our time in Breckinridge with a Swiss dinner at the Swiss Haven. Unfortunately, I can not recommend. il sont très confus! Pas pour moi!
