A restaurant that celebrates the splendour of British seafood and produce from local farms.

We are delighted to use the finest of local producers, farmers, and growers of the region. Seafood will always remain our focus. Oysters from Pinneys of Orford, fresh fish from Wightman based in Lowestoft, as well as meat from Salter & King in Aldeburgh, we are incredibly lucky to work with the best.

We sat outside on the Terrace, in the sunshine, overlooking the sea, and ate the most delicious Brill. Helpful, knowledgeable staff from the moment we stepped over the threshold. Good value all round.

We sat on the terrace on a beautiful sunny day and ate lobster and drank rosé. What a perfect way to spend a few hours.

The Suffolk was a new experience for us, but it had been highly recommended. The greeting was friendly and welcoming, the dining room was stylish, tasteful and had a wonderfully calm atmosphere, but the food!! We had deliberately chosen a Sunday to avoid the traditional Sunday Roast habit and given this was, and is a fish focussed restaurant, it looked like we'd struck gold. To be blunt, the food was outstanding. Lots of fishy food to choose from plus a couple of meat options for those that couldn't drag themselves away from a trad Sunday lunch. My Langoustine Bisque was simply fabulous, and the roast Cod and new potatoes to follow was absolutely amazing. Simple, subtle flavours cooked to perfection. I could go on about my partners Moules, which she said were perfect, and our scrumptious desserts, but I'm not on the Guardian list of food critics... Oh, and the service was impeccable. Bottom line: The Suffolk has joined our select, short list of favourites. An absolute gem of a restaurant.

The food was amazing. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout and we absolutely loved our visit to the Suffolk. Its in a perfect location and we can't wait to go back.
