Step into the limelight of The Stage, where the drama unfolds with a spectacular programme dedicated to Champagne and life’s great delights. Set across three acts, our Champagne bar in London serves a Champagne breakfast, Champagne afternoon tea with house-made patisseries, as well as a Grand Finale of cheese, charcuterie and more. The star of The Stage is our reserve collection of Champagne – choose a signature favourite from the Champagne trolley, or opt for a delicious Champagne cocktail. The Stage also hosts regular live music performances to accompany your dining and drinking experience.

Beautiful, clean hotel which smelt amazing. Friendly staff welcoming you into the hotel. Was initially welcomed by a hostess who stated she would be with us throughout our afternoon tea and then after she brought us our drinks we didn’t see her again. Sandwiches were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Good portions for 2 people. We then welcomed two sultans and two plain warm scones which were very tasty served with fresh clotted cream. Jam and lemon curd - all we delicious. You were then asked to go to the glass counter and choose 2 cakes each to finish. The cakes were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I couldn’t fault the taste or freshness of the afternoon tea at all and the level of drinks choice. The downfall was waiting and trying to get the attention of someone to refill the drinks. The hostesses didn’t make a lot of eye contact to see if you needed anything which was disappointing and our second hostess was not the smiliest person. I will also mention that the bathroom was the loveliest I have ever been in….heated toilet seats and full bidet and dryer. I would recommend and revisit.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Delicious food and lovely teas. The area by the bar got very busy due to an event and it seemed to take away a lot of the attention from greeting and serving us. It took about 15 minutes before we even ordered our tea. For the price payed, and the fact we were staying at the hotel, we found it slightly disappointing to have to wait so long for this and to get our orders in for further teas. The music was wonderful, however.

I am a regular at The Londoner but never tried afternoon tea so I thought I would. The food and service was excellent as expected. My only criticism were the ambience and noise. I was surprised the afternoon tea was at The Stage because 1) it is by the lifts so there’s porters and guests constantly walking past 2) it is by the “communal” seating area so there’s guests hovering around and waiting to check-in or just lingering 3) there was a event so the people attending the event were crowding around us being loud, taking photos, and causing a distraction 4) on top of this noise as the pianist so it was hard to talk and listen to my friend I am sure there are many events so this wouldn’t have been a one off. The pianist was amazing but it was an extra level of noise we didn’t need. Because of the location of The Stage, it just happens to be the general congregation area or meeting point for anyone so that creates extra noise. In my opinion the afternoon tea should be at The Residence where it is blocked off by the public and away from the reception area. At The Residence you can still hear the pianist and it’s an area where people mostly will be having a drink or something to eat and not causing a distraction.

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea. It was absolutely lovely. We liked that they brought out the sandwiches first then after a break the scones(these were so delicious) and then we got to choose our desserts. The entire staff is fantastic and the nicest people ever. It was such a nice way to spend a mother daughter afternoon. We highly recommend it! Now to figure out how to make those scones at home!

We enjoyed our afternoon tea and found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel was lovely and the food was very nice. The only downside came at the end of the meal when we didn't get the 30% off that is advertised on their website.
