   Drove from Kilwinning for my wife's birthday dinner, table booked for 7pm and when we got there, the restaurant was closed. My wife wrote an email and was giving a really blunt reply back "that's a shame" really not good enough, the food may be really nice from what I hear but the service is shocking and from what I've seen we aren't the first people this has happened to

   Family meal at the Sorn Inn was enjoyed by all. The food was cooked to perfection. Those who had starters enjoyed them very much. The venison was delicious as was the fillet steak and the fish and chips. Nice touch hazelnut liqueur on the house. Just the right amount of food. Desserts were also very tasty. Liked the mural on the wall, good music not too loud. Service was excellent, waitress was very cheery and friendly. Will definitely be back.

   It was wonderful to be back at The Sorn Inn. The menu was short (4 starters, 4 mains, 4 desserts plus the grill) which I like because you know they’ll do it well. The new chef has stamped his mark and the food was beautifully prepared and presented. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The owner was friendly and delighted to get feedback. Will definitely be visiting again.

   A hidden gem in a quiet village offering a range of quality food that you would expect from a fine dining restaurant - the steak is highly recommended and the staff are extremely helpful- definitely going back there

   My husband had steak he said it was perfect and he is fussy how it is cooked 10out of 10. Antipasto was lovely too Highly recommend

   On our return to the Sorn inn we were late and the staff were very accommodating, moving our table back for us. We ordered the scollops which were perfectly cooked with a nice salsa yet slightly too much chilli for a delicate dish. The sharing steak was delicious and the reason we had returned. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had asked for skin on chips that we had the last time but instead got ordinary chips. A minor disappointment to a great meal.

   Lovely welcoming staff. Absolutely nothing any trouble to them. Great welcome for our dogs too. Great menu and food expertly cooked and well presented.

   Another perfect performance from the Sorn inn team, back and front of house. All the wee extras very much appreciated. Can't wait for the smokehouse to open!

    Service was first class, staff very friendly and helpful. Had venison steak and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. Desert was excellent too. Being gluten free, it was lovely to have a good choice on the menu. I especially appreciated the choice of GF desserts. Would definitely return and recommend to GF diners
