   This was my second visit to Soca Kitchen. I really like the restaurant but wish they had more Spanish wines available (wines by the glass are mainly from Australia or the US). We tried the chef’s tasting menu which consisted of empanadas, tacos, beet salad and a thick slice of bread with cheese and ham. I thought the empanadas were especially good but the tacos were overly sauced. It was good value $28 per person).

   I enjoyed the upscale ambiance and decor and the great location. Go for the patatas bravas, they were delish! I All in all a pleasurable experience though with a friend. Gracias!

   I chose Soca because I wanted to treat a friend who is in a wheelchair for her birthday. The restaurant couldn't have been nicer, or more accommodating. Even though there were 8 of us and we were quite chaotic, they handled it all with grace. The service was prompt and lovely. The cocktails were great and the food was delicious. The only critical thing I would say is that the menu is a bit complicated—it's a mixture of tapas and more substantial things, and it takes a while to figure it all out, and how much to order if you're sharing with a group, in what sequence. Trying to do this on a small screen is difficult. The impulse to get rid of paper is laudable, but navigating a menu on a screen is difficult for many older people and feels like a barrier for them. Overall, though, we had a wonderful evening and a lovely meal. I will definitely go again!

   One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The drinks were very tasty. Menu was unique, very tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu is perfect for people who like to try different things and share with the table. Will definitely be back!

    This was our first time but certainly not the last. The freshness of the food and taste were to die for. I've had a lot of Spanish food in central america and Spain and this place offers better food than some Spanish countries.

    I do love this location and menu is wonderful. Appreciated the 5$ mimosas but food was way too salty (porc arepa) and service was slow. Not enough staff… Tables are super close together and could hear all the other conversations beside me but yet the restaurant was empty. Had a better experience the first time.

    Gustavo and his team always make going to Soca special. They are attentive, generous, and welcoming. the food is the best South American styled you can get in Ottawa.

    Really enjoyed hosting a business lunch at Soca. We were given a choice of tables which is important for private chats. The waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through menu choices. We have ceviche and guacamole starters, the former better than the latter. Mains were delicious fish and beef tacos. I will return.

    This is a nice space and a good neighbourhood spot. The service was extremely good, as were the cocktails. The food was a bit spotty - decent tacos, although I found the beef too stringy and salty and the fish, although nice enough, more deep-fried coating than fish. The patatas bravas were a disappointment—overly salted and dry. The ones I am used to are totally different. Very nice guacamole and the beets were also a hit. As was the coconut dessert: light cake with cool coconut filling and nice crunchy toasted coconut flakes on top. So, a mixed experience. I will return, as it's in my 'hood, but will try other things on the menu. There is a section of the restaurant given over to foodie gifts and take-out. It has some lovely things that would make wonderful hostess gifts or stocking stuffers.

    Very cool Mexican Spanish fusion. The tacos and the mojitos were amazing. Soothing zen quiet atmosphere. Loved it. We’ll be back soon to show our friends our new spot 👍

    I enjoyed the ceviche and while I knew it was not a warm dish, it was served quite cold and would have made a lovely summer patio meal. Perhaps the server could have said "just so you know, the ceviche is served quite cold"...I may have opted for something else, given the season. Also, for the reservation, you ask the occasion, but my having put "birthday" generated no reaction from your server/venue so I am not sure what the purpose is in asking? Otherwise, I will definitely return as it is a lovely dining experience.

    A refreshing dining experience! So enjoyed the variety of fish on offer. The deep fried sea bass was excellent - moist and delicious. The haddock ceviche was marinated perfectly and also delicious. The appetizer of pan tomato & Sorrano on sour dough was a great starter with our wine.
