Unfortunately we did not have a wonderf
the mac n cheese skillet is a must have! wonderful
Reliably good service, great opportunity to sit outdoors, and tasty food. I would love it if the good music that is played indoors could be piped outside. Would add a lot to the ambience, especially since it is on a noisy street corner.
Love that the squid ink tagliatelle is back on the menu and even better than before!
Very good overall, but we waited a long time for the check and credit card to be charged.
Great experience. Server was great EXCELLENT oysters!!!
I was really looking forward to this. It wasn’t overly busy, but service was terrible. I will spend my money elsewhere next time.
Loved the shrimp and grits, sunchokes, and salad. Great service and location.
Great experience for our first night out dining again after the pandemic settled down.
The service was wonderful, the seating was great, social distancing was great, and the food was spectacular!
Highly recommend The Smith!
I’ve eaten here many times. The Restaurant was empty. Food with mediocre at best. Disappointed, will probably not return.
We got a great welcome. Our waitress was great and food was served pretty fast.
Atmosphere was great.
The manager and waiter were extremely nice. I’d recommend you order the burger 🍔
They seemed understaffed. Moderately helpful. Food was good not great.
The squid ink tagliatelle, Brussels sprouts and s’mores dessert are all delicious. Service was wonderful and it has a bustling and warm atmosphere. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.
Overall a good experience. Service was spotty but with restaurants just staffing up again it is sure to improve.
The food was ok, though cold. The muffins were far from perfect
The Smith, DC, has the best oysters in town. And their sticky toffee pudding is to die for.
Love the quinoa and kale salad. It’s my go to.
The host had an attitude and was quite rude. The server was great as was the food.
Not the same as we remembered pre-pandemic. Service was also not so great.
The only funky thing was around 3:00PM candles were passed out and the lights went down. It was rather odd for a mid-brunch experience to set the mood. Definitely not necessary other than that everything was delicious and our server was fantastic.
Waitress was inattentive. Food was bland. Very bad experience and would not recommend. She gave me the bill and forgot to come back for 20 minutes. Just awful.
Loved the Mac & cheese. The bone in rib eye with eggs were also pretty delicious.
Brought my parents in on Memorial Day weekend and it was a perfect pre-museum brunch. It's the perfect place for both DC residents and out-of-towners -- great food at reasonable prices.
Was ok, just nothing special. Better choices in DC
Had a nice outdoor lunch. Because we were outside, the service was a bit spotty.
Amazing food and service. Best calamari and gnocchi. The burger is also fantastic. Large outdoor area has been added. Highly recommend.
Great outdoor seating. Very good salad. A tad pricey but worth it.
Service was a bit slow. Burger was cooked the way I asked.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Chose an outside table because it was a nice evening. I did regret the choice a little due to the road noise and it was a little breezy. I could have asked to move inside but opted not to.
We got the Sunday Red Sauce dinner special for 2. It’s a lot of food. Caesar salad to start, chicken parmesan, rigatoni a la vodka and garlic focaccia. Incredible portions and all really delicious. For dessert an item called rainbow cookies was included. It is more of a cake than a cookie. It was very good as well.
Pre-meal drinks of sangria and Double Trouble were also excellent. Very enjoyable evening.
We had brunch at 10:15 am, not many people in the restaurant yet so we should have had really good service. We didn’t. While others got a complimentary bread basket, we didn’t, coffee cups were obviously in need of a refill, we had to ask though staff walked by our table several times. The Smith Eggs Benedict was ok, have had better, eggs were soft boiled not poached. All in all, an ok experience, but pricey for just an ok experience.
We went to The Smith two times during our weekend in Washington ,Dc because the food and service and location were great and there are not many restaurants like this open in DC. So many are closed. Everywhere we went, places were closed.
I've never had a bad meal at The Smith and the drinks are always great.
The Smith in Penn Quarter has become our family’s favorite place for mid-level dining in NW DC. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere.
Caps Fans: food was great, service was timely and very efficient. I found that it rivals Clydes and maybe a even better!
Perfect for a casual DC meetup. Friendly servers, multiple seating options, relaxed atmosphere, and good food. Nothing fancy, but they nail the basics. I’d have preferred my Chardonnay to be served in a stem glass, but that’s a tiny detail in an otherwise overwhelmingly pleasant experience.
Very good food. Service was fine. A bit noisy, but we did eat outside and road work was being done. Overall, very nice.
This was a great spot for a double date! We sat outside, and even with the cars driving by, it wasn't too loud. Our server was amazing, and every recommendation that he gave was spot on. Definitely would come back!!
The location is perfect after a morning of wandering the National mall! Service and food were excellent as well.
It was awesome for a bridal brunch. Good food and ambiance.
