We love our server. Very attentive!
Our waitress was WONDERFUL! Nice meal in a calm atmosphere. Our teenage daughter loved the s'mores in a jar dessert!
Went for brunch. Not a ton of options, but the shrimp and grits and the French 75 frozen cocktail was really good
We had a lovely brunch outside today. Oysters of the day were fresh and delicious. The frozen French 75 was just what the Dr ordered on a beautiful Sunday afternoon! We enjoyed the burrata, brussel sprouts, shrimp & grits, omelet and pancakes. All delish!
Food was great, and it was nice to receive a “free”
Cocktail with our brunch entrees. However the service at the F Street location was pretty lousy, in comparison to previous experience at the U Street location.
The food was really delicious. We went for brunch and were very pleased to have a brunch cocktail included with our meals. A great value!
Nice ambience, we avoided the brunch crowd by going at 10:30. Food came in a reasonable amount of time. The homefries were stale but the french toast and eggs were good.
Alberto and our server Nigel were absolutely fantastic and welcoming. We did not interact much with our hostess, but she was also wonderful. I hadn't been to the Smith in Penn Quarter in two years, and the bartender remembered my drink that has since been removed from the menu. The chef was accommodating of my friend's dinner choice modifications, and overall we had the best time. This experience was so fantastic that I've decided to take my boyfriend for our 6 year anniversary and celebration of moving in together. I can't wait to be a regular now that I've returned to the area. Thank you for the best night.
Great food, drinks and amazing prices in downtown DC convenient to metro and attractions. What more can you ask for?
The waitress we had was the best service, kindness and fun since 2020. Enjoyed every minute of her presence.
The food not so hot
Salad only tasted like garlic, fries overly salty, and the calamari has no flavor.
We were seated outside as requested; no wait time. The servers were very attentive and gave great food recommendations.
Outstanding experience. We had party of 6, family from out of town. Looking for fresh ingredients, high quality food. All expectations exceeded. Ashanti was our server, outstanding! Manager checked on our experience, outstanding! Food, outstanding! From crabby teens wanting food to crabby grandparents wanting food, all expectations exceeded. I can’t say enough about all around experience, food quality and service- AMAZING! We will definitely return. You can just tell when a company treats their staff right, it shows in what the customer gets. If your looking and uncertain about where to go, GO HERE!
A nice spot for lunch. Diverse menu and convenient location.
Rasheen made sure my husband and I had an amazing experience and the food was perfect! Would recommend for date night or special occasion!
We were first seated at an outdoor table next to a homeless person. We needed to ask to be moved. We were moved to another outdoor table. Another homeless person panhandled down the entire row of tables. The street noise was also very loud with cars. My suggestion is get an indoor table. Food was mediocre at best. They were sold out of the red sauce Sunday special so we ordered off the menu. Man and cheese - fair, chicken Caesar salad- would not get again and the pot of mussels. DC offered better eats. I would go elsewhere.
Food was mediocre, and drinks were overpriced. Ambience was great, and service was pleasant.
The service was kind, we were sitting on the sidewalk with out 2 year old daughter. The kids menu is impressive! Not your regular chicken fingers and fries type thing. They had salmon with veggies on it! My daughter loved it. It also came with fries which she also loved. Their appetizers shishito peppers with sea salt and lightly fried Brussel sprouts were delicious and light. I ordered brick pressed chicken with spinach and smashed garlic potatoes (YUMMY!), very well seasoned and before I knew it, it was gone :) My husband had filet mignon and it was delicious as well. Our daughter got a complimentary scoop of ice cream bc she did so well and she loved this little treat! We were grateful for quick service and attentiveness to our little one. Oh, and bathrooms are clean and hand sanitizers are placed in several locations throughout restaurant. The hand sanitizer smells amazing! So yeah, definitely go! It's quite casual too.
Guest ordered martini on the rocks. Arrived up.
I ordered a Manhattan, was not informed manhattans are “on tap”. Literally worst Manhattan I’ve ever had. Dark brown. Mostly bitters. Undrinkable. Asked for a classic Manhattan, which was fine.
Food was great, as usual. Server was very pleasant. I’d just advise guests that some of the cocktails are premixed.
This is a beautiful restaurant, which also has a very nice patio.
The food is very good and the service quite agreeable.
I will definitely return and recommend it.
We were in Washington with our ten-year-old granddaughter and wanted a casual place for dinner. The Smith’s outside dining was perfect and we all had a great meal.
Unfortunately we did not have a wonderf
the mac n cheese skillet is a must have! wonderful
Reliably good service, great opportunity to sit outdoors, and tasty food. I would love it if the good music that is played indoors could be piped outside. Would add a lot to the ambience, especially since it is on a noisy street corner.
Love that the squid ink tagliatelle is back on the menu and even better than before!
Very good overall, but we waited a long time for the check and credit card to be charged.
Great experience. Server was great EXCELLENT oysters!!!
I was really looking forward to this. It wasn’t overly busy, but service was terrible. I will spend my money elsewhere next time.
Loved the shrimp and grits, sunchokes, and salad. Great service and location.
Great experience for our first night out dining again after the pandemic settled down.
The service was wonderful, the seating was great, social distancing was great, and the food was spectacular!
Highly recommend The Smith!
I’ve eaten here many times. The Restaurant was empty. Food with mediocre at best. Disappointed, will probably not return.
We got a great welcome. Our waitress was great and food was served pretty fast.
Atmosphere was great.
The manager and waiter were extremely nice. I’d recommend you order the burger 🍔
They seemed understaffed. Moderately helpful. Food was good not great.
The squid ink tagliatelle, Brussels sprouts and s’mores dessert are all delicious. Service was wonderful and it has a bustling and warm atmosphere. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.
Overall a good experience. Service was spotty but with restaurants just staffing up again it is sure to improve.
The food was ok, though cold. The muffins were far from perfect
The Smith, DC, has the best oysters in town. And their sticky toffee pudding is to die for.
Love the quinoa and kale salad. It’s my go to.
The host had an attitude and was quite rude. The server was great as was the food.
Not the same as we remembered pre-pandemic. Service was also not so great.
