Handmade baking powder biscuits, old-fashioned mashed potatoes, & chicken gravy have been a CB tradition for both locals & visitors alike. Steak, ribs, & vegetarian options also available. Ian & Ayla Scott have been the owners of The Slogar since 2018. They bring charm, experience, & a whole lotta love to your table. We used to frequent Slogar quite often years ago. Best comfort food in the valley! Whether it's due to cutting corners or just doing things differently, we weren't so impressed with the new recipes and missed the 1st course offerings like the veggie/garnish tray, rather than a very small salad for everyone to share, alongside coleslaw that was mushy. The gravy was so so. My personal favorite- tomato chutney wasn't the same--new recipe was too sweet and ketchup-y rather than tangy. And we always looked forward to ice cream and coffee to finish the meal off. An ice cream sandwich cookie was way too heavy after such a meal! We felt like $39/pp for a chicken meal was a little steep. Especially when the food was not nearly as wonderful.

service was excellent, chicken dinner excellent, potatoes cold....my wife had southern bell which i tasted too and was not good...waitress was excellent!! had to wait outside in the cold until door was opened exactly at 5pm. Dr Robert Berger I have a condo at the mt. i have eaten at Slogars at least 30 times.over the 20 yrs i have been to CB

Food was good , as usual. Our initial “server”, who told a neighboring table she was one of the owners, seemed impaired. She took our drink and food order and was never seen again. Thankfully she didn’t take our menus after taking our order, so after about 20 minutes, another server, noticing our menus still on the table, retook our order after doing the same for another table next to ours. The second server did a great job recovering for her impaired employer. Not a great look at 7:30 on a Tuesday. The Slogar was definitely a go-to when people come to visit me from out of town, but I will now have doubts about returning or recommending it in the future.

We always enjoy our visit to Slogar. Delicious food and plenty of it. Unique ambience in the 2nd oldest house in town. Great vibe of a ski town.

We enjoyed our experience! A friend recommended Slogar, and we were not disappointed. My wife, two kids, and I had the fried chicken, and we all thought it was great. A friend we were with got a ribeye that he let me try - it was really great. As Texans, medium typically means still a little red in the middle - my friend ordered it medium rare and it was more like medium in Texas.

Slogar’s is always our go to place in Crested Butte for the last night of our trip. We love the chicken and the sides. It’s super easy in and not a long wait for the food. It’s a fun place to celebrate our week of skiing.

Delicious food. Felt rushed by the server as if on an assembly line. Still food was excellent especially the salad. They could not accommodate a milk allergy with respect to the potatoes. We will go back to enjoy the food and ambiance.

Our party of seven (3 kids, 4 adults) went to dinner at The SLOGAR and enjoyed every moment of it. The food was spectacular and the family-style service was really fun. The service was excellent and the ice cream sandwiches were the perfect way to finish an amazing and memorable meal.

This restaurant is a must for dinner in Crested Butte. The pre fixe menu allows one to enjoy the main courses without agonizing over choosing sides! The portions were generous and delicious, and we were happy to take home what we couldn’t finish. All the servers were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return for another delicious meal.

Showed up early but had to wait 10 min past reservation for seating time. All the while hearing another group who had some members with guest delays hear they were getting charged regardless. Seems that you shouldn’t charge no-shows especially winter storm related when you can’t even seat your guests on time. After that - everything was great. Good delicious. Portions large. Service excellent. Would go again!

The fried chicken was excellent as usual. The three course menu offers great choices, the ice cream Sammie’s finished the meal off in fine style. We could not take our leftovers home because we were staying at theInn so we donated them to the kitchen staff.

It used to be better. The spiced pears are no more, as are the pickles. The chicken is all good. We were seated in the parlor, because every space was being used. It was super easy to get the reservation though. Just do it fast enough in advance.

Great experience. My husband ordered the chicken which they are known for. He usually orders meat but he raved about their chicken. A little too much food for the two of us. Loved the tomato chutney with the cottage cheese. Biscuits were delicious. I had the stuffed peppers and it was really good. Great service. Loved our server

Food - Fried Chicken and all the sides were terrific. Our 3 year old grandson loved the Biscuits. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, they brought out a dessert of homemade ice cream sandwiches! We will definitely visit several more times in n the future.
