The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood Ratings and Reviews
We did have a wonderful dinner, we received an email stating we were no show which was not correct. We were at the Signature and had a wonderful diner. Kaile was our server. 2/17/18 left at 7:08 pm, guest 3, #60009, total bill $291.87 tipped $60.00.
We will hopefully dine at The Signature again soon.
Dr. David & Mrs. Samsami with son Cyrus.
Service, setting, ambience was in comparable.
The prime aged ribeye was superb
king crabs were deshelled, i’d have preferred it left in the shell.
We really enjoyed the sides; truffle mashed, creamed spinach, sauté mushrooms.
Overall a great place to wine and dine.
Our waiter Gregory was quite a professional.
Always a treat to dine at The Signature after a long day of work. Food is always exquisite and the service is exceptional. Cold draft beer with the spinach strawberry salad is the perfect start. Porterhouse house steak and whole lobster will appease your palate. Top it off with the lilikoi crème brulee for an enjoyable evening.
We had our valentines dinner there and it couldn't have been more perfect. The live piano performance gave the perfect ambiance you want for valentines day. Our server Cheryl was very lovely and she took great care of us. The food is great, the cocktail menu looked interesting (we had wine and beer so no cocktails). I'd recommend this place for a special occasion.
First of all, the service was great! From the time we arrived up until the time we left, the service was top notch.
The appetizer, sides, and dessert were great! The steaks were great quality, but we were a little disappointed with how they were prepared. Unfortunately, my fiancé had to send gets back twice because it wasn't cooked the way she liked it. By the time it came back, it was too well done for her to enjoy it.
The manager was nice enough to take it off the bill, which we were grateful for, but it was a setback that we weren't expecting for a top rated restaurant.
Wonderful Valentines Dinner with Ohana. One couple shared Wagyu Tomahawk Steak. Quite impressive! Miso Butterfish delicious & generous portions as was the Rib eye. I love the truffle mashed potatoes! Couples shared avocado strawberry Salad & Caesar salad. Fun decor and staff was happy to take our Valentines memento pics. Oh I forgot the fabulous city view. One of the reason I reserved here!
The occasion was for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was amazing from start to finish. They were very well organized. We checked in with the hostess and were seated within 5 minutes. There was a line forming behind us. The service was excellent, very well timed considering it was a busy night. Our server was very friendly and did a great job helping us pick a nice Pinot Noir to pair with our meal. We had excellent service throughout the evening.
We decided to try one of the specials of the evening, the Tomahawk 24oz. Steak with Truffle Mashed Potatoes. The fresh baked bread that they served before the meal however was just ok for me. My husband ate a chunk of the bread but I think he was just hungry. I was not too worried though since we ordered crab cakes for our appetizer, the wedge salad and their Lobster Mac and Cheese side dish. I actually chose this restaurant just so I can eat their Lobster Mac and Cheese. We completed our fabulous meal sharing the vanilla gelato to keep things light after such a heavy meal.
The manager visited every table we noticed to check on patrons. It was the perfect night and we are happy that we chose Signature to celebrate the special occasion.
My wife and I wanted to avoid the Valentine's Day crowd which is why we made reservations for the 13th instead of the 14th. The food, service and views were great! It was a little louder than we would've expected for a restaurant like this, but it didn't take away from our experience. Our server, Gregory, was very helpful, very pleasant and very attentive. The food was served in a timely matter and as prepared to our requests. Will definitely be back again!
It was our first time eating at Signature Prime Steak & Seafood. We got seated 10 minutes after our Open Table reservation, which was good. They had a piano player when you entered the restaurant, and we noticed the volume level was quite high. I'm thinking it's because they were trying to talk over the music, We sat next to a table of 4 that we immediately noticed they were obnoxious and loud. The waiter noticed it too, but did nothing about it. All other tables around us were fine, except for that one table. It made it difficult to dine, to eat and hear them, and to talk within our party of 3 was hard because we could hear everything the other table was talking about.
We ordered our appetizer, sides, and steak dinners. About 10 minutes later, the fried calamari came out, and in 5 minutes the rest of our food came out. It was very fast! They are quick there to feed you. They didn't rush us to leave, but there was a lot of food that came out on the table to look at all at once. We did have to flag the waiter 2 times for items we wanted because he never came back to check on our table. We saw that he was busy servicing other tables.
I guess we finally got lucky, and the loud table left 10 minutes into our dinner dining. The next 4 people that took their place wasn't as loud, they were fine. It was such a relief.
The steak was aged, that's what the waiter told us. My husband and I both ordered rib eye med-rare. But mine came out med-well, the sides were lightly pink and inside was a little pinker. I didn't send it back, it wasn't that bad to send it back, so I ate it. But it was seasoned on the saltier side, because I did drink 2 glasses of water while I was there eating 1/2 way through the dinner. The nice thing is that they included an order of mashed potato to go with the dinner. The bread we got, was at room temperature and dry. (I guess I couldn't help but to compare it to the Morton's warm onion topped bread). Unlikely I would return there to dine.
This is a high end eatery. Top quality ingredients. The view is fantastic. Service for us was just OK. Our server had 2 other tables of larger parties and they were getting all most all of her attention. Our glasses were empty for quite some time and we were basically done with the meal before she asked if we wanted another. You will easily drop $200.00 on a meal for 2 but if you can afford it you will not be disappointed. My wife had the New York strip special and she said it was the best steak she has ever had. Light live piano music and cozy ambiance.
I chose Hawaii for my honeymoon and I have made a reservation two weeks before I went on a trip because I saw many articles about the atmosphere here is good. Obviously, I wrote that I'd like to make a reservation by the window. We ignored our writing and assigned it to a different seat. Since then, I felt uncomfortable, and the gentle guy said hello with his hands in his pockets. Maybe he ignored them because they are Korean. Or maybe our age looks young. I was dumbfounded, I felt really bad. Other honeymoon couples were also told not to go. The food tastes really salty. The price was exorbitant for the taste.
Service was not good. We waited to be seated for a reservation, which we were on-time for. Once seated, we were not engaged for a long time. Once waitress arrived she asked us if we wanted water, not asking if we wanted anything to drink from the bar. Water never arrived. I ended up getting a runner to get us some water. When she came back 15 minutes later we ordered, her delivery was awkward and unpleasant. App took awhile to get to our table, and was only warm. Assumed it sat in the window. Steaks and sides we ordered were good. But it took awhile to get them.... Dirty martini is usually good, this one was not.
Other thing, it was our anniversary. I don't typically care, but since I was asked if it was a special occasion and thought it would be mentioned.
I absolutely love the food at signature. Steak is always consistently cooked with great flavor. Side dishes and appetizers are also tasty. My only complaints are that they have the bussing trays in the dining area and that the lighting is too dim for comfort. The loud noise of dishes clanging together really ruined the elegance of the intended experience. Also, I understand dim lighting is meant to set the mood, but it was just SO dim that everyone had to use the flashlights on their phones to read the menu.
We come here for many special occasions, particularly my husband's birthdays. We used to go to Ruth Chris but found Signature Prime has better value. Service was consistent HOWEVER I was HUGELY disappointed on this occasion on TWO COUNTS: 1) My wagyu had to be sent back TWICE, this is a SPECIAL they are promoting! I am a TRUE steak lover, always order Medium Rare. First time it came out almost well done, second time almost tartare/super rare! AND the server Gail automatically charged us 18% gratuity because I had booked a party of 6, technically we were FIVE plus our 3 year old grandson who mostly only ate bread all night! I'd been planning on tipping only 10%. Very upsetting and disappointing, this is a STEAKHOUSE, they know Ribeye but surely need improvement on top shelf WAGYU. My steak should have been LAST on the grill as it was only 10 oz. and thinner than my husband and son in law's boneless ribeyes. I called the next day to complain and all I got was an apology from the office assistant.
'F' for my favortie, Wagyu (though it was very tasty when finally got it right. I was too full by then to eat it all).
Food, ambience, value was amazing. Zero complaints in that area.
The only thing that kept me from rating this 4-5 Stars is because when I made a reservation, they specifically ask if I am celebrating a special occasion? Which I was, my fiancé’s birthday. However, even though they ask this question, there was zero mention of, or an acknowledgement of a “Happy Birthday.” What made it worse is that the table next to us was greeted by the restaurant manager on a happy anniversary, and the table behind me was wished a happy birthday. So as a guest, I felt less valuable and unimportant. Not something I would of expected from a fine establishment.
As a local, I never really heard of this place until I received some gift cards to dine in with--boy has that been a disservice to myself and the other steakhouse-goers I know. After having dined previously at other steakhouses such as Wolfgang's, DK's, and Gordon Ramsay's, The Signature is definitely the steakhouse I'll be coming back to without a want for a special occasion to stop in. My wife and I started with the Ahi Katsu Roll, which was wonderfully seared and crispy on the outside but melt-in-your-mouth sashimi-like on the inside. The rustic mashed potatoes were a great pairing to the signature 24oz. Porterhouse which was seasoned perfectly and cooked with the just right amount of crusting on the outside. To make sharing easier, they offered to cut the porterhouse for us which we obliged to. We finished with the Lilikoi creme brulee which, like everything else, was of a great consistency and flavored just right. Our only regret is that we were not at the restaurant to enjoy the sunset--but we'll make up for that next time!
We ate here last night 1.28.18. Dinner reservations were at 630pm and we were seated immediately upon arrival. It was rather slow, but there were people at the bar area and by the piano player. A few dinner guests were sprinkled throughout. It is a very nice and wide open restaurant... meaning you can't necessarily hear the conversation at the next table and they can't hear yours. Anyhow, dinner consisted of the Filet Mignon for me and rack of Lamb for her. Appetizer was the crab cakes; very tasty. Our sides were grilled asparagus and the lobster mac and cheese. An order of mashed potatoes was included. Everything was wonderful... very tasty and presented well. That being said, it is a bit pricey. I enjoy a really nice steak house and this is right up there with the best of them. The service was very good. Our waitress was pretty much on point; only minor issue was the lamb was served without the mint jelly. Took a few minutes, but it was delivered upon request. Would I go back again? Definitely for special occasions.
Was seated at a noisier table with lots of passing patrons and staff. Felt like I was in the way. Speaker music may have been a bit too loud. The start off bread was tasteless. Butter would have been nicer than the olive oil. Otherwise, my prime rib eye steak was tasty, but could have been pinker. Service was top notch.
Felt rushed. Kids (2 & 1 teen) at the table near us all were playing games on their phones. Very disturbing. We were out for a nice date and we felt rushed & like we were in Chuckie Cheese with all the game flashing screens, noise, & disturbance. Definitely inappropriate for nice dining. Gaming on phones should not be allowed as a matter of restaurant policy. Oh by the way ... Delicious steak! Too bad ambiance was so horrible.
A great place as usual for any occasion. When we have familly or friends visit we make it a point of taking them there for dinner. Wait staff are not only very knowledgeable of all the dishes but are some of the most personable people to be around!!! Will continue to have dinner there for many years to come.
Just a great steakhouse experience in Honolulu. 3 of us arrived at 8PM and were seated immediately at a window table. Great elevated views of the waterfront. The 6oz filets were cooked perfectly, and very good quality cuts. Enjoyed a few of the available sides as well - lobster Mac & cheese, asparagus and mushrooms were all tasty. Waitstaff excellent - not hovering, but timely and always there when we needed something.
The food was absolutely incredible!!! My boyfriend and i shared the fried calamari appetizer and it was so fresh and flavorful! We got filets cooked to perfection and had the lobster Mac and cheese which was to die for!!! Great service and they had a talented pianist playing beautiful music! Worth every penny for the great experience we had!
