We went for our anniversary and it was awesome! We sat inside and all tables were very spread out. It was quiet and beautiful. They greeted us with an anniversary card and a glass of champagne each! We tried everything from appetizers, clam chowder, dinner and dessert. Everything we ate was fantastic! The clam chowder was spectacular!! This was our first time dining there and we will definitely go back! Great place, great food and all the staff was spot on. Thanks for a wonderful evening
Wonderful 3 course prix fixe with a large number of dishes to taste. We had octopus and a tuna tartare. Mains were excellent as well.
We were here for Mother’s Day Brunch. Everyone loved the three-course meal. Portions were generous, presentation was excellent, and service was great.
My son has severe nut allergies and mild allergy to dairy products. The staff walked him though the menu so he was aware of what was safe to eat and what to avoid.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we look forward to our next visit.
We had the tasting menu and felt like a few dishes were either too sour, sweet or salty for my taste. But they always provide 5-star service!
As we are celebrating Mother’s Day dinner which I noted in my reservation, we got a greeting from our wonderful server but when we ordered dessert, they did not write Happy Mother’s Day on the matcha bombe plate which was disappointing.
It was a soulless dining experience to be frank. Nothing ordinary, nothing terrible -- my Miso Cod dish did have quite a bit of lobster shells in it. Just nothing to write home about.
We got really sick after eating there. The lobster was not very flavorful, and I didn’t think the ambiance of food was with the price.
A special place to splurge for a special occasion.
In this case it was my youngest son's impending high school graduation. It is expensive, but the plating, ambiance, quality ingredients and special unexpected touches ( amuse bouche may have been our favorite bite of the meal and no split plate fee, even though each plate requires a complete reworking of accoutrements and sauces and garnishes) . The impeccable service manages to be comfortable rather than fussy, a delicate balance, rarely achieved. This is fine dining that is fun and absolutely delicious. No crazy combinations of ingredients and the freshest highest quality food!
Had along day. Our waiter and staff were so accommodating and patient. Definitely coming back!
Joanna was outstanding, professional and effective
Fabulous meal as always. Paella was a treat as was the Miso cod. The lobster rocks, crab and Hamachi shots are not to be missed and the Chocolate bomb was the highlight of decadence.
Hi there, my overall dining experience was not as I would have hoped. This was my 43 wedding anniversary, I picked this restaurant for the reviews. Which were very high. First the ambiance was so so. For a high class restaurant you should have updated the rattan chairs. Classier tableware. It took awhile for the wait staff to take a drink order. The waiters seemed to mill around with not much to do. The food came at appropriate times. We had oysters and the shooter shots for appetizers. The oysters were small and so-so. Shooters were yummy. My husband had the paella. I'm sorry but that is not a traditional Paella, the shrimp overcooked, artichoke hearts should not have been in it. The rice was overly oily and not much if any sauce. Chorizo is a game changer too. I had the Lobster dish. I will say the lobster was just right, the edamame and mushrooms an okay touch, but spicy red sauce and parsnip sauce as a garnish not a good pick. The dessert bite was nice. Cotton candy what is this a carnival! We didn't have dessert. Loved the homemade crescent rolls and soft fresh butter. Waiters were attentive. Your prices were way too much for the quality of the entrees. We paid $400. For a $200. Meal. I understand that the chef was trying to do fusion with the courses but him/her way off base with the flavors. I am a pretty good cook and I have all my taste buds. I know how to meld flavors together with the food. I was expecting much more. Sorry an overall 3 .
Our favorite restaurant
Everything service wise was immaculate, the food was hit or miss. Lobster rocks phenomenal, paella was pretty good, miso black cod was very sweet(a bit too much like candy), and the popcorn crab was ok as well.
Lots of things came complementary which was nice as well!
Service was impeccable. Food was fantastic
Wow, it was really an amazing meal. There are great options for those who don't love seafood too, which was helpful. Awesome whiskey menu and the service was impeccable.
Amazing food and service
It was one of the best dining experience. Joann our server went above and beyond to make our evening special. The crispy fried salmon skin ( chicharrón) was unexpectedly delicious. My husband was ecstatic with the salmon roe and it’s accoutrements. The Waygo Rib Eye had the perfect amount of marbling. It was buttery delicious. We would fly back here again just to eat here again.the cocktails were well balanced. Not too sweet. Overall a great dinner from start to finish. Even the cotton Candy was delicious.
Our server was phenomenal. Tasting menu had bigger portions than anticipated. Drinks were outstanding. Great special date night spot. Also came for my mother’s birthday. Will come again.
Our server was great and the food was tasty.
Terrific; dined on the patio with an overhead heater - wonderful food and service and plenty of space - will be back
Thank you for having us, a great night out.
I had a great time celebrating my birthday here. Our server was super sweet and kind. Answered all our questions about the food, th wine selection and dessert. The bar manager also took time to talk with my boyfriend about the wines they had in house. Since we were a bit indecisive we ended up get the tasting menu which was perfect, if you like a variation of flavors. In addition we got some oysters and hamachi shots as well as their uni soul dish. Definitely would come back if we’re in the area or celebrating another occasion.
mostly perfect; wine excellent as was service and food but the oysters were marginal; very pricey but unhurried fine dining
This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I am so glad I chose this place to celebrate my friend's birthday. The service and food far superseded my expectations. The ambience was lovely and food and service outstanding. The employee's keen attention to detail sets this place far above many others. The evening was really special and I am extremely grateful.
We have been fortunate to be able to remain customers of The Sea by Alexander's for all of the "Sheltering in Place" timeline, and we will continue to be loyal patrons for as long as there is a The Sea Restaurant. It has been our sanctuary of sanity in a time of madness. We are truly grateful.
Amazing service provided by all the staff, specially Joana and William, they did an outstanding job accommodating any request to make our dinner just "perfect" . They received us with a glass of champagne to celebrate my birthday!
We had hamachi shots and dungeness crab cocktail as appetizers, my favorite was the hamachi shots!
For main, we had miso black cod with half lobster tail (special request) and wagyu ribeye, both of them were delicious.
I requested a french martini cocktail that is not in their menu, the bartender didn't hesitate on doing it for me, and it was very tasty!
They also had a dessert surprise for my birthday and a cotton candy with a berry infusion , the best cotton candy I have ever tried!
Joana recommended her favorite coffee and I was very pleased with honey latte, barista really knows how to make microfoam!
My boyfriend is a coffee lover and was pleasently surprised on the taste and freshness and flavour of their monoco coffee.
Thank you again to the Chef, Manager, and all the staff for making it a great night for my boyfriend and I.
Our waitress Joanna was super sweet, excellent service.. she recommended all of the specials which turned out very delish.
I must say this is by far one of the best fine dining I've had, I chose this place for my husband's birthday and set reservations in advanced. We showed up and had the best service and food was outstanding and the ambiance was beautiful. We will definitely be going back. 5 stars for sure
Love the service! Filet Mignon is my is
Super innovative menu, expertly designed dishes, and super professional staff. An absolute delight of a dining experience.
The Sea by Alexander's is the seafood sister of Alexander's Steakhouse. While they feature seafood, they have nearly as large a selection of steak as they do seafood, which makes it a good place for me, at least. I like seafood, but I prefer clean, simple presentations, rather than more elaborate dishes. It might be a great idea if TSBA had one or two SIMPLE fish dishes.
I had the Cab Prime New York steak which was perfectly done and served with polenta sticks where were nicely done and very tasty. The tomato compote was a bit sharp, but the Cab sauce mitigated that. My companion had the scallops which were excellent.
For dessert, I had the Mandarin Souffle which was flavorless, and complemented by a Creme Anglaise, which was bland. If they are going to make an orange souffle, they should probably use Cointreau or Grand Marnier, and add some to the Creme Anglaise as well. This was not worth $20. My companion's dessert, a raspberry panna cotta, was MUCH better, very tasty and beautiful. Coffee was excellent.
The service at TSBA was outstanding; it always is, and this time was no different.
Great venue and meal for a special night out or celebration.
Awesome in every way. People, service, food, ambiance are all fantastic.
