The Union Bank—affectionately known as "The UB" to locals—is a unique dining destination in the heart of Orange. With its rich heritage charm, it offers a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.

At the Schoolhouse Restaurant, our flagship dining space, we take all bookings. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, our stunning courtyard connects all areas and offers the perfect casual setting. While we don’t take bookings for the courtyard, you’re welcome to request it in your booking notes, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll be happy to seat you outside!

For group dining, The UB offers several private spaces, ideal for gatherings of 8 to 40 people. Whether you're hosting a business meeting or celebrating a special occasion, we have the perfect setting for you.

This is a fantastic restaurant. We took the "Feed Me" menue option, which was sensational. A memoral night. The venue was quiet, the staff were attentive, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was very refined.

Service was excellent. We felt we were valued and wait staff enjoyed what they were doing. Entrees were excellent. We chose the barramundi as a main. While it was very tasty we felt it was way overpriced at $80. Desserts were ordinary and we felt some innovation in this area would be welcome. The noise level this time was acceptable although we have been to the UB on occasions when we couldn't hear each other speak .

Excellent food and wine. The 5.30pm sitting was much busier than we were expecting and so service was slower than we anticipated.

Servings are generous and for sharing - we possibly over ordered but enjoyed being able to try so many different flavour and food combinations. Service was excellent - discreet and not over bearing. Definitely will return.

Union Bank is truly a gem in Orange for those who seek fine dining. The food bursts with flavour and made with high quality ingredients. It was simply so yummy and undoubtedly the highhlight of our dinner. The set 7 course dinner made perfect sense with a great variety of dishes, so that the customer could enjoy the food without struggling what dishes they would try. The cozy ambience and friendly professional services create a welcoming atmosphere that makes us feel so relaxed across the whole dinner.

Service was very cold and pretentious. It was my birthday, it was noted on the booking’s notes and at no point of my dining experience my special occasion was ever acknowledged. I am also pregnant and when I have asked to make a couple of changes to a few dishes to accommodate my dietary, the staff did not accommodate. I clearly specified what I couldn’t have in my condition and asked for a pork chop to be cooked through and the pork was served pink. Moreover, aioli was brought to my table with the croquette and no one cared of pointing out that I couldn’t have aioli due to the presence of raw eggs. The entrees took overall 40 minutes to arrive to the table which made the experience very disappointing and never ending. Food was ok but the service and lack of hospitality totally ruined such an important day for me and I will not be back. Better off going to Hey Rosie and Mr. Lim.

Had a lovely long lunch at the UB yesterday. I recommend a lot of visitors to go.. Wa great food and service. Think Lauren from Canberra served us. She wa very good and freindly

We attended the Chalou v France wine event and had a good time. It was a busy evening and the staff did well to accommodate everyone. When I was booking a table I didn't have an option for just dinner which would've been our preference, but the beef bourgignon served up was tasty and warming, perfect for a winters evening..
