In 1976, the Sand Dollar Blues Bar opened its doors, and almost instantly became one of Las Vegas’ most iconic bars. Some of the greatest blues legends, as well as many other famous musicians graced the stage for over 30 years. People like Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and even Mick Jagger would swing into the Sand Dollar when they were in Vegas.

In 2007, the Sand Dollar closed it’s doors, but the ghosts in the bar would not die. It was resurrected in 2009, the spirit of live music in Las Vegas unwilling to fade away.

Honoring the tradition and history of the iconic Las Vegas venue, it is now The Sand Dollar Lounge.

My boyfriend and I went for Halloween, because they were decorated for the holiday. We’ll definitely be back. A really fun dive, with above average drinks, reasonable prices and really good pizza! Everything looks well-kept and clean. When we got there they let us know up front that they didn’t have a server (she had 3 kids so they sent her home). Ordering at the bar was no problem, and we got drinks fast! They have live music every night at 10 too!

The level of mixology specialized holiday drinks were outrageous. All of them so balanced and flavorful. Cool spot to hang off the strip and enjoy great bartenders and live music.

We went to get some drinks early in the evening. The people were so friendly even the security guard, Dean was pleasant to chat with. Great drinks prepared so beautiful.

I just wished I investigated what time the blues started. I would have made our reservation closer to that time. Amazing pizza.

If you’re into dive bars with an intimate live music setting and love classic rock/blues, this is your place. Recommend reserving a table to sit upfront, small dance floor. The bar has a good range of whiskeys and cocktails to choose from. Has an ATM, convenient for some gambling at the bar. Limited menu - only pizzas but taste good. Very friendly door man and male bartender with long hair/beard were most pleasant of all the staff. I saw the Smokestacks play and they were phenomenal. Great band! Will definitely come here again when visiting Vegas!

This place is like a jewel for Las Vegas I can believe how cool it was in there and the band that they had on Thursday the 4th was awesome they were called doctor rock. This is perfect for nice hangout from now on
