About

This restaurant is permanently closed. The Rover Grill and Sports Bar (Previously Called The Irish Rover) is ‘Cheers’-like family-owned, kids- and family-friendly scratch-kitchen restaurant with full service bar.

The restaurant has big space for large parties – Anniversaries, Memorials, Office get-togethers, birthdays and other family functions including sports watch parties.

We serve scratch food which is consistently rated in low 4s out of 5s. Our overall ratings across all major review sites is 3.6 out of 5. Some of our famous items on the menu include Fish and Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Grilled Salmon, Salisbury Steam, Irish Egg Rolls, Rover Nuts, fresh made-to-order Burgers and Sandwiches.

This is a neighborhood gem...nothing fancy, but the restaurant is well maintained, staff is friendly, and the food was good. We were able to get a table for Easter Brunch. Again, nothing fancy, but good service and the food was good and hot! It was slow for an Easter Sunday Brunch (I guess people don't think of a Grill and Sports Bar to have a Brunch, but they do, and it's worth checking out)!

The service Manager was incredible. Her ability to manage the large, unexpected crowd and maintain a high quality of service deserves recognition.

We went the day before St. Patrick’s Day (Saturday) and this is an Irish/American restaurant and bar. The tv was playing Telemundo. Our waitress took our drink and food order, then came back with our drinks. My husband’s drink had a straw and mine did not. I asked if I could have a straw and the waitress acted like I totally put her out asking for one and she said “can I take these other people’s order first and then get back to you?!” While she rolled her eyes at me. She brought me a straw later and then we didn’t see her again until she brought the check, someone else delivered our food. She didn’t even check back to see how the food was or if we needed anything. My husband ordered buffalo wings but asked them to be mild. He was brought BBQ wings. When we explained that wasn’t what he ordered he was told “well, you wanted something mild and the BBQ was the most mild we had”. Needless to say, this was our first and only visit- we will not be back! Food was not the best and service was terrible.

Thank you for the review! We are sorry that we didnot live up to your expectations. For St. Patricks' day weekend, we hired a lot of temperary staff. Their unprofesional conduct is certainly not approved by the management. We are a restaurant and sports bar that serves Irish Specialities. Many of our customers come to watch Soccer Premier League matches. We allow/switch channels based on their preferences. Our food rating are 4.2 out of 5. Anyways we offer our unconditional apologies.
