Food was fabulous, our table shared a pizza, my entree was the branzino which was cooked to perfection and served with roasted veggies.
A little pricey for everyday dining but so good.
Terrific bartenders. Great food. We will be back!
What a disaster. Came for the BBQ night, other couple both got the Tomahawk rib, as they say "The food was terrible but the portions were small". Hardly any meat and what there was was inedible. Complained and the manager took replacement orders that then took over 30 minutes to arrive! Like they needed to make a bad situation worse? The pork ribs were okay as was the chicken but hey $25 + 20% service for 1/2 BBQ chicken?
Dear Ron, I'm sorry that you were dissatisfied on Monday. Your note about the rib was taken to heart and our chef will be executing a more rigorous quality control on the beef ribs. It was our first time rolling out our new BBQ menu and we apologize that you had to experience our mistakes. We hope you decide to give us another chance or try our menu on another day.
So bummed...we had an amazing dinner on Christmas Eve but our dinner last weekend was horrible. :-(
Great relaxed vibe amazing food - don’t forget the croissant bread pudding dessert
Excellent meal! Great mussels! Pizza! And steak!
Awesome restaurant - great food, great atmosphere.
I wanted to love this place, local spot, beautiful interior, varietal menu. I have never been so disappointed. We walked in with a reso, were sat in a perfect corner table. Waiter brought glasses, no water and because my husband had a drink from the bar, didn't take my order. Came back a few minutes later with water, no wine and asked about specials.
We ordered the truffle corn pizza as an appetizer and we were completely underwhelmed. The food was flavorless and left much to be desired. We ordered the ribeye and bolognese for entrees, again disappointing. The steak was not well seasoned and tasted of char from a dirty grill. The pasta was okay, but nothing special. It's actually sad we were told this was the best dish on the menu.
When we asked for the check, we were confused when the whiskey prices for the same glass were different. The waiter took it to the bartender, printed a MORE EXPENSIVE receipt and came back asking us to pay. When we questioned this he explained they mis-charged us for one of the drinks, and the new price is correct. Are you kidding me? We were frustrated by the fact that us questioning the charges increased our bill, so the server can't back with yet another check. This time he took off the optional service charge. No resolution for their mistake, we mentioned the poor quality of the food, and then were told we can make it known if we didn't like it. At this point I felt like we were being taken advantage of and I was ready to go. $400 later, we walked out with a mediocre meal and a terrible experience. Don't waste your time here, there are so many better restaurants in town. Now I know why I was able to get a V-day reservation 2 days before. Needless to say we will never return.
The Salmon was Delicious. Service was also excellent.
It was ok, but our seating was not the good spot. Very tiny table, right next to the big party, and by the front door. Every time the door opens, we freezed. Because of this, our dishes get cold quickly.
Waiters service was excellent!
Great spot. Waiter couldn’t have been nicer. Meats were incredible.
I love this place. The food is excellent and the service is authentic. Try the calamari appetizer - no deep fried crumble here - just fresh and clean seafood. The Roma tomato spaghetti and meatballs are awesome. But my favorite is the home made apple tart for dessert.... heaven!
Delicious food and great service. Beautiful restaurant
- a must try!
Surprisingly good . Excellent service and great food. Nice layout good for business dinners , dates , or night out .
My First Time Here/There. The atmosphere was outstanding. The service was outstanding . The Food was beyond outstanding. Loved every bite.
The clients love this place. i will keep bringing them there!!
A very quiet Sunday. Strong Italian influence with a great dessert list. A very nice bread basket and excellent Caesar salad. A large bar environment but almost exclusively bottled beer. If you overdo it, the St. John's Hospital is across the street!
Yummy, yummy, yummy. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The bread is a slice of carbohydrate heaven. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation and look forward to my next trip there.
You will dream about the cheddar scrambled eggs with truffles, I promise you.
Have been a few times now and all I have taken really enjoy the Rooster!!
Absolutely wonderful experience! Very eclectic menu but something for everyone. Must have is the Crab Cake app.
Do not miss this new gem in Santa Monica. Great small plates, steak, pizza and on and on. GO!
Delicious food! The grilled Caesar is delicious as are the pastas. But the cocktails are wayyyy overpriced (very standard things like a Negroni is over $15!), as are most food items overpriced. A $35 chicken breast?!
But the service was great. Very attentive and kind.
Recommended for great ambience, service and food. Not for value.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Rooster on Christmas Eve. Lovely food and great service, on a night that's typically not the best for dining out. And, as a bonus, they had a terrific vegan soup that made my meal.
Christmas Eve dinner
I really enjoyed the Rooster. More important my Client had a fabulous time and raved about the Rooster.
Excellent fresh tasting food with a wide variety, TVs at the bar to watch the game.
Food is a 10.service is a excellent. Food is as good if not better than Capo
Love this place, the food is fantastic. I introduced my friends to this place and they loved it. The only thing we would like is reasonably price wines by the glass.
Very pricey but we loved the food! absolutely delicious!
Food was super expensive and not outstanding at all. The pizza was delicious but the steak, ribs and veal chop were all flavorless and overcooked though we ordered medium rare. Was very disappointed. The restaurant is very attractive and nice, bread was excellent but the food just wasn't good overall. All of the food was extremely overpriced - $19 for pumpkin soup??? Love their other restaurants but this one was not up to par.
Came here for my birthday celebration and was not disappointed! The food was very fresh, the service was perfect and I loved the industrial and open kitchen vibe. The chocolate volcano cake was the best I've ever had. I will definitely come again!
Very good!! But overpriced and non valet parking sucks.
The meat they served was inedible and priced at $60! The wait staff was nice but definitely seemed to care more about selling then actually servicing. Their prices are usually high for what you get. Automatic service included for a party of two is not classy. Very disappointed and I’ve been here before and had an exception experience. Thumbs down!
This is a new, under the radar great dining establishment. The food is *** on a world scale. If you miss The Rooster, you have missed one of the best places to dine and drink in Los Angeles.
Extremely overpriced. $250 for a couple pizzas, a burger, chicken breast and one small appetizer. 20% automatic service charge applied after tax $10 valet parking. Not worth it, even if someone else is paying
This is our favorite restaurant. The food is unbelievably delicious. Excellent service. And the desserts are all homemade and absolutely fantastic too. The room itself is also stylish and tasteful. Highly recommend!!’
Delicious food, great wine list, really good cocktails, outstanding negroni and good service. I will go back!
Love the atmosphere, the food, the breads, the warm and welcoming help staff. Love the salmon steak and grilled vegetables. Love that I can walk there from doctor appointments at all the nearby medical centers. Go.
Great food, great staff
