My husband and my experiences were awesome!! There was a wedding taking place but it was still so fun to watch everything going on. The server had also called in sick and the bartender did a lovely job of taking care of us. Would most definitely return.
Food came out cold unfortunately and the server checked back too late to have it fixed. Need more umbrella shade for the roof if to eat in non sweaty comfort. And when time to go and pay took a long time for server to come our payment to pay. So overall food could be better hot. And check backs right after food delivered is important and when guest is done ....we're usually ready to go pretty quick, especially in the hot non shade of umbrellas afternoon. Thank you
Service was slow. No point in making reservation because no one tends to guests. Prices were ridiculous. $6 for a cup of brewed coffee. This is not at all connected to STK, they just license the name. Basic patio seating with a great view but you could also just get some reasonably (comparatively) priced to go coffee and lounge on the deck and have a similar experience.
Just very loud and not romantic like the pictures show
Our service was the best and the food our server recommended was great. I definitely recommend dining here and will return if I’m ever in the area again.
Was there for lunch (originally brunch but we found out that brunch stops at 12:00pm) during comic con weekend. They had an event there but the music in the dining area was SOOO loud that it was very difficult for our party to have good conversation. We did ask the waitress to lower the volume but it didn’t change or was so slight it was unnoticeable.
I went on vacation in San Diego California booked this place 2 months in advance got my email confirmation and everything a few days before and the day of my friends and iwweee embarrassed when we went up there there was a private party of rich looking people and they told my friends and I we needed to leave this was a private party. I waited 2 months for this and was disappointed because someone rich said they wanted a party there
Most amazing night. Thank you to the kind service and the delicious food
Best way to spend a big birthday dinner thank you stk
We went to The Rooftop by STK for my friends bachelorette breakfast and because I love rooftop bars. This place also happened to be the same bar where we went for my bachelorette from a year ago. It looks different during the day. It was very relaxing, calm and quiet (we needed it after a night of partying from the previous night). Our server was nice & really funny, I just forgot his name (sad face) The food was great! I’m definitely coming back here with my husband!
Great service the bartender was nice! Good drinks!
The atmosphere was lovely and it was well kept but the food was mediocre for the price. Not really good at all. The drinks were really good though
Everything was perfect.
Beautiful place for breakfast on a sunny day. Plenty of seating for a meal. Comfortable seating for conversation and drinks. Great view of San Diego. They seemed short staffed on a Thursday morning for breakfast. No one but the pool person around the corner to acknowledge my presence. I helped myself to a menu and sat as I watched other guest came expecting to be seated for breakfast
With a name like Rooftop by STK I expected more than mediocre pool food. It was nice to sit outside and the service was decent, but the food was lackluster and the prices way too high for what it was.
I’d skip this place...
My review might be a little biased since we went on a rainy day, but i was a bit underwhelmed. My goal was a nice rooftop breakfast for my fiance on his birthday, and this place seemed to have great reviews. When we got up there it just seemed like that place that people staying at the hotel went for breakfast, so it didn't feel like anything special. I made the note that it was my fiances bday with the reservation, but nothing special stemmed from that. The food for the price wasn't exceptional. Basic Benedict, small breakfast burrito and 2 coffees for $50. I would have much rather spent that money somewhere else. I get that it was a gloomy day, but i hoped that we'd still get a nice vibe from the rooftop.
I would recommend it, but maybe on a sunnier day.
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! Had. the best time celebrating my belated birthday brunch here with my closest friends. Excellent service, amazing views and ambiance :)))
Thank you so much for choosing the Rooftop by STK !!!!! We hope to see you again soon. Bola
Food was very good and service was good. Drinks were incredibly overpriced.
Limited views from being a rooftop place. Construction ongoing during our visit so not ideal for a visit. If you stay at hotel good for a drink or quick bite but not a destination to go to
I was really disappointed with the quality of the food.
Most was good. Coffee was terrible. Portion sizes were fairly small and they charged a fee for reservations.
I planned this reservation to celebrate my daughter’s friend’s 21st birthday, but the day of the reservation, they canceled it. They allowed us to reschedule for the next day but the birthday boy would not be in town and so our celebration was ruined. We did dine there the next day. The appetizers were delicious- fried cauliflower and buffalo wings. The main dish— steak and chicken— were both terrible. Overcooked. Dry! Flavorless! The rice that came with the chicken tasted as if it were placed in the microwave. The potatoes for the steak were awful. The service was the only thing that saved this place.
When we made this reservation we were expecting more elegant rooftop dining. The venue was much louder, more casual, and the target patrons were considerably younger than us. We contemplated cancelling our reservation after we arrived but decided to stay...mainly because it was our last night of a 12-day trip and we didn't have the energy to find an alternative restaurant. That said, we enjoyed our meal however, probably wouldn't choose to return.
Great views and good food.
Salmon and Steak over-cooked and dry. One waitress served the entire rooftop. I spoke to the GM for the real STK downstairs and understand that the hotel licensed the STK name for the rooftop, but even for a knock-off STK the food and service was terrible. Let the restaurant do what they do best and take over the rooftop, because Andaz has no clue what they’re doing.
The views of Downtown San Diego from the STK Rooftop were awesome. In addition the lighter bar style STK menu was perfect for this spot. Definitely a great place to have drinks and relax while downtown.
Great view. Came for happy hour. Good prices. Yaas.
Great atmosphere and views! Perfect spot to enjoy any nice day
Breakfast options are great. So much variety on the menu. We were happy!
When we arrived for our reservation, there was no table ready and we ended up having to wait 30-45 minutes for them to set up a space for us. Once we were seated the service was very slow and we had made our reservation for brunch, but since our table was late getting set up they had finished brunch and moved the menu to their lunch menu by the time we were seated. It took a very long time to initial get drinks ordered and throughout the meal we had to keep asking for them to refill our waters. All in all, I would not recommend or come back to this location for dining. The view and lounge area was nice so it would be a cool place for casual drinks, but not if you're looking for quality service for a nice dining experience.
Service was fast, and food was delicious.
Absolutely fabulous view of the City. We had an awesome cabana by the pool for a girl's night happy hour.
Sad to say the food and service were remarkably terrible. 8 people and no entrees were enjoyed. The server was very young (which is great) but clearly not trained. As nice and understanding as we were, it was painful to experience the delays and mistakes she and the team were making. 15 minutes to take drink orders, then forgetting glasses, then refilling dirty glasses, then pouring champagne to the very tip top of the glasses, then empty glasses and water glasses for 15 minutes while she's nowhere to be found. All that could be forgiven with delicious food - but everything was pretty bad, and simply not well prepared.
Birthday brunch with friends.
Beautiful view. Food is decently priced but the mixed drinks are very expensive. $14 for a mojito during the day. There's a 3% service charge added to the bill that you also get taxed on.
