The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Belmar
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.
Garlic Mozz Bread
Pizza dough brushed with housemade garlic butter, Romano cheese, Mozzarella cheese
Flame broiled beef patty, bacon, chipotle seasoning, Jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, fried onions, chipotle mayo
Half rack of ribs, BBQ sauce, coleslaw, beer battered fries
Nothing to write home about. Everything was fine. What you would expect. Not fancy not trashy. Pizza is pretty good. My Stella tasted like an old Miller Lite or something. Hadn’t had that experience before. But we go here often.
We love going here at least a couple times a month even though it's on the opposite side of town. Pizza is great and plenty of choices.
Good value, friendly service. Have been here a few times and it has been a consistently good experience. Casual place to bring family and friends for reliable food and prompt and courteous service.
Really good experience. Food was tasty, fresh and hot, came out really really fast. Out waitress was very nice.
Food was horrible n not fan of burnt flatbread pizza. The cajun burger was ok but had no sauce. The beer battered fries were yummy. There were two bees that flew by us so were switched tanks on our own. Only one waiter during lunch and she was also bar tender. I can blame all the horrible seevice on her attitude n fatigue but I get it... could hv used a smile to help ger through the chaos
As soon as we walked in we got seated by Emily who also became our waitress. As soon as we sat down she asked if we are ready to order, LOL. We told her that we needed a minute to look over the menu so we can make a decision. It did take her a while to get back.
But I was very impressed that there was four of us and we all ordered lunch, everybody had different pizzas, different salads, different drinks and she wrote down nothing.
The only thing that she forgot to bring back and it took her a while was the sweetener for the ice tea.
That is something minor, as the overall experience, I have to look at service, food, ambience.
I WOULD recommend going there. I love the ambience, the lunch special was great as well.
It’s was very average to unwhelming.
This was my first time here and our waitress rocked. She was patient and was more then happy to keep coming back while we decided. Our pizza was hot and fresh.
The food was really bad. My son's pizza was really charred on the bottom. They do not list all the ingredients used on their menu. If you have allergies to anything you should make that very clear before you order. The server was very kind but it was also very obvious he was high.
Enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The kids loved watching the guy throwing the pizza dough.
I love this resturant! They have such a friendly staff and amazing drinks! The food is soo yummy as well!
Last time we go there!
Food was good. Service was good, waiter was sweating a lot and it kinda grossed me out but all in all, it was a great place and I would go back again.
Two stars because ambiance & service (Audra) was great...but that was all! Beer was barely cold & that's the temp it's set at we were told so it wasn't a fluke but you absolutely must have COLD beer from a tap, especially on a 90 degree day right ?!?! Then there was the pizza...omg it was really bad if you've had good pizza to compare. It was way too doughy & the dough wasn't crispy at all, just a LOT of floppy dough w barely any sauce... DRY, BLAND, BORING!! Took a few bites to get the meat from the pizza cause I was starving but honestly this pizza was terrible.
If you're craving cold beer & good pizza, (only one of the best pairings in the history of man & food!) then go somewhere else, seriously!
Nice, good food. Excellent service
It was ok they got the pizza wrong but
Made up for it
Horrible pizza...never wrote a review but had to since it was so bad
Great service, food, and ambience!
Our first time here to this restaurant...the server we had was great and gave us several suggestions...we tried the Cajun blue cheese bacon burger, the ribs, and a large pizza which we were able to do half of one kind and half another...if i was staying here in the area we would definitely make this a go to place at least once a week
Got seated right away but was waiting for one more person in our group. Waitress came and got us water right away. We browsed the menu and chatted. Our third person came and sat down with us around 5:10 pm. We sat and sat for a long while, no sign of our waitress. Our reservation was at 5:00 pm and it was now 5:43 pm and we still had not put our order in. I finally was able to get the attention of another waitress and asked her if she knew where our waitress was because we had a show to see after dinner and we still had not ordered. She was apologetic and went to go find the other waitress. A few minutes later she returned and said she didn't know where the other waitress was but she was going to take our order. This waitress (Jessica) was very nice but no one gave us any explanation as to why we were waiting for over 40 minutes without being helped, and it was only because I spoke up that Jessica came and took our order.
The restaurant was too loud for normal volume conversation and the food was so so. I ordered a personal pizza which was a ok sized, but was rather bland.
I will not be returning to this restaurant. Bad service, mediocre food and no one like a manager ever came to apologize for our long wait. Didn't expect anything free but it would have been nice to get at least an apology for finally eating over an hour after being seated.
Food was aweful but the service was fantastic!! Everyone was really nice especially our waiter.
Service was friendly and good. Good was good as well.
Caesar salad and a pizza. Both were great. Very good food in a fun atmosphere.
Food was really good and the service was fantastic. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful as we had never been here before. Would definitely stop in again if I'm in the area.
The Cesar salad is my favorite, and the garlic mozz bread!!! Ronnie was our awesome server and did amazing!!
It was our first visit. I was with my husband and toddler. ALL of the servers who walked by, stopped to entertain my daughter. Just those few seconds each time of not struggling to keep her in one spot or from eating a crayon really help our sanity. So, thank you.
Burger and pizza were both great!
Great pizza and service!
When did loud music and dining = fun? It was a very hot day and I was looking forward to eating inside but, my gosh, the noise. We wound up sitting outside just for a little quiet. Why would a waiter talk to four adults, three times his age, like we were his best buddies? The waiter just came off as being really creepy. All in all my experience was awful. Overpriced, too noisy, strange staff... I'll never set foot in this establishment again.
To busy, took to long to get waited on once seated
We had horrible service. The server didn't seem to care about anything, let alone his job.
It was very good a little warm inside. Just two of us, would be a little costly for five.
Bar forgot my drink, waitress forgot my drink, when it came it was wrong. Food was really good
Had the New Belgium Citradelic beer with the Man Burger. Perfect! Wife loved the fish and chips. Service was excellent.
three of us met for dinner made reservations. Two ordered personal pan pizzas. I ordered a huge bang a gong pizza. and asked please no cilantro. I was planning to take some home to others who couldn't come. The pizza came and three personal pan pizzas came and mine was a bang a gong with ciliantro. I said this is suppose to be the huge pizza!? and no ciliantro. The delievery girl was not our waitress and said why don't you just start with this and I will let your waitress know. I asked to just get a pizza to equal the large one, I would go ahead and eat this one. she said we will just comp your drinks. LoL. I just paid for my mother and I and the bill was almost 43$. Think I paid for my bill and others LOL. was not worth the argument. I love this place was even given a gift card for my birthday because people know how much I love going there. Was a huge disappointment.
Best place i been to in a long time definitely will go back
Great place for kids. They give them this great, safe, edible dough to play with as well as being a bit noisy in there if they should squeal.
It is annoying, especially when you take the time to make a reservation, when a restaurant puts 6 people at a table most comfortable for 4- because you have kids. The server not only took a lot of time to greet us, but the drinks took forever and my ice almost melted before he returned to take our order. Needless to say, the food took a long time. But it all tasted good! This was not my first time at this place so I will be back. No previous service issues. The food is decent and the menu is varied. Very kid friendly.
The pizza was good for a chain place - a little bit overboard on the arugula on my pizza, but tasty. However the Caesar salad was old and covered up by dressing. I give this place high marks because our server was fantastic! Always with a smile and happy to help.
This place has good pizza but it stops there. I had the fish n chips and they where soggy and greasy. My boyfriend had the ribs and they were chewy and lacked flavor. Stick to the pizza and go watch some sport as they have a ton of tv's.
