The Ridge Bar & Grill
Server takes your order and never comes back to fill water or if anytime is needed. Have been twice and same thing
What a pleasant surprise...beautiful patio setting overlooking golf course. Mango habanero wings were best ever, and entree’s were similarly tasty. I hesitated writing this review to keep this place a well kept secret, but honestly they deserve your business!
Great food. Service was good, just had to get up to get some items, because we were the only people eating. All it takes is the waitress or waiter once the food is served to ask if anything is needed.
Lovely location for outdoor dining on the deck overlooking the golf course. Casual dining, friendly and accommodating service. The Salmon entree was well prepared, accompaniment of potatoes and asparagus was delicious.
Would definitely recommend.
We're glad The Ridge is open for dinner again! The menu is the same as for lunch with additional seasonal selections. We all ordered from the main menu so I cannot comment on the specials menu. The Ridge salad is always delicious! One had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich and liked it very much. I've had it for lunch and agree. The other four enjoyed their meals as well.
A great local gem. This has become a regular for our weekly date night.
We went for a quick bite and sat in the bar area. Chicken tenders and cheese curds were really good; especially the curds! Service was great as well. Highly recommended!
There were four of us for Mother's Day Brunch, ages 13 to 71, and everyone was blown away by the quality of the food. It was all-you-can-eat buffet style and everything was really outstanding. It was disappointing that the patio was not open for seating, but we had an "okay" table, and had a really nice time. It was packed for Mother's Day, expectantly so, and I look forward to going back on a "regular" day, for a calmer experience. We took a walk around the grounds after brunch, which were so beautiful and relaxing.
Thank you so much for your feedback! We apologize for the lack of patio seating, but in past years we always have an issue with the weather being "too hot" or "too cold" for our guests. I hope you understand and we look forward to seeing you in the near future! And by the way we have dinner and music on the patio this summer coming up! It will be the last Friday of the months of June, July, and August. Hope to see you soon!
Mother's Day brunch buffet was disappointing. The kitchen just could not keep up with the buffet line. They only had one buffet set up and they had booked the entire place full of reservations. We arrived for our 12:30 reservation and the place looked like the locusts had come through. Chafing dishes sat empty for a long time. When a new tray came out it was emptied in minutes. Even the chefs at the carving station were frustrated, muttering "where are my poached eggs?" as they struggled to serve composed carnitas eggs benedict, carved ham and stringy prime rib. How hard is it to have another dish of sour cream horseradish ready to go when the last one is empty? Yet, customers were reduced to scraping the bottom of the dish like the bottom of your mayo jar at home. The food & menu showed little imagine or care. Trays of plain scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and frozen sausage links no better than iHOP. The aforementioned carnitas benedict was bland, the shrimp cocktail seemed off. I must say the salmon dish was very good as was the beef lasagna. The dessert buffet was definitely picked over and sad looking when we got there. Mom got one mimosa and the rest of the party had to pay extra. Our server did the best she could but I think they were spread very thin. She did look for it but apparently there was no "Sweet and Low" for the iced tea. I know the Ridge does many weddings and events so I was surprised they didn't seem to have their act together. Perhaps it was a one time miscalculation but I don't think we will be back.
We normally rave about the food, service, and ambiance at The Ridge, so we are big fans and will continue to go there regularly. For this special Mother's Day brunch visit, it was below expectations. We made reservations for 5 a few weeks in advance and we were seated promptly on arrival. The facilities were very crowded and the buffet offerings were mediocre. Mimosa's were included for Mothers only, and limited to one serving. My wife said she could barely detect a hint of champagne in her one and only Mimosa. We asked to buy a bottle of champagne for the table, but were told it was unavailable. Servers seemed overwhelmed by the volume of people and were less attentive than normal at clearing plates. Lots of staff rushing around, a large tub of lasagna got dropped on the floor, and just a feeling of mild chaos. We love the regular dinner service and offerings at The Ridge, but we will skip Mother's Day next year. Just too many people for our liking, and we expected more for $35 per person.
Great food and drinks
Thanks for the stars DanG! Hope to see you soon!
Went for Mother’s Day Brunch and the food was terrible. Nobody in our large party liked the food. French toast and pancakes were not edible. Omelet bar wasn’t very good. Shrimp did not look fresh and had a different texture to it. Extremely disappointed.
Gr7 food and service. Need I say more?
We went the day after Valentines so it wouldn't be too crowed and there were only 3 other tables full. However they lost one of our entrees so my wife had to eat hers by herself before mine came out. It would have been better if they offered to replace hers and bring it back out when my prime rib was ready so that we could have enjoyed our dinners together. Also the menu offered prime rib but it was a rib steak instead. It was a good substitute, but not prime rib. The bar was very noisy with one of the employees and a patron flirting,
Chef Taylor had a very nice menu for Valentine's Day--we enjoyed the different flavors of each course! Excellent appetizers. Special occasions are tricky to pull off and The Ridge staff did a fine job. By some miracle, we were seated right in front of the fire place on this very chilly night--we felt very special. We will be back, thank you.
Thank you for your review! If you have some time, I'd love to know how we can earn that 5th star! We are new on the dinner scene, any feedback is welcome and appreciated! Thanks! Teena Havrilla Restaurant Manager The Ridge Bar & Grill
Our Valentine evening was lackluster, at least as far as The Ridge was involved.
We arrived a few minutes early and were asked to spend some time at the bar until we were notified of our table. It was 5:10 PM and only 4 of the 20 or so tables were in use. There were no chairs at the bar. The bartender was great.
We were seated in the least desirable table in the house. The ambience was nice but we had to ask for the blinds to be opened to get the golf course view.
Our waitress was fun, professional and helpful. The soup was very bland and the pears tasted like raw potatoes. The scallops were excellent and the pork belly crustini was fair. The featured cabernet was quite weak on flavor, especially being paired with filet mignon.
Speaking of the filet mignon... Upon slicing off the first few bites, it was tender, but visibly overcooked. The first bite was cool upon eating. So was the second. I notified the waitress and she removed the plate. I tried my wife's trout and found it perfect temperature and very tasty. When I was served another filet, I wasn't given another steak knife. I asked for one and never received it. This filet was proper temperature and cooked to medium rare as ordered. The filet was tough to cut with a table knife. The fingerling potatoes and chard were very nice.
The manager stopped by to ask what had happened. He is a literal joke. He was dressed like Vincent LaGuardia Gambini in a maroon, corduroy suit from a second hand store in 1982. After I told him the story about what happened, he said he would speak to the chef to find out what went wrong. The manager never spoke to us again, and he avoided all eye contact with us that evening as he twittered about the restaurant.
The mousse was excellent and were able to engage in nice and easy conversation at our table.
Honestly, our evening was ok, but not even near as expected for being sold a purported "fine dining" experience. We enjoy fine dining. In-n-Out would've been better.
Really surprisingly good! Will go back again.
Glad you enjoyed your evening! Thanks for coming, hope to see you soon! Teena Havrilla The Ridge Bar & Grill
What a great place to have a quick bite, meet friends for happy hour or a nice dinner. My Bookclub has been meeting there each month during Happy Hour which is from 4p-7p everyday. They have a great Happy Hour menu—the steak tacos & slider are delicious & their drinks are a generous pour. Last night I had the roasted beet salad & my Mom had the grilled pork chop with mashed potatoes & asparagus-both our dinners were excellent. They take reservations which Is a big deal to me. It is a quiet atmosphere so you can visit & the wait staff is very attentive & friendly.
Thank you so much for your awesome feedback!! Hope to see you soon... Teena Havrilla The Ridge Bar & Grill
Good servers even though they were short handed.. Wished there was more than one dessert choice.
The food was cooked to perfection and the service was fantastic. I picked the Ridge because I did not want to go to a noisy restaurant, I was not disappointed.
Thanksgiving dinner at The Ridge was great all around!
Thank you for your kind review! Happy Holidays!!

The Ridge Bar & Grill leaves a lot to be desired. I have been for lunch four months ago and dinner tonight. For lunch, service was incredibly slow even though only 25% of the restaurant was full and the restaurant is not large by any means. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and it was bland and mostly romaine lettuce. My friend ordered the Southwest chicken salad and had a similar experience. We were checked on once within 3 minutes of getting our food, then never again except for the check. Our glasses sat emptied after the first 20 minutes. Our entire dining experience was 1 1/2 hours. I couldn't even get any wait staff's attention, they were nowhere to be found. I KID YOU NOT!!!
We decided to give it one more chance with dinner tonight. It was a celebratory dinner too, so we hoped for a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Three of us ordered the Jax burger, 2 with no buns, 2 medium, 1 medium rare, no onions on one of them and 2 with no croutons. We have Celiac diseases and on keto. Not any part of those requests were met, not 1!!! In addition, my daughter ordered a chicken Caesar salad and she couldn't eat it cause the chicken was caked in black pepper. Our waitress appeared to be stoned or on something because she was very vacant and didn't listen to a thing we said. The only thing she got right was our drink order. There was only 1 other table being served and our order took over 30 minutes after waiting 20 minutes to have our order taken. It could be because she was too busy flirting with the bar patrons. I can assure you that you will have a better experience and evening somewhere else in Auburn. This was not worth it by any means!!!
Thank you for your input on your dining experience! We strive to give excellent service at all times, and realize our fault in this matter. We have addressed the staffing issue, and have begun an extensive training program both in the front of the house and the back of the house. I would like to personally apologize for the lack of attention you were given last Monday. I would love the opportunity to make this right, please call me directly at 530-888-7888 x619. Thank you, Teena Havrilla
I made a reservation on Open Table. I also called the restaurant directly on the day of the reservation to confirm and request a table on the outside patio. I talked to two people, and was told "no problem" . When we arrived the patio was full and we were told that they do not honor reservations on nights when they have live music! The hostess proceeded to show me this in print on a flyer they have there and of course I had not seen! So why did they accept an Open Table Reservation which I booked through The Ridge website, and why was I told "no problem" when I called?!!! After some time they pulled a table from the dining room outside and accommodated us on the patio. The food was adequate - my friend and I ordered the exact same salad so why did hers have avocado slices on the top, and mine did not?
