Two of our steaks were charbroiled to death, had to scrape off the blackened bits. Maybe clean your grill before grilling next time? The ambiance and the service were excellent. Didn’t complain to the staff about the food because our other 2 guests had their food and didn’t want to wait for ours to be redone. Asked for medium plus and got well done. Beautiful place but lack luster food.
Had an amazing meal and delicious drinks! A nice addition to the Southbay. All of our food was very good, i had the john dory which was cooked perfectly! The cocktails had a great ratios and not too sweet. Will definitely be back!

I had a great time with friends and dinner . My only complaint was the tomahawk steak . It’s $160 and we were sharing it . Ordered it “medium”. It came way too rare and I couldn’t really eat it. Since we were sharing I didn’t want to send it back just for me. Others just dealt with it but nobody said it was great . It also had a LOT of fat on it . So for so much money there was very little edible meat on it . It was a waste of money in my opinion . I’ll go back but I’ll get something else for sure. That was a bit disappointing.
It was awesome. The ribeye steak was perfection. I asked for it charred medium rare and it was actually charred perfect.
This place was simply amazing. Not only was the food and service outstanding but it was our friends birthday and they made our whole party feel so special. Would 100% recommend for any occasion.
One of the best meals I’ve had. Service was amazing. I indicated it was my husbands birthday and they greeted him with happy birthday as we walked in and provided him with a personalized happy birthday card on the table signed by all staff. Waiter took the time to explain details of all of menu items. He was patient and not annoyed that my 13 year old daughter wanted her pasta without the octopus 🤷🏼♀️ Fried onions are a must, the best wedge salad my husband and I have ever had, filets were done perfectly, bernaise was perfect, roasted potatoes, Mac and cheese and asparagus phenomenal. So glad this restaurant is so close to home. Ans yes, we had leftovers. :)
We had a great booth and fantastic service. Everyone was very friendly. The food was of course fantastic, and we never felt rushed while we enjoyed our 2.5 hour dinner
The restaurant is gorgeous!! We had reservations but had to wait 20 minutes because folks were still at their table 3 hours later. The hostess suggested to wait at the bar but the bar was full (only 4 seats) and no room to stand. Then I asked the hostess if she could get us a glass of wine while we wait. The manager brought the wine to us along with the bill. Wow, they could not comp us 2 glasses of wine for the inconvenience of waiting for our table.
Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and professional.
The appetizers were delicious. The main course was disappointing. The fish had bones and the steak was dry.
I hope it was a one time instance. I really liked the restaurant and want to return. Let's see.
So disappointing. The food was flavorless, the portions were small, the steak was undercooked. They charge $5 for garlic butter. Took forever to even get a drink. Smelled like exhaust fumes from the street. Terrible.
Underwhelming, We've been to a lot of high end steakhouses and if the potatoes and german chocolate cake are the major highlights in a steakhouse, what's left to say. For the price the filet was more like a top sirloin, end cut tough and chewy. Menu does not state all filets are end cuts (per the waiter) and it should have. Ambiance was good, decor, lighting and service as well. $30.00 corkage fee is higher than most. Definitely not what you want from a $225.00 dinner for two evening out. Unfortunate, as we have been anticipating this visit for some time and most likely will not be returning in the future. Bottom line value to dollar for the quality of food served is best spent elsewhere.
Excellent filet. Wedge salad was amazing. Bread was delicious. Side of pototes were excellent. Asparagus--yum! Food was great, overall. $$$$, but good was extraordinary. Seating felt a little cramped, but comfortable. I'd go again on a special occasion.
We came here two nights earlier to celebrate a birthday. But we just had to come back to try some other things we saw on the menu. It was just as great, no disappointment whatsoever. This is a great steakhouse amongst other fabulous little fines on the menu. Must try!

Excellent 1st experience...and it most certainly won't be the last time we dine at Rex's. Food, service, environment and vibe checked all the boxes. A true South Bay comp to Arthur J, if not better. Bravo!!
The service was great. I had read reviews that the service was not good, but we felt the hostess, server and manager check-in were great. My problem was with the food. We ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, the 40oz tomahawk. We asked the server for steak recommendations because we wanted it to be marbled and flavorful. What came was a steak that was 50% solid fat (see pics). Half of the steak was inedible, just all fat. It was cooked on a wood fire and I felt it tasted burnt. Some people may like that charred flavor? Extremely disappointing steak for $170 (we added on garlic butter and thought it would be cooked in the butter but it came on the side? Weird imo). The wedge salad was delicious, the Mac and cheese was not great (wouldn't order again), and the baby potatoes were cooked perfectly. Overall I wouldn't eat here again given I don't feel the food quality warrants the price tag.
The ambiance and service was excellent! The food was way too salty!!! It was so salty we could hardly eat it! We will not be going back anytime soon!
Best restaurant in the southbay. Great food and even better service. Our evening was AMAZING.
Birthday for friends
Seated quickly although asked to be relocated since we were directly in path of all servers snd bus employees. There we sat. They must be understaffed as 7 or 8 minutes our server said she would be with us shortly. 7-8 more minutes she came back. Very nice, but overwhelmed. Ordered drinks and appetizers…appetizers came out before drinks. So we waited. Again. Eventually ordered the steak sampler to share. Potatoes purée and apparently the thickest, tree trunk asparagus they could find.
Steak sampler so disappointing. Precut and our medium rare became medium while it rested in the kitchen. Very small serving so finished in 5 or 6 bites easily. Potatoes were only good item on entree. Asparagus was hilarious
$250 with our own wine and no desert. Went home and had a snack as we were still hungry
We are lucky we have two new steak restaurants in the riviera now, and without a doubt I would recommend pacific prime over Rex.
This was our first visit to Rex and it wasn’t a good experience. To begin with the restaurant was extremely loud. We could barely hear each other at our table. The waiter was not good at all. He could not help with wine selections at all and when we asked him to find someone who could help, he never did. I ordered a medium steak but I believe the waiter put in medium well and it was awful. The manager and chef agreed it was not what I asked for. They did bring another steak after waiting some time,and the few bites I took were good. The sides we had came to our table like warm.
For the money we paid we should have been wowed and our experience was far from it. I would not recommend your restaurant at this point.

Having dietary issues, such as gluten and dairy, is an issue with dining here. No salad or veggie options-broccolini was way undercooked. Love the place-just so difficult to order. The steak, however, was xlnt.

By far one of the best restaurants to get steak from… love the service and my waitress was just wonderful great personality and people skills i be alive her name is serana ( not quite sure).
We were excited to take in The Rex Steakhouse and we’re disappointed at the level of service that we experienced. It took 40 minutes to be served a cocktail, the servers attention to detail and speed was not up to a fine dining level. It didn’t appear that they were understaffed rather not focused on providing every table the same level of attention. The food overall was prepared well and had a nice presentation. It seems that they could really use some “front of the house” expertise. We spoke to the Chef and he appreciated the feedback and asked that we reach out to him directly on my our next visit. Sadly there are too many great steakhouses to choose from that I would choose first. The wine selection is very good however only a few under $100.00/bottle. The restaurant decor is very nice and contemporary. It does need some fine dining polish and training for the staff. I understand we are in the midst of Covid, however when you are paying exorbitant pricing for a fine dining experience you should be offered top notch service and attention to detail.

Waiter was rude and took our desert order never out it in had us sitting there as the last people inside the restaurant asked another waiter he said he was in the back packing up and never but the ticket in . Paying 200+ for 2 I feel service should be better
We had 7pm reservations, but didn't get seated until 7:30, but that's okay. We were offered drinks while we waited outside and when we were called the hostess was very apologetic. When we went inside I could see why we had to wait, the place was packed!! It was wonderful to see! Our server was great as were the hostesses at the front. I would say a very well trained staff.
The food was very good and everyone at our table said their steak was cooked to perfection.
I also loved the interior.
