Join us on Tuesday, February 28th – Sunday, March 19th and enjoy our new layout featuring 2 unique dining experiences: fine dining in the Steakhouse or upscale, casual dining in the Saloon! Or saddle up at one of our 2 bars or patio! The Ranch is comprised of two separate dining experiences and menus – the Saloon and the Steakhouse – along with two full bars offering beer, wine and liquor. The Saloon is a first come, first served dining experience featuring a large bar with nightly live music entertainment, along with the Porch, a covered outdoor patio with cocktail tables. The Steakhouse is the fine dining side where guests can reserve tables in advance. This year, Berg Hospitality is debuting “The Ranch After Dark” where guests can reserve lounge tables by the live music stage from 10pm-close.

The place itself is great. The ambiance, decor.. all great. As far as food for the price we expected amazing steaks and out of the 5 of us, one tasted more burnt than anything and the others had little to no seasoning. I honestly was disappointed in the food. The young woman who sat us was not friendly at all, never spoke, was more interested in talking with coworkers and literally placed the menus down and walked away fast. But the Dj and bar side was definitely a good time! Just wish the food would of been better we had high hopes. My $19 Ceasar salad was disappointing too! I never ever complain I just want to be honest. I’ve had better salads at pizza places nothing special. Definitely can’t wait for next rodeo to return but only to the bar side for music and dancing 🙂

This was a perfect ending to the HLSR year. It is wonderful to have a nice sit down meal with delicious food as an option at the Rodeo. We will see you again next year!

This is our second year dining at the Ranch during Houston Rodeo. We could not have asked for better more attentive service. We love the atmosphere and loved being able to walk to a great dining experience instead of driving. To us now The Ranch is a part of our rodeo Houston experience. We love it and will be back.

Rodeo experience was awesome and we had a server that was so great and fun that we truly hope she is hired at one of the permanent restaurants. Her name was actually Sparkles which absolutely fit her perfectly as she made our night so fun!!

We were treating out of town guests to the Houston Rodeo experience. We arrived at 7:30pm last Saturday the 20th and were seated in small room off the bar. Waiter seemed fine we were a party of six and requested separate checks for each couple. I asked to speak to sommelier, water arrived, the band began to play, and suddenly we could not hear each other speaking across the table. My chair was vibrating from the bass. It seemed early to crank the band up on a Saturday night, so we asked the waiter, the manager, and the sommelier to lower the music, no one did. Orders taken, reminded waiter that we wanted separate checks. Based on price of steaks and entrees and as a regular at Sophia’s we expected the high quality steak house experience you would expect from B&B. Service was rushed and disorganized, my food was not hot and my steak, a $68 New York strip, was not up to B&B standards, Au Poivre sauce was down right cold, four of the six meals in our party were not hot. Food in general was not served or prepared in a way that was commensurate with the price we paid. Rather than send it back we decided to eat and get out of there, since the music was so loud. To add injury to insult the waiter failed to split the check. I put the wine on my check and it came to $400, he then went around the table asking each guest what they had had, crazy. I the end he returned to me and explained he needed an additional $23 as he had failed to add to my check. It was mess. I spoke to the manager, he comped the $23 and said he was sorry. Table probably generated well over $1000 but he showed no concern. On the way out at the front of the restaurant we dissuaded at least a dozen potential customers to avoid the restaurant. This was such a bad experience I’m not sure we will return to Sophia’s or B&B. With as many fine restaurants as Houston has I see no reason return. I get that the bar is a cash cow, that’s cool, then advertise that that you are a bar, not fine dining.

My wife and I dined here before attending the Rodeo and concert by Brad Paisley. We each had a Caesar salad and split the 8 oz Filet Mignon. My salad had very little dressing. My wife said hers had enough. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was probably the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant. We each had a couple of drinks. The only downside was the restaurant adding a tip but still showing the tip line on the check. If our waitress hadn't told me that it was included, I would tipped again. I am used to the tip being included for parties of 6 or more, but not for just 2 people. I will probably dine there again next year during the Rodeo.

Got together with family to eat here while The Ranch was open at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. We love to eat here each year it opens at the rodeo.

Our group was excited to repeat out girls day at rodeo, beginning with brunch, only to find out brunch was not available. Not sure if brunch is no longer a thing, or it just wasn’t available because it was the last Saturday of rodeo. Everything else was great, service was incredible!!

There aren’t enough characters allowed to express my disappointment and displeasure with my experience yesterday evening. As a frequent and loyal customer to this establishment not only at the rodeo but the brick and mortar as well, the treatment or lack-thereof was abysmal. I had a 10:30 reservation for a high-top table for two, we arrived at 10:05 expecting to wait as is customary given the event and (Friday) night of the week. However, after waiting for well over an hour and watching multiple groups be seated at high tables before us despite my reservation was alarming. I finally spoke with the host and pointed out a high-top table in the corner near the Photo Booth where by she proceeded to walk over and tell us we were good to sit and occupy, only to have another host randomly show up with a larger group claiming they had paid (bottle service) and were told to be sat at that table by some mysterious manager (Jason) who never showed himself. I was unwilling to move from the table given we had been waiting over 1.25 hrs. The random hostess (whom had been slipped a hefty tip) proceed rd to go outside and bring in a HPD officer to remove us from the table along side some other assistant manager who in his best attempt to deescalate the situation sided with the paid-off host, the unnecessary officer, and the missing manager named Jason. Seeing how this was causing my wife discontent and discomfort I reluctantly stood from the table and spoke to the assistant manager and respectfully expressed my displeasure and how as a loyal customer who frequents their establishment at least 80% of the nights during rodeo and at least 3x’s a month at their brick mortar with numerous guest I was completely offended and aggravated with their treatment and service. The assistant manager proceeded to attempt to provide us with a table, so he put together a make shift high-top against the exit doors near the Photo Booth where everyone was going outside. In essence we sat at midnight.

Everything was amazing. Loved our cocktails, Carpet Bagger is a must! Butchers Butter did not disappoint. The filet was perfect as was the Brussel sprouts and lobster Mac and Cheese. Great dinner while entertaining our ship broker visiting from Norway. Our server Sarah was great! She did get busy but definitely had support from other staff as well.

Firstly the restaurant was packed! Hard to even navigate the bar area. The restrooms were having issues and that left extremely long lines. I ordered my dinner, then went to the bathroom. By the time I finally made it back to the table our food had arrived and was nearly cold. I had the porkchop which was below average. Calamari was good and my husband said his steak was good. Service was very inattentive and they added a 23% gratuity automatically on a party of 2! I get that it’s a pop up venue, on rodeo grounds. I give it those breaks. But I wouldn’t return

The ambience and the live music was great. The food was good but way overpriced for what we received. My steak was too charred on the outside and they automatically charged a 23% gratuity on already expensive items. Overall it was cool on the inside but I won't be back to eat. If I'm going to pay a lot for food at the rodeo I'll go to the vendors outside.

I was disappointed my expensive cocktail was in a plastic cup. My husbands beer came in a can. The steak salad had absolutely no flavor. Chef Tommy’s bacon was delicious. I felt is was extremely overpriced for what you got.

Whomever came up with this idea, BRAVO to them!! Went last year and this year and both outstanding. The food, service, and staff are incredible. It is loud, fun, and the place to go before the rodeo. I had reservations both times and I would definitely suggest getting them. The bar is so fun as well and we ate there 2 nights! Definitely a place I will continue to visit!!

The place was crazy packed, but it was a steakhouse inside a tent outside the Astrodome during rodeo. They tricked out that tent. They had live music, a large bar area and the seating was great. Our waiter did a great job and even made sure to tell us that the 23% tip was already added to the tab so no need to tip any additional. It was expensive, but, like I said....we were in a tent outside the Astrodome, but it felt like being inside their regular dining room over on Washington Avenue. It's B&B Steakhose by the way. We had a great time. Then went and saw Chris Stapleton.

An outstanding fine dining experience at Rodeo! We went on a rainy afternoon, so while it was quiet and there weren't a lot of people, the ambiance was still quite lovely. I felt removed from the craziness of Rodeo outside, while still enjoying the themes reflected inside. Cozy would be the best way to describe it. Our food was phenomenal. We split the thick cut bacon and each ordered the open faced steak sandwich and I had the Angel's Envy Gold Rush cocktail. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He was kind and attentive, yet, I didn't feel hounded throughout my meal. I can't wait to go back next year! I plan to take all my friends who visit for their first rodeo here! 10/10 for me!

Overall we enjoyed the experience. Our food and wine were for the most part very good - filets, southwestern salad, Brussels sprouts, and bacon-wrapped quail. The table server was very good and helpful with wine selection. I tried the Wagyu butcher's butter and found it to be chewy and tasteless. The place was very crowded and loud. Our Texas old fashioned and lemon drop cocktails were tasty but expensive and served in plastic cups. A 23% service charge was automatically added to our bill.

Good food, great ambiance, however we sat at a table very close to the fan and it was miserable. Our two children were freezing and complained most of the meal. We’d have enjoyed it more if we were at a different table. We had to finish our drinks outside just to warm up.

I didn’t know they had a night club later in the evening. Our meal was disturbed by patrons drinking and up dancing next to our table. I did provide a change in atmosphere. The nightclub music was so load we couldn’t hear each other. The food was still outstanding as always. Our waitstaff was very attentive.
