Usually the service and quality is great, this time it was really disappointing. Seems like they were having trouble getting used to more people now that there’s some nice weather to eat on the patio. Service was slow, food prep was rushed and not what I’m used to for this restaurant.
Second time post covid trying to visit this establishment. The first time we were told we needed a reservation. So this time we made a reservation for 8:45 for a party of two only for us to drive 20 minutes and arrive and be told that they can not seat anyone because the kitchen closes at 8:45. This is after having stood at the hostess station waiting for someone to greet us for quite some time. Another patron who was dining witnessed this and brought it to the managers attention. We are all doing the best we can in COVID but this was a mess.
Great as usual!
Great food, great drinks and great service! Brian was amazing, very funny and friendly :)
Food was great. The place wasn’t what I expected, but it was fine. A few updates could improve the ambiance and would likely draw in more people. We sat at a table that was too small for 4 people- we were cramped. Overall, the waitress was nice and food was good.
Was in town for work and brought my girlfriend to town with me so we could celebrate our special Valentine’s Day dinner together. We made reservations about a week ahead of time and we’re glad we did. It was busy but not packed. Tables were spread out comfortably and felt safe because of this. Our server was great and the food was excellent. A great romantic evening lit by a candle was just what we needed! Thanks Raleigh Times.
Valentines Day
Raleigh Times is always amazing. Brian is the Best!! He makes your experience there so much better! If in Raleigh, this is a must see. Atmosphere, food, drinks, history. Love it all.
Decent overall, great service, good food but not brilliant environment with music that didn’t suit the place and was too loud. Too political as well
Our server Brian was ammmaaazing! All of our food was so yummy and quick and the drinks were delicious as well. I will definitely be returning back!
I came here with my boyfriend and we did not feel welcome at all. We had outdoor seating but were not offered a heater like the other parties. We left right after we received our water.
Dined inside. Very safe. Most people were outside. Waiter was fun.
Glad to enjoy a nice, safe, and delicious dinner at Raleigh Times on a Friday night!
We ordered the devil's on horseback as an appetizer. It was delicious. I had the pork borchata burrito. Super good. My bf had a burger and my son got the Ruben. They were happy with their meals and we shared an apple tart ala mode. We came on a quiet Tuesday. They have all doors cracked open because of Covid so dress warmly
The food was really good and our server was really nice and gave recommendations!
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and were placed at a table next to a door which were told had to remain open. This was a cold night and not a good overall experience, which is what I usually have when we come here. Rather than try to move us, we’re told by our server this was company policy because of COVID. I appreciate the safety concerns but would expect these tables next to open doors when the outside temp is at or near freezing.
Enjoyed the experience, but they really need to close the doors! It’s so cold in the restaurant with them open.
Fantastic, great food and service!
The Chicken parm sliders were excellent.
Great as always!
The food is consistently good.
Food was greasy and gave us all bad stomach aches. Waitress took forever ever though she didn’t have many tables at all.
Amazing experience and service
Great atmosphere, service was excellent. Food was delicious, especially the Brussel sprout salad! Prices are fair and portions are generous!
Great experience but it was freezing and they couldn’t shut the door! No other tables were open to move.
Birthday Brunch!
We had reservations for an evening out celebrating. When we arrived, all the doors were propped open which made it cold inside - it was pouring rain and 36 degrees out. The waitress, who was obviously very cold herself, said that the doors were open for air circulation and they were not allowed to close the doors. We didn't eat - didn't stay. No wonder the place was so empty inside. I'm not sure how their staff is supposed to make any money that way and of course it's no conditions to work in or eat. They had all my contact information because I'd made a reservation. They knew how cold it was inside - the waitress explained she was working in thermal underwear. They should have let me know before wasting an hour of my time traveling downtown, in the rain, parking and getting there and leaving without service.
Great food, drink and service. I will definitely be back again
We were pretty embarrassed that our 1 year old kept screaming but the staff was really polite and talkative with him. Great food and drinks even better staff!
The food was great, drinks were perfect, but the best part honestly was our server Brian A, he was AWESOME! Easily the reason why we will be back more ☺️
Loved the food, the service-everything!!! Great prices for quality food. Love this place! B
We had a group of 6 and sat outside. It was great!
Good food, good service, no wait to be seated. We'll be back
Great ambiance, good food, I had the burger and my boyfriend had the Reuben and we were both pleased with the quality.
Nice place for lunch, bar snacks and sandwiches. Quick service. Old Fashioned with cinnamon simple syrup was perfect.
Do not order the burger based on the picture in their own menu! When I tried, I was told, "oh, we don't have that, it's just a picture."
If I was selling a bicycle, I would not put up a picture of a motorcycle. The drinks were meh and the fries were cold. Maybe we went on a bad night, but it will be a long time before I return.
The rooftop patio was amazing and we loved it for our date!
The only reason I gave this restaurant five stars was because I couldn’t give em 6. I can’t speak highly enough about this establishment. Fantastic atmosphere, great food and two of the best bartenders I’ve ever encountered in Matt and Zach. The Raleigh times made our evening. Instantly became one of my favorite spots in downtown Raleigh. I can’t wait to go back.
Overall I found the entrée food to be mediocre and parking can definitely be a challenge. However, the drinks and dessert were very good. This is a very cool place to hangout and the music selection was great. The service was great as well. I'd go back.
Sitting outside with the pups & ALL of us are taken care of! Love it.
