    We go here for our belated valentines dinner every year. The duck is consistent and wonderful. Drinks are amazing. All other dishes are good but only a few knocked our socks off (but duck is always amazing).

    Overall great experience. The food compares with the best restaurants anywhere. Definitely not cheap but one of the few places in SF that I can say is honestly worth the price.

    This place exceeded all the expectations I had! I’ve been wanting to check this place out for over a year now ever since I heard about it on the Michelin Guide. Booked a dinner reservation for my birthday dinner. Parking was pretty easy, but we got lucky and found a spot in front of the restaurant. The check-in process was pretty smooth, there were 2 parties that checked in ahead so the wait wasn’t very long. We got set up with a table and they even ought a special menu decorated with birthday wishes for me. Our server was very enthusiastic, friendly and attentive. She started out asking for drinks while giving us time to look at the rest of the menu. After bringing the drinks she gave us a run down of the menu and her recommendations. Just a heads up they take all the orders up front but give you plenty of time to decide on what dishes you would like to order for your group. My girlfriend and I ordered the cabbage and tofu salad, potato foam caviar, masa dumplings, seaweed noodles, rabbit anolini and the liberty farm duck. They’re well known for the potato foam and the liberty farm duck. Every dish they had was well prepared, the texture and flavors were well balanced and blew me away. Our server surprised us with an extra dessert because we ended up finishing the liberty farms duck. She was pretty surprised we finished the duck, she told us most people don’t end up finishing it but it tastes better the day after lol. Hands down would love to come back to this place and would love to check out their sister restaurant State Bird

    We took our son for his 25th birthday with our other son and we had a great time. The food was unique and very good. We had caviar potato, sweet potato, seared Albacore, rabbit ravioli, but the duck was spectacular. We had pineapple cake and the sundae for dessert. It was good. The service was excellent. Our server explained each dish very well. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Our favorite restaurant in SF, my parents’ favorite restaurant in SF, his Dad’s favorite restaurant in SF… you get the point. Any business dinner I’m planning I suggest The Progress, and we come here anytime family is in town, for birthdays, and for date nights. What I’m saying is, this place is pretty damn good. 10/10, an obvious first choice when eating out.

    A genuinely wonderful evening. The whole front of house team were delightful and the quality of the food was magnificent. The wine menu is extensive and they have some great bottles on there. It is hard to single out one dish for praise as they were all delicious, but the pig’s head with fennel salad was amazing. We’re already considering booking again as there were several dishes we wanted to try but couldn’t as we would never have finished it all. Overall, a great experience

    we were amazed that a grilled trout was$72. The it was charred with a crust of black rice very weird. it was a hip noisy crowd lots of empty wine bottles.

    The best part of the meal was the mushroom toast. I would go back just to have two or three. The rest of the meal was ok. We ordered the duck as a shareable plate. It was prepared very well. one star less was for the service. For the price, it was ok. The server didn’t go out of her way and sometimes dismissive when we couldn’t decide on desert. We felt unattended.

    The food did not blow us away but the drinks were superb. Felt like the kitchen forgot about us as our third plate came out late despite our order being some of the first taken for the evening. Very, very, overwhelmingly white crowd.

    The total experience was positive both times that I had dinner here. The menu is so innovative and everything we ordered was delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful and the dining areas are very pleasant with a sense of privacy in each space, even when the restaurant is full.

    The meal we had at The Progress was fantastic! Our waiter was very helpful in guiding us regarding quantities and favorites, they were incredibly attuned to various food allergies, and the food was creative and delicious. We liked it better than State Bird Provisions. We'll be back soon! Two particular favorites were the duck breast and the mushroom toasts.
