The space is nice and the ambiance was great. The meal was excellent as expected and our service was as well. The price matched the experience. They charge a 4% surcharge for service, which I think is fair.
The food and service at the Prado is always top notch. It's been over a year since we have been and last night was magical. Food, service, environment all terrific.
Had a horrible experience, wrong food was delivered and we had to wait roughly an hour and a half. Ended up taking the food to go. Also I asked the waiter for a water refill and in 1:45 that we were there never got a refill. This is unacceptable, I will not be returning here and sharing my bad experience with friends, family, and coworkers.
It was fabulously arranged for Mother's Day. The gnosh was amazing. Pleasant time had by all!
Fantastic Mother’s Day brunch. Beautiful setting and great food.
I would absolutely recommend the prado to anyone and everyone. However we would not recommend going on a holiday that has a prefixed menu. We did go on Mother’s Day and booked prior to knowing the menu. The eggs were horrible. Our server was awesome. The ambiance is wonderful. The food was not. Also we do not drink so only having the option of champagne included in the $40 per person isn’t fair. I then paid extra for a soda and lemonade.
Mother’s Day brunch. Many choices. Large portions. Always a good time.
We waited 15 minutes past our reservation time. Everything else was great.
Food is amazing and they are very gluten free friendly. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the patio area was perfect. Went for Mother’s Day and even with a set menu the portions were huge, we left stuffed. I will definitely be going back.
Fabulous service and wait staff!
great place. great food. very good server. would recommend
It was nice to be out on the patio. The food and the service was great, and the staff was courteous and helpful. The setting, looking out at Balboa Park, can't be beat.
Always great food and service. You cannot beat the location and the beautiful surroundings, especially the outdoor seating. Love, love, love The Prado.
I went for a girlfriend lunch. Beautiful terrace, good service and delicious food. A bit on the pricy end, but well worth it!
First time out after being fully vaccinated and we to the Prado because it is alway a wonderful time
Very nice people served and hosted us at this restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves. The food was great.
It used to be my favorite place to dine in that area. I imagine due to COVID it has drastically changed. Very limited lunch and dinner selection. Entrees come with nothing. No bread nor salad for $35 piece if fish and 90 minute limit. Used to be able to purchase great potato chips but no more. Overall a dissatisfied customer for the first time ever there. Hope they can rise again.
Delicious food, lovely ambiance and a mean Negroni. All so good!
Stunning location, both inside and outdoor dining. Food is very good and service excellent.
Seemed overpriced for what was served. No bread or crackers
with huumus, The salmon needed sauce and farmer's salad was
very plain with little dressing.
First off our reservation was for 7pm. When we were seated the waiter told us the kitchen closed at 7:30. Ridiculous. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server overpoured our glasses. The black bean soup was fine, but the paella was horrendous. The rice was horrible and the seafood seemed like it was cooked hours before and inedible. The chicken substitute was improperly cooked and barely edible.
The fish tacos were inedible!! I always have them when I go to Prado. There were 3 wooden pieces of fish, 3 uncooked folded tortillas tasteless red cabbage and a pile of beans. I ate one bite of the fish and just drank water. What happened to the former delicious fish tacos? What a disappointment!
Beautiful outdoor patio with view of gardens and occasional jet flying into San Diego Airport. Outstanding service by Lisa. Mahi mahi sandwich with fries was good but nothing special.
great food, drinks and a wonderful property. We enjoyed our lunch!!
So great to be back after more than a year, and we loved it that our waitress remembered us!
Great service and good food. Won’t allow our puppy on back view patio only out front of bar patio.
Wonderful and relaxing. The airplane noise is my only complaint, but hey, what can you do
Place is nice - staff is great. Menu is very limited that is why I left only 4 stars.
We had a great time! Our service was wonderful & the food was Delicious!
The Prado is one of our favorites here in San Diego! We always enjoy ourselves!
Missed having the pita crackers/hummus that was offered in the past. Look forward to it returning in the future. Our server was great!
Felt very safe tables inside were spaced out. Wait staff was great . Restaurant week menu was nice. We have enjoyed coming here for many years. Glad we can feel safe to come now.
Nice. Return to almost norm!
The food at the Prado is always delicious. The wait staff was excellent, social distancing was practiced, and I enjoyed my first dine out in person in over a year.
Mary’s chicken was great but could be warmer especially for patio dining
My husband did not like the salmon dinner. The salmon was okay but the bokchoy was too stringy to eat. The whole thing was very plain and unexciting. We ordered the farmer’s salad which was good but changes made to it to that I noticed as have ordered it as an entree with steak or shrimp for years. Hoping these were economic due to Resturant Week menu
Unbelievable pork chops. So tender and wonderful taste. We truly enjoyed ourselves.
Great ambiance. Good food. Great margaritas. The setting is so pretty
Always a great spot on a beautiful day in San Diego. The food was excellent, as was the service (Lisa).
We enjoyed a lovely meal and it was nice to have the drink included in the restaurant week price instead of the desert. MUCH BETTER!
We came late afternoon in daylight to sit on patio overlooking the park landscape. Amazing setting. Service was attentive and helpful. We ordered a robust caesar salad, tasty crab dip, braised short ribs, and shellfish paella. All were delicious. One of the best venues in San Diego!
We have always enjoyed the ambience at the Prado and were excited that they had reopened. The portions for the appetizers, salad and drinks were very generous. The upcharged Ribeye was large and almost too tough to cut with a steak knife and it was rare, which is usually the most tender. We have enjoyed the Paella in the past, but the sausage was tough, the rice was mushy and the dish was pedestrian and a very small portion compared to regular menu and past orders. There were not good gluten free options for dessert. We have always enjoyed dining at Cohn Restaurants in the past and know that times are tough with the restrictions and shut downs, but we will probably only return to The Prado for outdoor glass of wine and an appetizer. For $50 Restaurant Week selections, it was not up to the usual Cohn Restaurant standards and I hope that they can rectify the shortcomings after they have been open for a while.
