This is one of our favorite places to eat in San Diego - and we live here. The patio dining is wonderful although can get hot in the sun (aren't we lucky?). The food is very good and plentiful - love the calamari fries. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. My only wish is that they would bring back the lobster pot pie that was on the menu a while ago, We'll be back!
Our server Nicole was fantastic. Great service
Friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding also. We have been at the Prado before but not for dinner. Would highly recommend it.
The food and service was excellent Dominic, our waiter was great
La comida deliciosa y el servicio excelente! volveremos pronto.
We got lots of food and shared it all. There was a pipe organ concert going on and it made for an interesting experience.
I love sitting on the patio. Beautiful place for a date night. The inside dining is a little loud if it’s full so I prefer outside on the patio where it’s quieter and there are heaters everywhere.
I took my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. Was terrible, the server took long time to come to us, the food was ok, the price is a little higher what they have to offer also the most important part full of cockroaches. Seriously at the outdoor area, nasty. We had to leave Before the dessert. Horrible experience. Also they know have cockroaches over there so they don’t have any reaction about it.
I almost always have the Pork Chop when I go to Prado. It's the best pork chop I've ever had in my entire life. It's a nice, thick chop, cooked to perfection, juicy but done, and comes with a mustard crust, served over mashed potatoes. My husband had a combo of salmon and short rib and it was also delicious. Devon was our waiter, friendly but not overly so, helpful, polite and there when needed but invisible when he wasn't. All that means is that the service was perfect.
Wonderful food! Wonderful service! Nice leisurely lunch - waitress gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and our friends!
Always enjoy lunch and dinners at The Prado. Atmosphere is very nice, food very good, and have always been very happy with the service. When it's busy it can be rather noisy, but when it's not so busy it's much quieter in the inside dining room and you can comfortably have a conversation. Actually have come to prefer eating inside rather than out. Again, atmosphere is very nice inside, but also outside too. Do suggest you make reservations because The Prado can get rather busy, especially on the weekends
Celebrating my wife's birthday, we were not in a hurry and our waiter Devon kept everything at a nice relaxed pace. All four of us ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. This is a special place for a memorable experience.
The only complaint I have is the parking situation. The Valet was full, and we had further to walk than we planned, as we need Disabled parking.
The meal was excellent and artfully presented. Dining room was completely empty on a Saturday night because the nearby theaters were closed, which made conversation very easy. Normally there is more noise.
Great food and ambiance. Recommend eating outdoors for a wonderful experience!
Excellent restaurant! The food and drinks are amazing. We have always had good service too.
The outdoor seating is so lovely, w/garden views and a wonderful patio.
The Prado is slipping for me. While the ambiance is still gorgeous, the food quality and service have most definitely declined. I witnessed a staff member clean off a table and drop one of the bread crisps they serve on the ground. Instead of picking it up with his hands he kicked it off to the side with his foot. Not what you’d expect to see at this level of a restaurant. Additionally, there was a party with a DJ on the second level, which prevented the evening from being relaxing considering you could hear the DJ’s music and restaurant music at the same time. Overall, I was disappointed and won’t be going back for awhile.
We had originally gone on one of our first dates here years ago and went back. While it was Halloween weekend it was not busy, actually not busy at all which made it a nice quiet evening with fantastic starters, Kobe beef rolls and lobster potstickers were awesome! Dinner was equally if not better. Price was far less than other locations for much better food in my opinion.
The service was really bad at this location. The waitress barely checked on us we and it took forever for 1 person in the party to get utensils it took forever to get the check when she knew we had an event to get too. The menu was very limited and not kid friendly. I would never go to this restaurant ever again.
Nice atmosphere and right on the Prado next to the San Diego Museum of Art. Don't forget to look up at the ceilings....gorgeous and historic.
Our yearly visit to our wedding reception location did not disappoint. Great food, excellent service, and awesome cocktails. Looking forward to coming again your way next year!
Lovely setting when the weather is fine. Lovely menu too - and tasty.
Nice dining experience.
We had an amazing time. Dick, our waiter, was fantastic. He was attentive, sincere, and made us feel like we were the only table he was waiting on. We were also thankful for his recommendations. When we return we will most definitely request to be in his section. The food And ambiance were also excellent.
We totally enjoyed our dining experience at the Prado restaurant.
It was fantastic! Went to see the Heart of Rock and Roll - Saturday matinee and dinner at the Prado. Loved the ambiance and food. Great service and very welcoming. My husband had the calamari fries as an appetizer (see photo) and loved it.
Delightful California cuisine restaurant in historic Spanish hacienda style building next door to Museum of Art in gorgeous Balboa Park.
It is very pretty. We have been there several times. The food was not as good as usual on this last visit.
My husband and I have eaten here several times for special occasions. We like the consistency of always being very good.
Always a wonderful experience.
We had a terrific dining experience on Wednesday evening out on the patio
Ambience and service were great 👍
Sea bass was very well presented on a bed of finely chopped vegetables and a delicious mild sauce - a little on the bland side - but perfectly cooked
Great wine selection - - great experience!!
Excellent salmon. I had the Tuesday date night special for 2 with the bottle of wine for just under $50. Outstanding food and service.
The Tuesday Date Night Special and the October Santa Ana weather made this a night to remember.
This venue is a gem inside the treasure that is Balboa Park. Good food, wonderful ambiance, attentive servers...just delightful all around! Check the website often for all of the creative lunches, dinners, and special menus and events they offer. One of our favorites in San Diego.
Fantastic service and food! We enjoyed our dinner and will be back soon!
This is one of our favorite restaurants while in San Diego. Why? Because Prado fills the needs. Good ambiance, great food and great vibe. One is already in a good mood being in the Park. The Prado is the icing on the cake. I think we first starting coming 18-20 years ago and never miss. Chris Morgan
I love the serve inside they would ask if it’s your first time, they walk you through the menu! I love that and the food we picked out was great we cleaned out our plates well.
My fiancé and I enjoyed a romantic dining experience. Service and food was exceptional! Better than I could have ever expected. I had a top sirloin grilled to perfection while she enjoyed shrimp and filet also perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Our service was exemplary! The young man polite, helpful and very knowledgeable of the menu items.
Reasonably priced for a nice evening. I will definitely return again.
Thank you to the amazing Prado team for making this a wonderful night to remember!
Huge crowd but service was still amazing. Menu had a great selection and everyone enjoyed their meal
This is such a nice restaurant! Great value and wonderful service.
