Always excellent. The pork prime rib was delicious.
The risotto was bland. The place is fun n colorful. Good service. Easy before the theater
We loved Our wait person Donna. She took such good care of the 4 of us. She made us feel so relaxed.
Took almost 45 minutes to bring food to our table Unacceptable
We were with you this past Tuesday evening; going to play at 7:00 pm. Arrived at 5:30 and were seated soon after arrival.
Noel promised us prompt service due to play. The following:
1. We ordered two glasses of house Chardonnay; 20 mins. to deliver. "We ran out of clean wine glasses."
2. Ordered dinner.. a split Caesar salad. Beautiful greens but a totally bland dressing. No hint of garlic or anchovies. Turnoff!
3 Also both ordered Pan roasted Sea Bass. Long. long wait... asked Noel several times about food. Finally delivered at 6:30. Nice presentation but had to gulp down 1/2 portion and leave for theater.
Hoped for "nice evening" turned into a rushed, uneven experience. The Cohen's are better than this!
I have always had a good experience at the Prado. Every time. The food was perfect, service, and wherever you sit, it is always a good seat.
Excellent food selection
great ambience in the middle of the Park
waiters were very attentive an polite
We had 8pm reservations and were running about 10 mins late. I tried to call to let the restaurant know but there was no answer. However, we arrived within the allotted 20 min reservation hold and the hostesses did not seem to mind we were late.
The food was delicious, setting was nice although I t was really loud inside. Our server was nice and had a pleasant demeanor.
Had the short ribs, pork prime rib, and guava flan dessert. All were delicious.
The food was a real downer for me and I am not very picky. I got the salmon and short ribs and both were way too dry. There was way too much potato stuff on the plate - the ratio of entree to sides was way off. The bread they served was burned on top. Like black charcoal pieces. I am a huge dessert person and didnt order anything as nothing sounded more appealing than self serve frozen yogurt which was my back up plan. My boyfriends rib eye was good though and the service was excellent.
The service and environment was great however the food was subpar at best. When we ordered a dish and it tasted terrible, our hostess brought us a different dish that was much better.
Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends! The food was Delia IOU’s and great cocktail and wine selection.
The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the sea bass, jadori chicken, and short ribs. All amazing!
We love this place and never miss an opportunity to dine here. I only wish they'd change the menu a bit more often.
We love the Prado but the last two times there have been a mix of disappointments.
Previously our chicken on the kabob appetizer was undercooked. But the view was incredible of the Organ Pavillion.
The last time we had reservations at 11:45 . We were not seated until 12:15. They took another group of three thinking it was us even though I had inquired twice!
After we were seated a manager came to our table and apologized and said we would have complimentary desserts. OK, nice! But then the server only allowed us one dessert to share when we expected 3 desserts for 30 minutes of our time away from museums. We were aquaintances not family , it made for an uncomfortable situation avoiding each others forks. Too bad for such a beautiful location and high expectations
Great food and atmosphere! I had the Caesar salad and garlic mashed potatoes which were both amazing!
Food and service in the restaurant was very good. Service in the bar was marginal. The servers in the bar were apparently overloaded or new. Our credit card was billed incorrectly. The day after this visit I contacted the management of the Cohn group and they quickly resolved the credit card issue. We will be returning to this store but will be very observant of potential credit card issues. Parking can be an issue at this store, so arrive early or use valet especially on performance nights at the Old Globe or during the summer.
Great place to take our mom for her 70th birthday! Really love The Prado for any occasion, thanks for making hers extra special.
The Prado is our restaurant of choice for celebrations. The food, service, and ambiance are consistently fantastic at The Prado! We were celebrating an early Valentine's Day and ordered off the Tuesday Date Night menu. It's a great value - $49 for two salads, two entrees, and one bottle of wine. My wife and I both had the Mustard Crusted Prime Pork Rib - Delicious! The Prado has never let us down. We greatly enjoyed our Valentines Day celebration at The Prado!
Love this place!
Such good food and perfect when going to the Globe on Tuesday because they have a special date night menu that is an extremely good deal!
The Prado is one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. We love the variety of the menu and the quality of the food and service are always first rate. It's a great place to take a break from visiting Balboa Park.
Noisy but typically is.
We come each year to celebrate our daughter’s adoption day. They make it special every year. The steaks are fantastic. My daughter still loves ordering the mac and cheese from the kids menu although she is past that age. And my other daughter can’t get enough of the complimentary hummus and flatbread.
Food and wine were very tasty. Service was quick in order to allow us to get to the theater. Great experience
As a season ticket holder for The Old Globe, we would be soooooo happy if The Prado would
change the menu a bit. We are really tired of the choices and would love to see something different.
We have found a restaurant that is close enough where we have gone a few times and love the food! We only came to your restaurant Saturday night because we had a gift card.
Food very good. Ambience lovely. Service excellence. Even nicer when the weather cooperates and you can eat outside. That’s the best
Great food, as always. It was crowded so it was noisy. Quick and courteous service.
Hi, It would really be nice if you had a “lighter side menu”. We are three older ladies and would love half a sandwich with a small bowel of soup or a small side salad. Your sandwiches are quite large, none of us finished our sandwiches or ate the fries. We didn’t like the marinated veggies, the pasta salad, or the other sides that were offered with them. We were offered a child’s salad for additional three dollars. It didn’t make sense to me to pay extra for a salad when I wasn’t going to eat half of the food on my plate. Maybe have a senior lunch menu or a locals menu. Also, lower calorie and fat sides would be nice. Fries just don’t cut it anymore, so many people are trying to eat healthier. (It was a cold day, and none of us wanted a salad, which is what I usually get.)
Thank you, Renee McCune
Romantic place , food, ambience and service are great
I would definitely come back
We are very loyal to the Prado esp. when attending the Old Globe. The service is excellent and the food always delicious.
Service was disappointingly slow! The food was wonderful and the surroundings were lovely, as always, our server got a bit testy when we asked when dessert would be served. I therefore believe the problem was in the kitchen. I love the Prado and will certainly return, hoping that this was just a temporary glitch.
Tuesday date nite is the best deal in town. We come often - we are subscribers to the old globe and the Prado is our go-to restaurant
Great place to enjoy a nice evening with significant other, date or friends. Food is amazing every time. Ambiance is great to not to quite and not to loud. Arrived early and Waited at the bar area before our reservation was ready. The bar is great even if your not there for dinner they have tapas, flatbreads and food. Would recommend this place to everyone.
Celebrating my husbands birthday. The experience was perfect.
Great location for pre theatre, but fish was overcooked even tho we emphasized that point
This place is always dependable for a nice lunch in Balboa Park. Food is always good and the atmosphere is nice.
The service was excellent--friendly attentive without being intrusive. (server: Amanda)
Decor is very attractive--sort of Spanish. We ate indoors because of the weather; outdoor seating is very nice in good weather.
Noise level was uncomfortably high until people left to go to the theater.
Food: Prime rib/salmon combination excellent. Sea bass was mediocre.
Desserts: guava flan delicious; apple/pecan cheesecake disappointing.
Always love dining at this lovely restaurant. Very convenient to all activities in Balboa Park!!
Really good service, tenouraide seating is awaome, good wine selection, food selection and quality very good
All good but despite strong request when ordering my fish was overdone.
Flatbread and proprietary hummus excellent as always.
