The Post Chicken & Beer - Lafayette
At The Post Chicken & Beer our motto is Hot Chicken Loves Cold Beer. Our brewers brew beers that are gosh darn delicious, memorable, and something you will want to put in your mouth repeatedly. Featured by Guy Fieri on Food Network's Diners Drive-Ins &; Dives, our bird is better than the rest--humanely raised, all natural chickens are brined for hours, dipped in buttermilk, seasoned with GLUTEN-FREE flour, and then fried to crispy golden perfection.

How do you make chicken this good? Amazing staff. Food is always out fast. Good beer selection. What's not to like?
Great food - better sides than when I last visited a few years ago. And the fried chicken continues to be outstanding.
I love this place! Especially how it’s set up, the food is amazing especially the chicken and waffles 🍗 🧇 ♥️!! Service was great, other servers even came up to our table to check on us, as did the manager at the end of our meal to make sure we enjoyed everything.
We love The Post! Have our favorites and never disappoints. The patio is the best. This is a “Go-To” place whether we are dining in or taking out.
Literally the best service I have ever had. We took my elderly grandma and great uncle for a Sunday meal, and our sever took impeccable care of us and especially them. Post’s food is unassailable, the atmosphere is all fun and good juju, and the service just absolutely knocked it out of the park. Thank you!
The Post is usually a favorite for girls day. So sad to find out that donut holes are now fried in the fryer rendering the GF fried chicken not safe for a celiac. Keep the fryer GF so everyone in our party can enjoy a meal. And alert your customers about this change as many people come to the post for GF and not be informed by their server and get sick.
Great experience! Great food! Would eat there again!
Brunch at the Post is back and it is better than ever y'all! We sat outside in the shade and had a lovely time. Don't pass on the deviled eggs!
We were seated into a booth with 5 adults. Thankfully one of us is petite. We ordered 5 dinners. Most of the food was good. Mashed potatoes were dry and stiff but my daughter was too polite to tell the server. The half roasted chicken dinner was over priced at $18 for the small sized chicken and arugula with a few cherry tomatoes. No bread or potatoes was included. The Moscow Mule was watered down with too much ice.
This was our second time there and overall it’s a good restaurant.
The fried chicken sammy and chicken & waffles are always good!
The food is always so good! The best chicken and side dishes! My husband loves the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and my son loves the Mac n cheese.
The beers are fabulous-you can’t go wrong with a Townie!
We can’t wait until the pimento cheese is back!
This place is a favorite. The food is always good and the service is great.
Love the beer. Love the fried chicken. Love the smoked chicken wings too. Today just a tad overcooked.
Great food as always. Wish you brewed a GF beer.
Delicious food and beer in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Food was excellent. Had the wings to start and chicken and waffles. Chicken was perfect. Wings were crispy with a kick to them. Also shared a side of Mac and cheese. Very good!
Server was very rude. Burnt bun on burger. We asked for the English muffin to be toasted and instead we got a burnt hamburger bun. We then asked another server for the English muffin and it came out burnt as well. We were never checked on. And the burger was not mw and not mr as we ordered.
We had to find a manager to speak with. They were up front not seeming to be doing much while the restaurant was in chaos around them. Did not seem equipped to handle our frustration.
Food is good. Beer is good. Fried chicken was delicious. Had to send the french fries back, because they were cold. There was no problem. All good! Greens were flavorful. This time I did not order their smoked wings. One of my favs!
Greatest fried chicken available AND gluten free for the family members that are watching out for that! We had a great dinner and a real good time.
Wonderful as always. Only complaint was the seating was really cramped. They put six adults in a booth that really should only take four and maybe a couple children.
It was a good experience overall, our server was very attentive and friendly. She was training a new server and both took care great care of us.
The food and drinks were excellent. The ambiance was great and the noise level moderate.
loud and food was just okay..................................
A dependable choice for good food, good service.
We come to the Post for their GF fried chicken, as my husband has celiac disease. We heard through the grapevine that they were offering a GF skillet chocolate chip cookie as a special. This is something we can't find anywhere and can't make ourselves easily at home. I made special reservations and even called ahead to ensure it was still on the menu. However, when it came time to order dessert, our server told us that there was no chocolate chip cookie available. We were very disappointed and settled for something else, as we had already promised our kiddo dessert (an extreme rarity for us). Before leaving, we asked once more, pointing to the listing on the specials card. Our server said, "My bad." No other explanation or attempt to resolve our disappointment. We even mentioned to her that we had called ahead and the reason for our visit was the cookie. I just feel like more should have been done, given the situation. Still appreciate the quality of their fried chicken, however.
We really enjoy the happy hour at The Post, it's a great selection for a quick bite, as a late lunch/early dinner. The chicken is AMAZING!
Love this place!!
Once again, this was a great experience with delicious food and good service. highly recommend this restaurant.
The dinner was awesome! Really tasty. Family love with half Nash hot was delicious! Mac and cheese, was tasty, and the beets and sweets were so good!!
My problem lies in the price of the drinks. $10+ is really expensive. Absurd actually. To be fair, most places charge this, but it's still lame. My 'Mule' last night was ok, but small, and definitely not worth the price. The cost of a glass of wine is the same as a bottle at the store. Just really expensive if you like to have a cocktail with dinner, let along two!
I can't justify spending $40 on four drinks (two for me and two for my wife) on TOP of the dinner prices. Of course, if you don't drink, you cut your bill in half, I understand this, but my point it, it shouldn't cost my son's college tuition to have a couple of drinks and dinner. Save the fancy names, and excess bull, and let's get back to traditional cocktails and 'normal' prices; which we all know is still marked up a ton!
As usual the service & food were outstanding! One suggestion, with all your gluten free options, why not offer a gluten free bun to offer your customers?
We had a party of 7 with friends in from out of town. We ordered our dinner and drinks and were impressed at how swiftly our food arrived. All was wonderful! The chicken is always a winner and the sides are the best. Beer and beverages were all enjoyed. Thank you and keep doing what you do!
Food is as really good and our drinks were never empty until we decided not we were done. The brussel sprouts were particularly good.
Special treat for us trying to be healthy but gotta do those inflammatory fats now and again...hormesis! Thanks for being so GF friendly. A destination request for our out of town GF house guests.
We love the Post. Great place to bring kids, awesome dinners, brunch, lunch. Food quality has always been top notch.
Love the chicken
Once again, another delicious meal and great experience. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious.
The happy hour food we got was very tasty and the blueberry lemonade with bourbon was amazing.
Best fried chicken in Colorado and the sides are great too. They also have a fantastic bar and excellent beer choices.
We love the Post! Can't go wrong with the food, service and atmosphere!
Met friends for brunch. The food and service were fantastic! Very delicious and filling.
Delicious fried chicken!! I ordered the chicken and waffles but I was also grabbing bites of my husband's meal. Next time in I will order the 1/2 chicken myself! We also shared the green chili mac & cheese & it was creamy & delicious! Wish we'd tried the biscuits but that's another dish to come back for. Our server was helpful & friendly & we had a great 1st visit.
So glad you enjoyed yourselves, you ordered some of our favorites! Can't wait to see you again :)
