The Post Chicken & Beer - Estes Park
We start with humanely raised, all-natural chicken, brine it for hours, give it a dip in buttermilk, dredge it in seasoned gluten-free flour, and then pressure fry it to crisp, golden perfection. Our brewers craft incredibly drinkable, food-friendly beers meant to pair perfectly with your meal. Come for the chicken, come back for everything else.

The food was tasty, we were a party of three and all of us were pleased with our selections!
Our server Dylan was the best! The food here is great and we are actually going back again tonight!!
Great overall! Thanks
Had a very nice lunch.
We were seated quickly, food was prepared and sent to the table in great time!…food tasted awesome!
In July a group of us went for dinner. It was everyone's first time at the Post. One of my friends asked the waiter what he would recommend. He said the first 16 meals he ate at the restaurant was the "Not your Mother's Meatloaf." Both he and I ordered the meatloaf. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. I told everyone that would listen to me how good it was. That was then. Last night was my second time at The Post. Guess what I ordered and recommended to our guests? That's right, "Not your Mother's Meatloaf." It was not the magnificent meal I had a just a few months back. It was OK, but nothing I will brag about having had. My guests just said it was alright. I guess my friend and I just got lucky the first time. Oh well, it is Estes Park after all. The place where taste buds go to die.
I don't drink, so I can't recommend it for the bar.
We were some of the last people to arrive and they seated us and made us feel welcome. Food was great! The chicken breading is different, but I really liked it.
Dylan was our server and John was the manager. Both were kind, attentive, and great! The food was amazing. Biscuits, deviled eggs, and roasted chicken! 10/10 recommend.
Great place, great staff and delicious food
The chicken was way over cooked. The menu is fun but the if the food isn’t good doesn’t matter what’s on the menu.
The staff were delightful and the food was outstanding! Don’t be fooled by the “chicken this is a gourmet establishment. Wonderful finger-lickin date night!
The service was very good as well as the food. Brussel Sprouts appetizer was fantastic!
Had to catch a flight and the staff was great about expediting service so we could enjoy and still make our flight
nothing special at all. Honestly, safeway fried chicken is better. Maybe i caught a off night for the kitchen.
The menu needs to be expanded. There were mainly fried chicken offerings, which we expected, but the main courses have no other foods than the chicken and some very good gravy, but with nothing to put it on. No veggies, or potatoes, no garnish, nothing. The only sides available were those you might find at a fast food place. Great chicken, but the menu choices look the same as KFC, but not close to KFC prices!
Beautiful views if you eat outside, and the micro brews were excellent.
The Brussels sprouts, beer, and biscuits were amazing; so was the service. The chicken and waffles, however, were merely so-so, which was kind of a disappointment. The waffles were cold and tasted like freezer waffles, and the chicken, while breaded nicely with a fantastic tasting sauce, was stringy and tough. Could’ve just been an off night, though; everything else was really nice, and the patio is beautiful!
Wonderful service, great food, the perfect stop after a long day exploring Rocky Mountain NP.
Food and beer were both great!
I really wanted to like the place because it is part of Hotel Stanely but… it was pretty awful. They cook the chicken in pressure cookers like the original KFC of Colonel Saunders but they overcooked it and burned it and seasoned it badly and used a scrawny chicken with not much meat. Even the french fries were nondescript . I don’t really know how you mess up fried chicken but.. they did. The staff was friendly and service quick but that doesn’t overcome bad food.
We were seated right away but table service was very slow. I ordered a Vodka and lemonade, but got straight lemonade even though I was charged for the vodka. The menu is very limited. The chicken option is for half a chicken, which is way to much food. The breading on the chicken is very bland. The chicken and waffles is basically a chicken strip and half a waffle. Very overpriced for what you get.
Great lunch outdoors
awesome chicken! We will definitely return. Patio has a beautiful setting.
Beautiful views, amazing food and beer, great service. We sat outside near a fire pit as the sun set. Downstairs is a magician’s paradise.
The service was amazing. The food was delicious and the drink was outstanding! Gluten Free chicken with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The deviled eggs were to die for! Only thing I didn't care for was the gravy, I prefer a milk based chicken gravy with my fried chicken, this had chorizo in it, which was a bit odd for me
Beware! It cost $10 to park! Otherwise, good.
It was delicious. Definitely try the brussel sprouts appetizer and don't pass up the mac-n-cheese. You won't regret it. We will be going back!
Party of 6. Everyone loved it. Food, service and Decor. Very friendly! Can’t wait to go again.
The chicken skins were delicious!
Chicken tenders were dry and they had no roasted chicken. How do not have chicken? Wouldn’t go back.
I feel that the establishment was great. Had a very good evening with my wife and great service and also great time.
Beautiful location and atmosphere. Great chicken and beer!
The margarita and Long Island Ice Tea were sour. The chicken had so much pepper it was almost difficult to eat. The waitress was amazing and had my drink remade. The only thing I liked was the waffle, butter and syrup. The salmon was fantastic!!
Lights too bright over the South-East (1st from entrance) Booth we sat at - sun glasses required. We asked for another booth (they were all empty) and told ... "no, they are all dirty!" Wine was not par - had it been a bottle she'd have refused it... would have asked for another, if had another selection of Pinot Noir been available... so, wine selection could have been better. We must have come too late as the fried chicken was hard... I've been coming to the post for years, and you can't get bad chicken! But we did, This restaurant just opened so they are working the kinks out... SOOOO glad the post is opening another location - GREAT PLACE!
Very nice! Loved the outdoor seating and had a lovely server!
Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles,
Brussel Sprouts, Chicken BLT and collard greens were all tasty. Food was fresh and service was great!
Really good food, as usual, and decent prices considering the size of the portions. The drink/beer menu is on the pricey side. We sat outside and overall enjoyed it, but there weren’t too many heaters/fires for the chilly night. Luckily we brought coats and the delicious hot chicken warmed us up eventually. The main thing we weren’t expecting was paying $10 for parking at the Stanley Hotel! We did receive a $5 credit toward our meal, but the price still seemed steep just for parking in Estes. Still, by coming to the Stanley, the Post has easily become one of the best places to eat in Estes Park.
Great food, drinks and service. Lights needed to be turned down. Very bright.
Had a great lunch at the Post. Spectacular view, nice staff abd delicious chicken sandwich! Only thing I didn’t like was the $10 parking fee, $5 of which they took off the check. I think if you dine on site they should refund all of the parking fee. Otherwise a great experience!
Our experience was great, food over the top, service wonderful, and sitting out on the patio on a perfect fall weather day in the Rockies! Thank you for such a memorable day.
Beautiful view , waiter recommendations were good. Reasonable priced.
Staff was great, fantastic scenery outside. Food was overpriced. I had the chicken tenders and they were rubbery and didn't taste good. My husband had the meatloaf and that was good, but again quite expensive. It was clean and fairly quiet, but we sat outside, so not sure how it was inside. I wouldn't go there again but only because of the food and the prices, the staff and scenery are great.
