   The Pointe was all out of salmon, so we had the burger, filet, fish n chips and gnocchi, Caesar and caprese salads. Disappointed with only one option for vegetarian. The burger was generous in size but nothing special especially given the price. Filet was delicious.

   The food was very good and so was the service. Our only issue were the drinks. A gin martini was $18 and both times we ordered one, it was incorrectly made. When we questioned the price, they discounted the price by $3, still a ridiculous price, especially for the quality.

   Great dinner. Made dinner reservations for four, two couples, was a little casual, family kiddos resort restaurant feeling, lots of shorts, kids, nugget and fries when we first walked in. “Hmmm, maybe this was a swing and a miss” my first thought. We asked if it might be possible to sit on the patio. It would’ve been easy for them to say no, but they made a good effort to dry things up from the rain, light the patio heaters and out we went. Our Romanian waitress was a delight, very attentive, drinks were great, food was amazing, gnocchi, walleye and scallops were amazing! Thank you!!!! Will return.

   Food is amazing and our server was friendly and outgoing. A little forgetful. In review it is misleading for noise level. The high mark says "energetic" That is not quite what I would call "LOUD". The ambience is not the same; very open which makes a place lose the quaintness and comfort feeling. The servers in the past were always on top of everything. Only gave a 4 because we had to ask for so many things that the server kept forgetting. She was super nice, friendly and tried. example: Steaks with no steak knives, dessert with no silverware. Did not ask how we wanted our steaks done. After she took our order she brought the food back and did not know where the food went; put all the plates down in the wrongs spots. (lol) Desserts came with no blueberries (as described) when we asked for the blue berries, we were told they don't have any.?????? would have been nice to know. The lemon custard dessert is not the same without the blueberries. There were 2 young staff members who cleared the plates etc. Both of these young men were amazing. They made sure your water glass always had water. joked around and were incredibly well mannered and polite. We even tipped them.. On the servers defense I think they were short staffed (isn't everyone) and she did try. Just not the same quality of serves we have had in the past. I will be going back

   Wonderful food and service plus a stellar view! Chef curated menu - we had sesame crusted salmon with curry sauce, lime slaw and coconut rice. Also porcini crusted walleye with shiitake and asparagus risotto. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor very special. The best fine dining meal I have had since Covid started and with a view of lake Charlevoix - couldn’t have been better!

    The food was awesome - especially the salmon and walleye. You definitely have to try the deep fried brownies for desert. Beautiful location - we sat outdoors over looking Lake Charlevoix The staff was very attentive we Will definitely be back.

    Food was quite good. Wait staff was enthusiastic but obviously under trained. Asked to split salads and they brought one salad and put it back n between us. Setting is very nice but more casual than I expected from the photos.

    Wedding photos being taken a few feet away were a distraction. We left when the loud music started. I was charged the most I have ever paid for my cocktail. The server was excellent.

    Chris and team took great care of us during our an anniversary dinner. First time enjoying the dynamic food - gnocchi, scallops, Wagyu steak and walleye were delicious! We enjoyed the scenic sunset after dinner.

    Had 7 pm reservations and was not seated until 8 pm. The restaurant is poorly managed. There was not a manager present the whole time. The person in charge was a hostess who appeared to be college age and seemed not to know how to handle a reservation system. Food and service were great once we were seated and the view of the harbor is spectacular. Could be a great place if they can develop professional management.

    Unfortunately, the restaurant was poorly staffed the night of our dinner. After waiting 30 minutes with no one taking our drink orders I went to the bar to ask for someone to wait on us for cocktails. Again unfortunately, the waitress did not know what cocktails were! Sad reflection on the age of their waitstaff. We finally were able to order both drinks and food and after a too long delay, everything eventually arrived. On a positive note, we enjoyed the food!

    Food was great but took 45 minutes between apps and mains. Table next to us was seated after us and finished their dinner before ours arrived. Staff was apologetic but I see no excuse for fish and chips to take so long.

    We were seated outside , a great view of the marina and Lake Charlevoix. Our server, Elle, who appeared to be just starting her serving career was very polite, answered our questions, and was very attentive. We enjoyed an enjoyable evening, and will return.

    Sweet waitress, but zero training, no wine selection only 1 offering of 4 categories, ambiance not good and food was just ok. Walley was best thing we ate. No wonder there were reservations available last min on sat night. Too bad because clearly they spent a lot of money designing the restaurant but lacks warmth and atmosphere. That was our second time eating there won’t go back.

    Our experience in a word was odd. It was almost as if the waitstaff had been trained in avoidance techniques. Gaining their attention was quite challenging. There was an air of chaos as everyone seemed to be running at top speed, yet not much was being accomplished. We watched a plate of food circle through the restaurant three times before finally landing successfully at a table. My husband ordered a Manhattan, but was served an Old Fashioned. He had waited so long to receive it he was afraid to say anything as it would have been another 30 minutes for a replacement. Our food was just ok. It should have been awesome since it took over an hour to receive. Beautiful setting for a disappointing meal.

    Showed potential but seemed to be slow moving up the startup learning curve. Waitress was on her first day and it showed. A sweetheart struggling with a slow kitchen and apparent rookie bartender. Got our food more than a hour after we arrived. Menu was limited but offered creative dishes. Presentation was good but food was barely warm and pasta seemed tough as if held under heat lamp too long. Hope they get their act together because it’s a great venue on the lake.

    Worker shortage leaves diners to wait for their order, but the food was fine and our waiter most gracious. Fish and chips were piping hot and yummy; paparadellli missed the mark (slices of chicken, no sauce) but we’d go again to support keeping another Northern Michigan restaurant afloat.

    We came by boat and directed to our slip then were met by Peter to take us up to the restaurant by golf cart. Nice! We had a lovely table by the window and were approached ASAP by Macy for drinks etc. We really liked the choices on the menu. We had the walleye and salmon dinners. Love them both! The owner Chris made a point of introducing himself and stopped by the table several times to make sure everything was perfect. We really had a wonderful experience and will be going back for sure! Highly recommend

    With the difficulties getting wait staff these days, the servers did an excellent job, all things considered. Alisa was bartending and running drinks to the tables as well because there were only two other servers. She and Hunter ran the show and the kitchen was relatively prompt with producing the excellent meals. In this pandemic-ending period, the service was safe and comfortable for the diners. The Pointe is located at the Sommerset Pointe Yacht Club and the views of the harbor and the beautiful Lake Charlevoix are spectacular! We will continue to dine here with friends and family. Our wish is that people will begin going back to work to help all small businesses get back on their feet and prosper.
