Had a reservation for 7 pm did not get seated until 8 pm Waitress took 45 min to take our order and food came one hour and 15 min later and not all of our food came together. We ate in the pitch dark...no offer of even candles. Waitress was very unfriendly to say the least and very unattentive . Possibly there was not enough staff...but we do come here on a regular basis and the service is always 50/50. We did not plan over 3 hours for dinner. Based on this experience I probably would not recommend. Its a beautiful place to dine and when the food came it was good...so its a real shame on the staffing part.

We had just discovered the Pointe this visit to Boyne City and wanted to try it for dinner. We were not disappointed. Had a nice lake view seating and shade was good. Our server Katie was friendly and attentive and helpful. Our food was well prepared and delicious. We will return next time we are in town.

We have dined here before, and the food is always great. The service was horrible. We waited 40 minutes for someone to take our drink order. It took an hour and a half before we got our meals.

Excellent seafood and outstanding burger served with crispy fries. Walleye presentation was exceptional and the Caesar salad was delicious. Can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Boyne.

We had a delicious dinner. Our waitress, Alina was excellent. She provided every extra we requested, from extra ice and lemons to a cushion to raise the seat for a short member of our party. She even brought extra spoons for the delicious corn chowder and she was spot on that a piece of the olive oil cake would be the perfect finish. The lobster, walleye, and cod were all delicious and perfectly prepared.

The view of Lake Charlevoix was lovely, and the grand chandelier, hanging from a massive compass in the ceiling was impressive. However, the ambiance was otherwise pretty utilitarian. The menu is very limited, and while the presentation was nice, the food was somewhat bland, which was a bummer considering the price. Our server was very nice and attentive, though.

Service was abysmal. Sat with no water or waitperson for 20+ minutes. Confusion who’s table was ours. Food inconsistent temperature. Some things not cooked to order. Had to keeping asking for ice, water and ice for ice tea. Asked for medium well beef, came out rare/med rare. Couldn’t locate staff to send back, guest just ate edges. Mentioned three times to staff was a birthday. No recognition, dessert or anything. Used to be one of our top dining destinations in Northern Michigan. Likely not returning.

Enjoyed our dinner on the deck, nice view, amazed at the servers, only 2 for the entire restaurant and they managed very well. We split the caprese salad which was delicious and the lobster pappardelle, which was very good.

Outstanding! Our first visit, we were not disappointed. Seated outside on a warm evening, with an incredible setting sun view over the yacht club docks to Lake Charlevoix and the surrounding shores. A reasonable wine selection, even if pricey, and a menu which made for some tough decisions. Every dish we selected was perfect, from the gnocchi, to the walleye and lobster pappardelle. The sauces were rich without being overwhelming, perfectly balancing the delicate flavors of the dishes. We even indulged in dessert, the deep fried brownie ... the finely chopped mint leaves on the ice cream providing another great taste experience. A big thanks to our server, Alina, for her engagement and help. We will be back!

The food was absolutely phenomenal! Every course, every dish was a joyful, culinary experience! The dishes were beautifully plated, and absolutely amazing to taste! Quiet, comfortable atmosphere, overlooking the marina and beautiful sunset view! All of the staff were kind. And overall amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back!

The restaurant was busy, but had a lot of open tables. We were seated promptly, then we waited over 20 minutes during which time numerous wait staff went by our table ignoring us. Finally I went to the bar to order drinks, and I waited another 5 minutes as the bartender fixed drinks and then left the bar area totally. I then saw the hostess and asked her if there was a way we could at least get drinks. She seemed shocked that no one had waited on us. Within a few minutes someone did come to our table and we ordered drinks and dinners. Another fairly long wait as we watched other tables served bread as they waited. When waitress came to say food would arrive “shortly” we asked about bread, and a small plate was brought out for us. Food did finally arrive and was good, but nothing fantastic. Restaurant appeared to have a lot of staff, but we were told they were short staffed tonight, but obviously they were also just terribly disorganized. We saw nice couple in the next table go through the same process we did. It appears we were seated in an area that no staff wanted to cover. Had staff taken drink and app orders when we sat down everything would have been more tolerable. We have had good experience at The Pointe in the past and we normally enjoy the atmosphere, and we will likely go back again at least one more time. Tonight was not good. Perhaps a more experienced host could make sure all tables are being served.

My favorite dish, the Chicken Pappardelle hads gotten a refresh this year to be lobster. The restaurant still allowed me to substitute and everything was excellent as usual. Highly recommend for view, ambience, and food!
