The Point in Towson
Brooke makes the best Lemon Drops! She is a great hostess and very pleasant! Deviled Eggs and Salmon BLT Sandwich are sheer deliciousness!!
I would recommend for lunch... we went for dinner. Kinda pricey for the quality. Went for my birthday and noted it was a birthday on Open Table with our reservation. It was never mentioned we were there for a reason... Didn’t meet my expectations.
Good neighborhood bar. Brunch was disappointing, but I think ok for drinks
Fun drink specials and a nice vibe. Our waiter was nice but inexperienced.
Salmon BLT and Deviled Eggs YUM-MO!! Seafood Salad and crab cake was my friend’s choice and it was devoured! OH!! And the Lemon 🍋 Drop!!! Yaaaasss!
Went here for brunch with my friend and had an amazing experience! We were able to be seated right away and our waiter was super attentive. The food was excellent. Not to mention BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS. I had the lobster grilled cheese which was loaded with lobster and super flavorful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good brunch spot!
Me and my friends went to the bottomless brunch and the food was AWESOMEEEEE!!!! We had to flag down staff a couple of times for drink refills but other than that it was a lovely experience. Great deal for the price!
Amiable staff on the side where we dined. Food was good, with one exception - the cauliflower bites with Thai chili jelly and HEAPS of siracha. So hot it was unpalatable - and I eat siracha on scrambled eggs, and nibble wasabi for fun. Our waitress was well intentioned - but the small side of ranch dressing that we ordered to cool off the cauliflower took almost 15 minutes to arrive, and there was no crowd on the restaurant side. The protein I’d ordered for my salad wasn’t brought for another 15 after the salad arrived. I’d recommend this to friends getting together who want a cold beer plus good food - but who have time to linger over dinner.
It was a nice time. Food was good, but nothing spectacular.
I appreciated the brunch menu; the chicken wings were good, but wasn't thrilled I only had two choices in quantity: 8 or 20.
Chicken and waffles were ok, but chicken was kind of dry, no flavor.
Breakfast bowl wasn't what I expected, but good: potatoes country sausage gravy and eggs.
Very good! My wife had the mac and cheese and the doritos nachos. I had the shrimp and grits. Both delicious.
Our server was wonderful! She was pleasant and very helpful! We were a party of 8 and she served us well. There was one issue. One person in my group did not receive her food until the rest of us were almost done. I don’t fault our server for this but it was a disappointment. Regardless, I will definitely visit The Point again!
The food was okay and the service was lacking. The crabby tots were delicios.
Went for brunch on a Sunday and incredibly expensive compared to quality. Poached eggs were cold and potatoes undercooked which were on several dishes. Nice big bar and would recommend the snacks with beer and a game but not a good dining experience given the price. Maybe the fact that the place was empty could have been a tip that this really isn't a brunch place.
The Chesapeake devil eggs was really good but the rest of our food was just okay wasn't too happy that I had to wait a extra 15 minutes after receiving my food for my sides.
Entrees were not hot, served warm to room temperature. Service was much better than usual, we had Troy today. He was very attentive, helpful and patient! Crab tots and doughnuts were served hot and were amazing!!
The corn and crab chowder was the bomb. The crab Mac and cheese—not so much.
Rebecca was extremely slow in service. Order came out incorrect. Needed to ask for everything from salt and pepper to syrup for pancakes. Food was good
This was my third visit to The Point in Towson and the most disappointing yet. The Point in Fells is an old favorite of mine, so I'm a bit bummed that the one in Towson has been a let down every visit based on its food and service. First, my crab soup arrived barely warm and thick as crab dip. The waiter took forever to come back to the table, but he was very friendly and happy to retrieve a hotter soup. I ordered the scallops app, which was pretty good, the scallops were just a bit over- seasoned, and the dish was very salty (as was the crab soup). I ordered a side of "sauteed veggies" that was forgotten, and was brought out about 30 minutes late, and comprised of half-raw Brussels sprouts, broccoli and asparagus that was so covered in rock salt it was unpalatable (my husband agreed) Our waiter was also bar-tending, so service was extra slow but it was understandable (I assumed he and the chef must have been taking shots with customers) Other than that, the live music was great, the bar is a cool-looking spot with a fun line up of events.
Brunch was very good, nice menu. Service was excellent.
Unfortunately we went for a special meal after my daughters graduation from Towson and it was very disappointing. We made a reservation for 1:30 got there at 1:20 and sat til 4 waiting for our food. We were greeted by a server who “claimed “ they were swamped-which was not really the case. All of the patrons around our table were equally disappointed with the service and quite honestly we will never return.
Made a reservation well in advance to enjoy Mother's Day with my two adult children before leaving for a flight back to CA. We arrived as the first guests and 10 minutes early, but two parties came in and were seated before us, including a large party with small children. Then the host tried to seat us next to them - the end with the small kids - even though there were plenty of open available tables. The food was tasty but the egg dishes were cold. At the end of the meal I visited the ladies room and saw a flyer for the event saying each Mom could get a free class of bubbly. That was never offered, I had to ask for it and did not get to enjoy it with my meal. The restaurant shows promise but the execution was very disappointing.
Sam was a great server on a busy Easter Sunday! The Lobster Benedict was outstanding and full of tender lobster.
Excellent Easter brunch. Great food and service.
Great music, fun menu - loved the drinks and specials and priced just right!
There was a VERY restricted menu. The value and selection of foods was so limited. It was a big disappointment...and a BIG rip-off.
Great food! great service
Both the food and service were superb!! I will definitely be returning.
The hostess and servers were great but the food and drinks left a bit to be desired. My husband had a spicy margarita that just tasted like sour mix. We had mushroom empanadas which were cooked nicely but didn’t have much filling. There was pick de Gallo on the side that was really nice. The fired Brussels app was tasty. For dinner I had salmon which was a good portion and cooked pretty well but needed salt over cauliflower rice which was a bit bland and was floating in a sea of overly sweet plum jelly. Not my cup of tea. My husband had scallops, again prepared well but the pasta they were with was bland. I’ve heard really good things about brunch here so we will probably try that and I think dinner could be better with some small tweaks:)
Excellent menu. Real fine dining and the bar is lively. Best restaurant in Towson.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional!!!!
Loved everything about our brunch at the Point! Will definitely be returning!
Interesting menu, lots of yummy snacks and plays on comfort foods.
My sisters 21st birthday. Memorable!
For our monthly girlfriend’s brunch we selected The Point. The decor and layout are lovely and inviting. Our party arrived at 11 am, early enough to beat the major brunch crowd and 30 minutes after the restaurant opened.
The selection on the menu was decent; typical brunch fare. My friend ordered the fried deviled eggs; we were informed 20 minutes after ordering that they didn’t have eggs to make the deviled egg dish. This should have been the first indication as to how this dining adventure would proceed.
I ordered the bacon platter. The bacon was over cooked, hard and extremely salty. Not great.
My group of three ordered an omelette, pancakes and an eggs Benedict. An hour and a half after ordering; and two requests to our server to learn the status of our order, our food finally arrived. My friend’s omelette was swimming in oil, my truffle fries were soggy and the pancake was over cooked.
This was an extremely disappointing meal, our money, time and appetites would have been better served at one of the many other brunch options in the area.
We had the best brunch at The Point! Their bottomless is a great deal, all of the food was amazing, and it has a great bar/restaurant vibe. Would for SURE go again!
10/10 would go again and again and again. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere.
The foos was awful. They could not cook a burger (2 of them) to medium at 2 attempts. Wine ordered was not the wine received. Service was as poor as the food. Note that I made the reservations days before our meal. They sat us at the nearest table to the front door. Both the noise from the bar & from people entering the restaurant just added to a piss poor evening.
Wanted to step out of our usuals and found The Point. It was a great find and we will definitely be back. Fun menu with a lot of options. Drinks were good, too. One concern was the sound level. We sat in the side room (there are three rooms: a band/bar room, a stand alone bar, and the separate dining area). It was very hard to hear the members of my party and often hard to hear the servers. Overall, fun and good experience. We will be back.
